The FEV3 is my favorite tank. I use it daily and will continue to use it daily.
I have a Horizon from FT, which is similar to the wicking system on the FEV3 but changing the coil it needs to be taken apart. I also have a Lemo2, which doesn't get any use cuz it's a hassle to change the coils. Right now I'm thinking about getting the Origen tank but I'm still on the fence about it. I wish the FEV3 had a velocity type deck but for single coils. It would make it easier to try out some claptons or any other thicker wire that are very difficult to coil on the FEV3 posts. Also top fill would be a welcome addition to the FEV3.
I currently run SS from 0.6-1.5 ohms @ 7-13 watts.
Just my 2cents.

Focal has the 1:1 v4 clone
focalecig.com - Fev 4 Style Rebuildable Atomizer Bundle Sale with Long Mode by ShenRay - Silver

The one on fsttech is weird can't speak to it. The hotcig v3 is the v3 to get, but it's about sold out.. Only found one source in Stock rt now and have no knowledge of the shop.

The Fev line continues, and is a formidable competitor in the single coil class.

I just ordered that very same RTA, per a conversation over on the Taifun GT thread. Has anyone determined if the V4 is a wired pos. pin or not ??

By wired, do you mean like the older V2.5 where there was a wire inside that got messed up if you did not expect it?

I was told by A.Schwartz(over at the FB page ) that the 3.0 and up were not wired. I have not had the guts to take it apart and verify.

Late Authentic V3s and newer are wireless, but I assume you asking about the Fev4 Clone by ShenRay.

*drum roll*

They are wireless too. :)

Dusted off the FeV3 and put in a new 24g SS316L build. I have not used the flashi in quite a while, and it is good to come back to that very enjoyable vape. One of the best RTAs ever designed IMHO.

A picture is ALWAYS worth, a look see. That answered my question. Thank You Much.
(yes, the Fev4 clone by ShenRay, as I have shallow pockets and can't do Authentic's)

I'm still waiting on Focal to ship my Fev4 with the long option included, so, what mesh would be the best for the feeder tubes, 400 or 200, or, could I just use some Rayon instead of the mesh ?? I've never used mesh B4, so I'm completely new to that aspect of it. I'll prolly be using Nichrome 80 and Rayon for wicking, at least that's my plan, but the feeder tubes will be new for me.

Hey, That looks Nice. Do you know if the V4 is taller than you're V3 ??

Hey 52! it's been a while.

I've had best results with mesh, anywhere from 300-400. It's doesn't take much, just get the smallest piece you can when buying.

There is a technique you can try with Rayon, saw it in a German video, but I haven't actually tried it. Wrap A piece around a small mandrel so it forms a small tube that fits in the holes. You need a good opening. I don't have good results with a full piece of material because you need plenty of room for air to transfer into the tank preventing vacuum lock.

Sitting down, facing forward.
52, I have a V3 that is running with rayon feeder wicks. They are wrapped with one layer, slight overlap, of SS mesh, 400, but the primary/majority of the feeder is rayon. It worked fine, for me, at 30 watts and is working fine for my wife at 15 watts, needless to say. As with all things vape, YMMV. My latest builds are full, 400, SS mesh for the feeders.

Hey Jeremy, it HAS been awhile, for sure, I'm glad to see you here as I remember way back in the FIRST Rayon thread that you were running the Fev, and you just raved about it then, and it looks like you haven't changed you're mind much about it to this day. That's a good thing for me, since I'm AGAIN, late to the party :( and may need guidance . It seems that since I got my first Lemo V1, I have been going Backwards in time as far as RTA's that suite me best. My luck is, that I can still find the older RTA's to work with, otherwise I'd be SCREWED, as I gravitate most towards the Restricted MTL airflow that seems to be mostly a European style of Vaping normalcy rather than American. I just can't handle the Authentic's price points though (I'd sooner pony up for a good Handgun over Authentic RTA's) so I'll go with a good inexpensive clone to vape on.

If most are running Mesh, then I would surmise that Mesh is easier to deal with for this type of application, so I won't endever to persevere with Rayon in the feeder tubes. My wife has PLENTY of sewing needles that I can use as a [wrapping] mandrel for the mesh that I will try to work with (300-400). Hopefully the Arthritis in my hands won't throw me a curve ball while doing this little exercise in dexterity. So what you're saying is to NOT go out and buy 500 feet of mesh like I did with the Rayon  ?? Bummer :( !!

I might try Rayon at a later date, once I get the hang of using mesh the proper way in my V4, and use you're post as a guide when I do. I have book marked you're post for later, Thanks for that awsum.

Sorry, I don't have a V4. I imagine the long mode would be taller and regular versions would be similar sized.

That's OK TrollDragon, no Problem. I went to FT and saw that they still had the Hotcig Fev3 for sale, I have it bookmarked, and might get it after using my V4 for a while and decide that It suits my needs.
