I have about 100 flavors in boxes. Very inconvenient to access. I'd like to store them in a rack which will have to be placed near a window and thus exposed to sunlight. Will this damage them? If so, I can probably drape the rack with an opaque cloth of some kind but I'd rather not (due to WAF considerations).

The amount of damage direct sunlight to flavors is likely quite low. However depending on how the window faces and how much direct sunlight your flavors will be afflicted with might result in some warming, which is not the best for flavor lifespans. Cool is better than warm. Light sensitivity, eh.

I would keep them out of Direct Sunlight.

Not sure how much UV Light effects Flavorings? But I'm sure it Doesn't help them.

I thought he was talking about 100 flavored liquids and not flavors for DIY. I see no reason for them to be on display.
Not "on display." They'll be in a rack hung on a closet wall and arranged alphabetically. I have no other convenient place to put them. The task of rummaging through boxes to find the flavors I need is wearing a bit thin.

Direct sunlight causes heat. It is not known what effect light and heat will have on flavoring so I would err on the side of caution and keep these flavors out of direct sunlight. Draping over the rack or relocating to a wall out of direct sunlight should be just fine.

OK, better safe than sorry. I'll just drape something over the rack.

Probably a Good Idea.

You could also go with something like this...

I've ordered THIS. Not a thing of great beauty, but fairly inexpensive and reviews say it's sturdy. One comment was encouraging: "It's great holds lots of bottles of e-liquid." I think maybe the smaller bottles can go 2 deep if I need more room. Seems like practically every new recipe here calls for something I don't have!

You have a window in a closet? I keep my flavors in plastic tool boxes which isn't the easiest to access each one but not like I am mixing daily or that often. Whatever works for the individual is what is best.

@bigdancehawk - More than a year ago, I asked Kimberly (one of the owners of OSDIY) how she'd recommend that I store flavorings...so they'll remain at their best for the longest time. She said to store them in a reasonably cool place, away from direct sunlight and other heat sources. Been doing that since then, and I can't tell any changes in their potency, taste, etc. So IMO it's working great so far!

I also doublecheck to make sure my caps, lids, etc. are always on tightly, after I've used them, and I'm ready to stash them away. Anytime you can smell them when you open the box, cabinet, etc....either one or more has some maybe dribbled on them, or a lid's not on tightly enough.

I feel the same way. I'm also pressed for space.

Hi there! I would suggest to keep the flavor in a cool dark place. Since sunlight/ light may affect the flavors and not to mention the temperature increase coming out from the sunlight.

What about indirect sunlight? Mine are in a room that gets sunlight, but never directly

If your room is dark or flavor is indirectly to any form of light I think that would be safe as long as the room temp is cool. :) But if you are going to ask me of properly storing the eliquids and raw mats (PG, VG, nicotine and flavorings) I would religiously follow the guidelines provided by the well experienced vapers :)
