*Disclaimer* I received this kit gratis for the purpose of review, and I am in no way, shape, or form affiliated with Provape.

This is just my initial review and thoughts of the Provape-1 (and please be kind, it's my very first review LOL :)), I'll have a vid review soon hopefully very soon ;)

I was notified that my kit would be going out on Monday, had it in hand on Thursday. Very fast shipping IMO.

First initial impressions:

1) This one is very nitpicky, but I would have liked to have seen a bit more in the packaging deptartment, maybe just a touch more padding to give that "secure" feeling. There was no "shifting" going on inside the unopened box, but I'm insanely .... retentive about this stuff (you should have seen the last package I mailed, I'm sure in took an hour just to open LOL)

2) Upon opening, I found inside a small box with my batts (14500), which were pre-charged I might add, kudos on that one :), my charger, the tips, and my atty. The unit itself was separately wrapped in about an inch of bubble wrap (no probs with the packaging here :)).

3) Unit itself is much smaller (in a very good way) than I had anticipated. Only aprox. 3.5 inches (maybe 4) tall, and about the diameter of a nickel. Fits very nicely in the hand.

4) Very "professional" looking mod. Great laser etched logo, the finish is very nice (not a slick finish, but not rough either...almost silky). End caps are top notch, not sloppy looking. The button has a very tactile feel to it, you can definately tell when it's depressed (it's has a noticable "click"). VENTED END CAP!!!!!! I can't stress this enough, thank God more vendors are starting to look into safety.

I chose the 901 mod, and I gotta say I'm very impressed with it so far. The first unit I received was DOA, and after a very quickly answered email, I had the pleasure of speaking with David directly via phone. He went over some basic procedures and questions (mainly to find out what the problem was). After about 20-30 mins, he determined the best way to rectify the situation was a new unit, which he told me would be sent out overnight via UPS. I had my doubts, but about 30-40 mins later I received an email stating my package had in fact been dropped off with UPS via overnight, and sure enough, had the new unit the very next day, complete with pre-paid shipping label to return the "defective" unit. He even included a 510 adapter because I had suggested maybe trying the 510 on the "old" unit (we originally suspected the atty to be at fault) and 2 new 510 attys. If everyone else gets even just half the great service I've experienced so far, they'll still have one of the best purchasing experiences ever. I think he's definately set a new bar with customer service.

I'll get more in-depth when I do the vid review (gotta get that web cam LOL).

Edit note: Just spoke to David, and apparently they've resolved the issues causing the DOA (I'm guessing it was a SNAFU with the adapter pins), so they're shouldn't be anymore of that :)

I'm really loving the ProVape also. I posted some comments of my impressions after your review as well provape.com - pv1 review
I totally agree about AW batteries. It's all I'm using from now on. I'm glad that ProVape offers them right on their site. I also just noticed that they offer a carry case for the ProVape now too. I tried a low resistance atomizer on the ProVape and I'm totally satisfied. I'm glad I purchased 2 of these devices. I couldn't help it. They had pink and blue...how could I resist. I can leave the house for extended periods of time and be completely covered.

I am very happy with my provape-1 also, especially with an 801 where it throws out tons of vapor!

I found the unit to be quite attractive but deceptively heavy but not overly considering it is made from steel.

I also vaped on it with the 901 and 510 and found the 510 a bit harsh on occasion but really enjoyed it using a 901. It would have been interesting to see this unit perform at 6v but it is only made for 3.7.

The body design and decorated caps make it a refreshing change from you average cylinder.

I look forward to their next endeavor!

Has anyone noticed the button catching on their Provape-1? My wife bought a pink one, every so often I give it a whirl and sometimes the button doesn't fire. She said it happens when she does not press it exactly straight, but doesn't think it's too big of a deal, she realized she would be a guinea pig ahead of time when I explained to her the dangers of buying a first run device. Funny how when I looked it over in pics, the button was one of the things I pointed out as a possible problem, and now hers is catchy.

Good to know. I told her that everyone raves about the customer service but she doesn't seem to want to be bothered with it. I'll poke at her some more tomorrow. All in all, she loves the thing, was amazed at how much better a 14500 with 901 vapes in comparison to the Evo she was using. I think it's a pretty nice PV aside from her button issue.
