It could be that you are taking hits too frequently. Both flavor and TH can be transient, with them being strongest with the first hit, but less so if you chain vape. TH is the throat responding to the nic and/or PG, and it gets used to it and the TH dies off. Flavor receptors get saturated and the flavor is no longer perceived as much. Sort of like how a hot pepper initially is very hot, but the heat drops off as you continue eating. Try putting it down for a bit and then taking a hit and see if this changes things.

Also make sure your batts are fresh. A PV can vape with less than max voltage, but TH will be reduced or just gone. The 510 is known for its TH, but the batts are relatively short-lived. If the atty is gurgling, you want to blow it out into a paper towel and start fresh. It means it is flodded, another sign of a weak batt.

For the best flavor, I pull vapor into my mouth, take it somewhat into my throat, and then very slowly exhale through the nose keeping my mouth closed. This is the best way I know to really taste a vape.

Well put! Kurt's answer helped me better understand my own subjective experience.

cali grown, if you tend to chain vape as I do, try switching off to 0mg, especially with a very different flavor. For example, I prefer tobacco flavors (on a penstyle atty like the 801) for my nicotine hits and sweet tooth flavors (e.g., chocolate mint) for my pacifier vaping (on my 510). Then, when I get a craving, the first few drags of the nicotine juice are immensely satisfying.

Next to throat hit, flavor is the worst thing to get right about vaping since it is so subjective. I had my taste buds go wacky after about the first month of vaping, nothing tasted good. It went back to normal, but happened a few times (new taste buds growing? Who knows!). Hang in there, change flavors and come back to your old flavors later.

I seek out strong flavored e-liquids (TastyVapor, Halo, FlavourArts DIY) and don't seem to have issues with flavors. It takes a while to find good flavors that you'll enjoy (try to find new flavors in small amounts on the Classifieds to save some money). Purchasing FlavourArts (or other extract flavorings) can give you some control to fix up weak flavored liquids yourself. I find most stock Chinese liquids to be fairly weak flavored.

My go to best flavor and throat hit is my 510 and Menthol liquid which seemed to really help get me over the cigarette hump. I started to use menthol liquids when I wanted a good throat hit (though never smoked menthol cigarettes!) and also higher nicotine in that menthol liquid for when I needed a cigarette. A higher nicotine takes care of the craving and also will give a bit more throat hit (I used 24mg for cravings). I'd vape the higher menthol when I wanted a cigarette and switch off to another flavor to just vape for fun and relaxation. You don't mention what mg you are using, but do know that if you reduce it too quickly, you can have problems (been there, done that!). Don's method of chain vaping low and hitting a high mg liquid when you want a cigarette is spot on.

Menthol drops are easy to make with Pure Grain Alcohol (purchased at a liquor store or grocery store and usually found under the name EverClear). A good recipe that I've used can be found on this thread

Menthol crystals can be purchased on eBay from Gumby96 gumby96 items - Get great deals on menthol, Health Beauty items on eBay.com! You can add the menthol drops to many different flavors including tobacco and fruit flavors to boos them a bit. Again, experiment in small batches.

If you know you just won't like menthol, you can try to add throat hit with anything acidic. Try a bit of the PGA, high proof Vodka, Rose's Lemon Juice, vinegar or citric acid. Experiment with very small batches of liquid so you don't waste much!
