My Squape Reloaded came in today, this is my first rebuildable and first attempt at making a coil and wicking. I'm using 30ga Kanthal and KoGo cotton. I didn't know what to get and this was what was in stock locally.

I broke my first coil trying to squeeze it with tweezers. I didn't realize how fragile they are when hot.

I was aiming for the 1.5 Ohm to 2.0 Ohm range. I did 8 wraps and it tested at 2.04 Ohm but the istick says it's 1.8 Ohm.

It seems to vape OK, flavor is very strong and the vapor production is decent. Can get dry if I chain vape it, but will recover if i give it 10 seconds or so rest.

Anyway, it's probably not pretty, but just looking for tips/suggestions.

Thanks.

That looks good! If you get too many dry hits stuff the cotton down in the channel a little more. readyxwick2mmsquape.jpg Here is mine with 28G 10 wraps with readyXwick, 2mm, I lay the wick right in the top part of the channel and never get a dry hit. I also chain vape! The readyXwick makes it possible to torch right on the base and not have to change the wick for like weeks. This build has lasted for five weeks so far! I love my SQuape R!

If you want to stick with cotton try to pick yourself up a W-deck. I had to order my SQR and my W-deck from different vendors and was having the same issues while I was waiting for the deck to arrive. Also if I'm going to chain-vape I try to keep the SQR more vertical during my draws, seems to help it keep up with wicking a little better.
