I have never had a problem with my tank wicking at any level of vaping. always make sure the ends aren't crimped after trimming, and I always make sure and gently push the tank wicks into the build wick shoulders, that go over the screw heads, and loop the wick tails down to the deck and under the build, like a figure 8. That ensures any over wicking is picked up, and adds more wicking under the build.
How big of coil you using,? I use a large diameter coil, so am packing a thick wick through the coil. Basically doing a tension wrapped micro coil but at midi size, or something like that. it is important to have thick wick shoulders on top of the screw heads to accept the tank wicks for efficient wick transfer. Can peal back a top strand layer of wick, cutting it so it can be frayed out for better tank wick acceptance.
The main reason to take the tails down to the deck and under the build is to retrieve any over wicking. Also that gives you back up juice reserve for when one may outwick the transfer rate. I can chain vape the flashi for 20 minutes no prob. (20 minutes is the length of my vape breaks at work

)
The flashi remains a top contender in "the collection".
I think I explained it right, least makes sense to me.
