Hey guys,

After digging around forums i have finally set my heart on purchasing the Vamo v5( Now i hope this is a good choice :p )

I hear that buying the kit which comes with batteries and charger but their dangerous apparently?

So in deciding just buying the body, what do you advise i should buy on top?

batteries(types and brand perhaps?)
tank(i think thats whats it called to hold liquid)#
Charger?

would appreciate if im missing anything else from the list above to advise on those aswell.

Regards,

Vini

batteries - panasonics are highly regarded - you want unprotected batteries for a vamo - I'm using #CGR18650CH

There have been some threads with delayed shipping for batteries from china, might be worth spending a couple extra bucks and snagging them off ebay or amazon.. even locally..

With batteries, take good care of them - don't drop them, or store them in a car, and use a charger with auto shut-off.. charge them when you are *awake* in the house.. there are lots of knock-off and repackaged batteries & chargers out there, and you don't mess with batteries.. they burn good.

Nitecore chargers are well regarded - & not likely to smoke your batteries.. a 2 cell model is all you need for a vamo, even if you vape up a storm, it'll take all day to drain a quality battery & your recharged battery will be ready to go long before then.. Amazon is about the same price as china for those..

for tanks - I like the protank.. some people hate them.. evod tanks are nice, Iclear 16's and iclear 30's have some good reviews.. they're all rebuildable.. but even the $1.79 clearo's will work for a while & perform pretty well on a vamo..

If you're trying to get it all in one-shot & cheap, fasttech has a package with the v2, nitecore charger & sony batteries for not too bad of a price.. delivery is usually about 2 weeks to the usa though..

Panasonic batteries are good. But there are others. You do not want a battery with the Protection chip. I don't have the v5 I have the V2 Vamo and it will not work with batteries that have that damn chip.
If I were to get a charger now I would get one of the smart chargers.
Tanks. I would get either a Protank II or the Davide Glassomerizer. I have the Davide but the Protank II is pretty damn good I hear. The advantage in this type is they are bottom feed ( fewer dry hits) repairable ( has a replaceable head) and if you save the old heads they can be repaired if you like but that takes some skill and you may not want to do that just yet. Wait until you have a few that need repair. If you get to that stage I or many others can tell you how to do that and what you will need. There are a ton of videos on the subject too. I gave up on clearo's as most are not repairable or rebuildable and they are top feed. Top feeds depend on tipping the tank or capillaryn action which is not very efficient and you get more dry hits on them. The Vivi is a top feed a pretty good one but still a top feed clearo type. The only problem with the Protank types is some heads will leak. There are some cheapo clone heads that leak. A good protank type and good heads don't leak IME. I've got 5, 2 Protank I's, 1 Protank 1.5 and two Davide types both standard and mini. I prefer the Davide. But I don't have a Protank II to compare just info from Vape friends.

V5 now? I can't keep up. The V4 seems like yesterday (or a few weeks ago lol). What does the V5 do?

For batteries, IMR type are pretty much tried and true. All high drain batteries are dangerous in the sense of the amount of current they can deliver but IMR's are less susceptible to thermal runaway and also generally don't explode or burn.

I hope the V5 works better than the V2,today makes 2 months and it is playing out,dry hits and threads are shot. I have my Provari and the AW IMRs should be here tomorrow. I loved my Vamo,it was my first Mod,but 2 months?? and i treated it like a virgin, slow and easy. I can't say anything about the Provari,as I have yet to use it,but it has to be better than the Vamo. Everyone was yelling about the Vamo, but now Iread a cry post everyday. They have issues and they need to fix them. Hope the V5 works.

I personnaly like the protank 1 and have a protank version 2 on the way. It was the first tank I bought for my mod and I have no reservations about encouraging people to start here as well. Dont know much about the vamos I have a V3 on the way but i am experience severe delays from fasttech(I ordered on 08/31 it has been in Hong Kong Post since 09/06/2013). So if time is of the essence consider your other options carefully. I personally use AW 18650s 2000mah IMR and a nitecore charger. Good luck...

I think the V5 is that whole HUGE line of V3's that came out, had really crappy 510 connectors, were sent back to the manufacturer and "retrofited" with the new connector

POW...V5...uggh

If you can get a V3 without the screwed up 510 connector go for it...if you can get a V3 with a FIXED 510 connector they try to sell as an upgraded "OOOOH SHINY NEW MODEL" go for it

Mine hasn't let me down yet and is running like a champ

Truth in advertising used to be an important part of "selling" a product

I have the Vamo V3, it's performing very well with no problems, I use the Panasonic CGR18650CH and the Nitecore charger. I personally like top coil clearos..... Kanger T2 & Viva Nova. My favorite of the bottom coil is the the Vapeonly 3.5 BCC. :)
That's exactly what I have..minus the kanger...Vivi nova mini, CE4S's and I have a BCC Mega (Totally Wicked Tornado RCS tank) my BCC is leaking now though..dagnabit!
