That's what I'm getting at, I guess. What is "maximum flavor"? If the vapor tastes exactly like the "raw" juice, is that maximum flavor?

Does juice benefit from "cooking" it with a coil to perform some Maillard magic, and create flavor that is different from its raw form?

I'm just curious about the science of flavor delivery here. I understand taste is subjective. Drippers claim RBA's give the best flavor. People say Subtank Mini's flavor is muted, while others rave about them. What is the comparison to all of this? If an atty delivers YOU a vapor that tastes like the raw juice, is that the holy grail?
It's not the raw juice flavor per say but more so the thoughts that are reminiscent to the flavor ( does it taste more like soap or truly like a real melon ), when and if you mix / buy a flavor that makes you say now that is pretty tasty, I can guarantee if I could place three different atty's in front of you one would pronounce that flavor profile better ( maximum flavor ) and your build / atty / wattage have everything to do with it or maybe email Cisco or Dino @ avidvaper and they could explain it better.

Just like flavor chasing doesn't have anything to do with the powers that be trying to take vaping away from us.

You think it sounds stupid, don't say it. How would those terms, that maybe 15% of people that vape ever heard, be used to take vaping away?
Cause those 15% could be the deciding factor if it ever came to a vote

A while back I bought some unflavored liquid (very inexpensive), and thought it was pretty good. Then I mixed the unflavored with flavored liquid, about 1/4 flavored and 3/4 unflavored. It tasted the same as the straight unflavored. For many it actually tasted better.

Flavor chasing is basically bogus. After the first few puffs your taste buds are saturated and its all downhill from there. With flavor, less is better. None is pretty good to.

Essentially all vendors oversaturate the flavor by a good amount. It is just about guaranteed that the bigger the flavor hit, the faster you will burn out on it. You really just want a hint of flavor. More is not better.
Maybe that's your way of flavor chasing then. I think some flavors are too much in a high output device/high vapor usage, that's when it gets too sweet and actually can be unrealistic to what is intended.

I'm not looking necessarily for more real though, I want something unlike anything else, more submersive a sensation than anything like that. In a way it is related to smoking, which isn't like other things like food, but here food might be smoked in the best possible meaning, without the negatives (of which would be more). A hybrid between the 2 experiences, not the process itself.

I agree. And I'd like to repeat what I said on DIY subforum a bit earlier:
Juices of full strength are too harsh and too chemical for me and have nothing to do with real things. For example, to enjoy custard I need to feel its complexity and its texture. Vaping"custard" I feel just a few notes (the most loud ones) of its taste. It is like listen somebody enthusiastically playing piano with two fingers - too simplistic to enjoy but loud enough to irritate. So, I prefer to use flavors as a quiet background of vaping.

Does it really matter though? I am courteous in my vaping but I don't think it will impact legislation. Whatever happens is going to happen no matter what we do. Anti-vaping is driven by factors outside our control such as big tobacco, big pharmaceutical and state funding. It's like the war on drugs, it doesn't matter what the facts or the perception are, it only matters who funds the politicians who make the decisions.

This exactly. While massive cloud blowing might get vaping banned in some establishments, it has nothing whatever to do with the laws -- the gov't interference with vaping is ONLY ABOUT THE MONEY. Tootle puffing in public could get it banned in some establishments too, just because people are ignorant.

But everyone is different, with regards to perception of flavors -- one reason I started DIYing is because I find commercial ejuice not nearly flavorful enough, and certainly not sweet enough. To me all commercial ejuice is just a scent, hardly any taste at all -- and the only exception I've found to that is sweet-vapes' Blueberry Muffin -- but I still need to add sweetener to it. My DIY ejuice is around 30% flavoring, because I can taste that!

I've never, in any set-up I've ever used, tasted more than a faint hint of the flavor in the juice I vape. I've gone as high as 80% vg and as low as 30% vg.

I'm confused when I hear juice reviews that mention these tiny nuances of inhale and exhale with this incredible detail. I don't understand that. I'm wondering if I just have an overdeveloped expectation of what the taste should be or what but it's faint at best.

Has it all been commercial ejuice? Because that's exactly what I get from all bought juice; nice scent, no taste -- except for the sweet-vapes' Blueberry Muffin.

It was only when I made my strawberry & cream, which is about 31% flavoring, that i actually got a strong flavor -- it just about knocked me down, there's so much flavor!
