I wouldn't let it go to you, this must be one of the nicer forums i have ever been on where users actually respect each other.

Oh I know that. :) I've been in a few "Why the hate..." and "ProV vs. Whatever" threads, so I knew what to expect, kind of... I guess I just never expected to see it outside of those threads.

Nope any time a happy ProV owner shares their thoughts they are fair game. As ProV owners we do need to say our piece and leave, don't get defensive, simply give your opinion and that's it. Provide as much info as you can in your one post and leave it at that! Let the haters argue amongst themselves.

One of the ironies of this is that the main reason that person would never purchase a ProVari was the lack of multiple buttons. I used to have that same complaint, but I don't baby my mods, my twists, Vamo and ProVari all get thrown into the inside pockets of my coat when I go anywhere. I can reach in, grab any of them and vape, except for the multi button Vamo. I always have to check and make sure that I didn't accidentally crank up the wattage while it was in my pocket. It gets annoying at times.

Same here. The Vamo is too easy to adjust and it can happen with out knowing it happened. Same with the eVic, I saw a video of a gal that got the screen all set the way she wanted it and it kept changing on her, it turned out that if the toggle was held for a couple seconds it would change what info was displayed on the screen. The ProV may not be perfect, but for me it is the closest I have found thus far.

...It wasn't so much the ProVari hate that got to me, it was the attempt to bully me because I had a low post count...

On that my dear, you must immediately adjust your perspective. Unless one has been a member of the forum since its inception, a high post count does not suggest superior knowledge or experience, but rather antisocial and/or compulsive tendencies. Candidly, you have fewer posts because you have a life.

Likewise. I've seen comments from people who had 10,000 posts make some of the most strangest comments or ask some of the most ridiculous questions that I have seen here. I was thinking to myself, "Where has this person been all of this time?"

I don't own a Provari and certainly can't afford one but it seems to me the provari gets hated on as much as the beats by dre headphones on the deals forum. Nobody should get flamed for making a recommendation if it has basis.

Completely off topic... But... I've been a recording musician for he better part of 2 decades now, and at first I shunned the Beats headphones as well... Being partial to professional level headphones at the same price points... Sennheisers, AKG, etc... All with about as flat a frequency response as one could ask for...

Which is great for mixing...

But when I am in my car, I adjust everything to my liking...

And I will be the first to admit... When I put on a set of the beats cans, holy crap the music just came alive... from a stupid iPod... They really do sound great, and IMO are worth the price of admission... They sound a lot better than the Bose cans, to me...

And there ya have it... TO ME... In my opinion...

Problem is... A lot of folks try to push their opinions off as cold hard facts...

I have a ProVari... I love it... I use it more than any of my other APV's... I also have a chinese variety pack of APV's... But the ProVari is the best one I've got... In my opinion... TO ME...

Who cares what anyone else thinks? Not me... LoL Don't let the haters get under your skin... Most ofthem don't own, and have never used a ProVari. It's difficult for me to accept their opinion at all...

I would like to point out that I got hated on after 7 people had already recommended a ProVari or REO, the OP had already purchased a ProVari, and the hater admitted that they hadn't bothered to read the thread before replying.
Crazy.

I half thought you guys were kidding when you talk about stuff like that happening.

Hi PlanofMan,

I think the biggest problem is when people don't thoroughly read the OPs question. In that post he said he didn't mind paying a high price upfront for good quality and low maintenance later. That's why I suggested a Provari is all. I'm sorry you got hated on .. Want me to go beat them up for you? I know a little karate... I send you a hug though hope it makes you feel better. xoxo :):blush:

Funny you should mention Bose. I'm not an audiophile, but due to a severe hearing impairment, I require crystal clear audio in a small package. Bose delivers. I have listened to Beats, and while I'll admit that they sound "better" they are not quite as crisp and clear, and don't meet my needs or requirements.

That was an excellent analogy, and one I can understand and relate to.

The problem lies in the fact that people start a thread asking for opinions on what to get for themselves. They may or may not provide certain criteria of their needs and expectations.

Although some of the posts similar to this are intentionally created by trolls to stir up our community, the majority are sincerely created and seeking information from people who have owned certain products and who are willing to share the merits of that product.

They will get a mix of knowledgeable, well-thought-out, fact-based information to the opposite end of the spectrum of someone blurting out whatever the favorite mod-of-the-month is. Hopefully the original poster can sift through the comments to make a rational decision.

What irks me is when someone flat out gives out inaccurate information in an attempt to make their case seem solid. This really does a disservice. The person seeking information may not have the means to know the information is incorrect, and I feel it is the duty of the more informed to point out the inaccuracies.

Then the flame wars begin and everyone can get the popcorn and sodas out for the show.

Most of the haters are too dumb or lazy to calculate wattage. Honestly I will never want variable wattage as I use only RBAs now. I dont want the power shooting up if one my coils is acting up. I'm also an Android guy and feel the same way about Apple products. Dont need somebody to think for me. Ive had my V1 Provari for 18 months now and it will probably still outlast all the vw devices out right now

Ofofoff topic too... I tried the beats, but fell in love with these weird Sonys. They look like donuts and are super bass something, I don't know, but incredibly, they kick major behind on acoustic music. I'm a classical freak and when they were recommended to me I thought the person was kidding.

yea i cringe every time i recommend a provari to someone on here and will only recommend it if i truly think it will fit what they are asking for, there are many great devices out there right now but if they are looking for build quality and longevity and VV then there really is only one device out there that fits the bill.

but yea mentioning provari is like mentioning religion or politics on here lol.

Excellent points on your part as well... Both are excellent... And you understand my statement wasn't a knock on Bose... Heck, they make great stuff! And if I were looking for zero distortion headphones that give shimmering audio quality I would have a pair... Instead I want kick drums to thump and crash cymbals to sizzle like overcooked bacon... I respect your opinion on the Bose, and it's apparent that you respect my opinion about the Beats...

The thing is... We also will pay for quality and can qualify that expense based on our desire to achieve something as close to perfection as we are willing to shell out of our pockets for.

Hence, why we own ProVari's... Because in our pursuit of the perfect vape, we were fortunate enough to make a sound investment in a high quality piece of merchandise...

Some people are really happy with apple earbuds... And to suggest that there are better headphones would just be blasphemous... Even though they've never heard anything different...
