Well just got first order of flavors in, 60+ from ECX, ordered them Friday afternoon! Not only did it get cross country really fast, it was in a box and not the bubble mailer. The link I posted earlier was somebody else's and a few others said they received similar packing. I think they must have got the message about the packaging. I'm glad, because if they kept doing it the same this would have been my last order with them. I'm 100% satisfied with my order, now to drive myself crazy with this DIY thing. So far all I've done have been from extracts I've made. Wish me luck.
60+ flavors will get ya started. Nice !! I hear ya on the bubble mailer. Luckily my 500 or so orders were never damaged. LOL

While not much of a flavor-student myself, I've had some experience with ECX (E-CigExpress) and VZ (vaping Zone's) super-concentrated flavoring line.

To date, my favorites are: RealCig and Honey flu cured (both listed on VZ, the latter commonly referred to as HFC).

The ECX equivalent of RealCig is claimed to be MLB (abbreviated as such on the site, but clearly short for Marlboro), though I think there's something missing from the ECX version, specifically, perhaps a couple drops of "Tobacco Express Tobacco Additive" (ECX TA).

I've had this flavor from both sites and the ECX version seems to be missing (to me) a little bit of that special something that is added by this ECX TA. If you've had it in your flavor cabinet (or whatever) for a little bit, and take a whiff of the bottle, you'll know what I'm talking about. It's a sort of heavy smell. Hay-ish, and heavy at the same time, but oh, so satisfying. Something you MUST smell to understand.

Note: please spell out any new abbreviations at first introduction, thanks :)

This has given me an idea I want to try soon. I think I'll try diluting the Tobacco Express flavor before use just like I have to do with tobacco absolute. The ECX "Tobacco Absolute Diluted" I have diluted further to 3 drops in 3ml of PG and then use only a few drops of that at a time and I still have to use restraint. I bet I could get a better handle on the Tobacco Express flavors by diluting them by at least 50% before use, maybe much more. I'm going to check it out next time I'm mixing.

Edit: Also, I'll be sure to order some "Tobacco Express Tobacco Additive" next purchase. Is it like regular Tobacco Absolute (TA) or something different?

Great idea on mixing the Chinese flavors. The tobacco additive is sort of an ashy taste. I wasn't that impressed, but I'm sure I mixed it too strong.

Yeah, that sounds like tobacco absolute. It really needs to be diluted a lot or it gets out of hand. A little bit can be great though, for giving tobacco flavors sort of an indication of being lit...kind of a tobacco smoke feel/taste.

Doing some quick math on the Hangsen Tobacco Essence info it seems they are only around 17% flavoring and the other 83% is what they call Neutral Tobacco Essence. I'm starting to think that Neutral Tobacco Essence is probably a lot like properly diluted Tobacco Absolute. I love the Hangsen stuff, but being so dilute makes it a little pricey for DIY.

I believe the neutral base is in the flavoring. The only one that doesn't have it is the Cuba (which is crystal clear). I add 1 drop per ml with all of the Hangsen tobaccos and get tons of goodness.

Right now I'm vaping my 10 day old Hangsen Desert Ship that I wrote on the bottle that I used 10 drops of the Hangsen Tobacco Essence and later added 6 drops of my very diluted Tobacco Absolute and it does have a great smokey exhale....better than the 3 day old 10% straight Hangsen TE batch, so I guess what I'm getting at is it was not so much a lack of flavor at 1 drop/ml that I missed, but the low amount of Tobacco Essence in 1 drop/ml (compared to the pre-mixed Hangsen e-liquid I was buying). So adding my own diluted TA is probably a good way for me to economize and still get Hangsen's top notch flavor.

I realize that 3 days for the straight Hangsen TE isn't much steep time to make a judgment, but I did run it 13 hours in the ultrasonic cleaner....I'm going to have to try one of those mini mixers.

Ahh That's interesting. I never thought of adding TA to Hangsen before. I still have a little of the Cuba left. I need to try this. Thanks man :)

I'm too scared of using ultrasonic cleaners and mixers. I'm afraid I'm gonna shake the flavor compounds right out of the bottles. LOL

I never thought about what plastic bottles filled with solvents do @ 100°+ in an ultasonic cleaner. Yikes!

The caps stay on pretty good, though...no leakage yet. The ultrasonic action is really pretty gentle...no violent bubbling waves or anything.

Have you had a chance to try it out yet? They look like they should be part of the standard DIY toolbox!

I haven't yet but will as soon as I make a re-mix. Lots of bubbles is what I hear.

I've been looking for a thread like this! It's a perfect thread for a beginning DIYer like me....Keep it coming so that we noobs can learn the tricks of the trade. Thanks everyone! I lurked/read in the forums for over 2 months before even trying to order anything. I have an order processing at WL, so cram as much info in here as you can in the next couple of days, will ya? I'm already planning on ordering other flavors thanks to this thread. Other noobs might want to read ---> http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/diy-e-liquid/298547-nicotine-comparisons.html too.

Edit: I happen to have an old old ultrasonic cleaner (just on/off, no timer, no heat) and have used it to speed steep juices. It only makes them better as far as I can tell. If you can pick one up at a yard sale or somewhere cheap, I recommend trying it. I bookmarked the mini mixer for a future purchase, though I was worried about turning my ejuice into efoam. Has anyone rigged up something interesting for mixing on a Dremel?

WL is great to try flavors you never had before. It doesn't require a ton of cash to get going. Its the best way to see what flavors you like and don't. The mini mixer will foam a little depending on what flavor you use too. So far I think the mini mixer produces better results than the ultra sonic cleaner. I tried the sonic cleaner for 2 months and never really noticed much but a slight difference. Not like the mini mixer which IMO blends the juice and reduces steep times. As long as your happy with your mix is all that matters really:).

I am starting from zero, so WL was perfect for me. I'm sure I will get more finicky once I've got some mixes under my belt and become a total snob about it.
My ultrasonic has pretty much only seen vendor juices so far, but it really did the trick on some unpalatable juices out of the mailbox. I don't have as much patience as I should regarding "new toys."

Guru question: Is there a trick to get a carbonated taste to a DIY juice? Say I wanted to mix up a Strawberry Soda flavored vape (and, no, I don't really want to - but I'm thinking a soda flavor could be intriguing). It seems that a champagne flavor might help, but IDK. Any ideas from The Experienced?
