Well damrn, that's an excellent question. I'm using 400, works for builds down to 0.4 ohms. So, thinking about this, one can influence wicking volume by either or both, changing up the mesh for a more porous wick and by changing density of the rolled up genie wick.

so, thinking can accomplish wicking volume to pretty much the same degree simply by loosely or tightly twisting up the mesh regardless. I have 400, cause that was the best consensus at the time was trying out genesis style rba's, quickly lost interest once the Russian arrived:D But a sheet of SS mesh has come in handy and given me a huge amount of creativity latitude when coming up with half the crap I do :D:lol::lol::lol:

Heck, the hybrid genie wick I put in the Term-C, 9 months ago, is still in it. One of these days may even rebuild it, frak that, can't even come close to my worst build use the SS tank section, for an rba make over.:D

Heck, just swapped out the 510 caps between the Helmsman and El Giganti, improved both. even was able to use a spare nemi silver plated center pin in the helmsman 510.

Man I'm sill not getting a consistent feed from the tank with mesh either. I've just been in dripping mode for quite a while tried the mesh and it just doesn't feed, even with no wick just straw open mesh. Unless I plug the air hole and pull it. It just seems I can't get any make up air into the tank for it to release the vacuum. I would like to get the tank wicking well. But at the same time it's so good in dripper mode I don't know.

Does yours feed consistently to keep up dice . I'm not sure what I'm missing.

I have never had a problem with my tank wicking at any level of vaping. always make sure the ends aren't crimped after trimming, and I always make sure and gently push the tank wicks into the build wick shoulders, that go over the screw heads, and loop the wick tails down to the deck and under the build, like a figure 8. That ensures any over wicking is picked up, and adds more wicking under the build.

How big of coil you using,? I use a large diameter coil, so am packing a thick wick through the coil. Basically doing a tension wrapped micro coil but at midi size, or something like that. it is important to have thick wick shoulders on top of the screw heads to accept the tank wicks for efficient wick transfer. Can peal back a top strand layer of wick, cutting it so it can be frayed out for better tank wick acceptance.

The main reason to take the tails down to the deck and under the build is to retrieve any over wicking. Also that gives you back up juice reserve for when one may outwick the transfer rate. I can chain vape the flashi for 20 minutes no prob. (20 minutes is the length of my vape breaks at work:D)

The flashi remains a top contender in "the collection".

I think I explained it right, least makes sense to me.

Oh, Jeremy, buddy ole pal, check this out:

I should remind its a tobecco clone, but I have ground down the tube seat in the tank where it hags over the juice port so it's not blocking them.

I don't think the issue is the coil. It's fine in dripper mode. It's more that hardly any juice will feed from the tank. I tried mesh a few times so far and the thing just wants to dry up completely, Unless I go far enough to leave a tank wick out. Then it wants to over feed on the edge of flooding it if not handled properly or vaped enough.

Everything is pre trimmed so it's not crimped at all.

There isn't much detail about how you do the tank wicks. It's like it would be nice if I got a drip or two from the tank every vape so it just runs.

I've probably been spoiled by how well it vapes in dripper mode and just haven't tried messing with it enough now.

Should I try it the original way 7x15 mesh with a silica core.

Yeah, I do break in new wicks in dripper mode till wick and build is cured and seasoned, keep the voltage down so to speak:D then once good to go, can tank em throw them on the regulate and crank it up to 75 watts or so. :D

Make sure to use the German Silica with it, I'd use a rayon cored mesh befoe a silica core wet up a strand, roll into the right diameter, mesh it, be good as gold I would think. My Ramie cored mesh tank transfer wicks worked well.

You know, it could be the fact that your fraking posts aren't level, creating an off balanced flow path, if one is lower, then it could be wicking down and to the side instead of towards the build. Frak, don't know. Either try and making sure your build is level, crap, don't know, grasping at fibers, find that the flashi is tough to get wrong. Pretty much, wham bam thank you kindly mam.!!:D

Thanks for posting that twisted 420 video ! That dude is cool.

I'm getting close to the flashi feeding enough for me. I forgot to mention I use 100vg and the air screw out. These factors are making it harder to get a good feed.

I was using too much mesh, I went down to ~ 7mm x 15mm. Wicked them both but no goo . Took one wick out to leave just a mesh straw. It was ok used it all work day but not wet enough. Thinned the one wick to a very light fluffy piece of rayon. It's feeding pretty good so far, but think id like more so I'll try it with only mesh straws next .

Do you think it affects the feed if the mesh is sticking up into the tank. Would it be better if it was completely flush or less. Maybe feeding better?

I've fooled around quite a bit with the feeder wicks. They actually work better when they protrude into the tank section a bit. 5-6mm or so.

Also, I've had problems using Rayon as the main coil wick on the Flash-E. That might be your problem. The Rayon starts to sag after a while, so while you may have had good contact with the feeder wicks at first, once the Rayon starts to get mushy you may no longer have good contact with feeders on the screw heads.

The coil wicks are well broke in. In dripper mode for a few days. Works excellent in dripper mode. The issue is there is no flow, the feeder is touching the main wick for sure, but there's not even juice getting to the deck. There's enough to feed the coil but not with the saturation I get from the deck having juice in dripper mode. The feeder is in the wick, my upper tails are plenty heavy. The Tanks just not giving up the vg.

Combo of vg and little negative pressure with a wide open draw I think are the issues.

hmm, crap, apologies, frak, just seems no matter what I do, the flashi wicks purrfectly for me. VG 70%, have my wick tanks just slightly above the deck, though on the Taifun GS have the mesh extended several mm into the tank area and works fine on that. My builds are ~0.4 and have driven them up to 75 watts, with no probs, no dry hits, just damn fine vape.!!!

30% pg is a pretty big difference. Makes the juice much thinner.

I don't want to dry pull it to saturate, so I'm trying to tune it so I don't have to. I vaped it all day today. I'm down to the mesh only right now, with a little thin rayon wrap on the outside of one mesh tube. It works, vaped it with no dry hits all day... But not quite enough yet. If I drip to fill the well and vape it after 10 vapes the deck will be fairly dry.

Now to try the 7-9mm x 15mm 350 mesh wicks only looks like straws.

This is true, but most flavors are PG based and I get my 100 mg nic in a pg base. Find it much easier to draw, mix and emulsify into a more homogeneous batch of juice. I also mix with 3% Vodka. Sometimes scotch, depending on the recipe. Frak, 80% VG and higher gives me Gnarly VG Buggers, I mean we talking "Invasion of the Gummy Worm BUGGERS" Gnarly:lol: but some of them ain't bad:lol::lol::lol: Really like the cinnamon ones:D:D:D:D:D:D physce

Yeah I don't have a problem with vg but pg drys me out bad. I only use about 3-4% flavoring the rest is vg. It's impossible to draw with a syringe. Lol

Well wide open mesh is working well so far, full saturation... fill my well full over night, almost to the coil still vaped well not overly flooded. I'll see how it goes today, the I think I may add just 3-4 single strands of rayon in the straws, just to slow it a little bit.

Oh yeah the flashi is back in tank mode! Drained 2 - 5 ml tanks today no issues no leaks no dry pulls. Full saturation with 100vg 3% flavor.

About noon today it started to hint dryness; cracked opened the tank and nothing but vapor in there. Vaped it dry no issues.

Here's a couple pics of my feeder wicks for the peeps.

Theyre wide open except for like 4 single fiber strands of rayon stuck in them.

Here's the center tube on the tobecco clone. I ground the nurling off a while back so it didn't jam on the mesh or pull fiber wicks when tightened.
