Out of about 50 flavors I have in my box there's only a handful that I consider to be good. I like most of my tobaccos and I love Dekang Watermelon. If I had to pick a favorite it would be Unflavored PG/VG/Nic. I add a dash of a flavored mix here and there when I fill up a tank.

Sadly enough, when I find a dessert or candy mix that I really like, it's usually a coil killer!

Oh i just remembered a flavour concentrate that no matter what brand i got tasted awful: butterscotch

Every damn one i ever bought tasted like burnt wood

And people wonder why ive vaped unflavoured for years now

My holy grail flavour which i would vape 24/7 is aniseed, but ive tried like 7 different brands and then gave up. I do have some diy anise, made from self crushed star anise thats been steeping in pure PG for 6-7 months, really should try it at some point....

TFA Key Lime is absolutely horrible IF you don't really shake it up before using it in a mix. I found that out the hard way! I'd been regularly making a Key Lime Pie mix with it and some OSDIY Lucky Shot (recommended mix from Kimberly at OSDIY), and had loved it each time. Guess I'd gotten in a hurry making it that time though and totally forgot to shake the bottle before using it in the mix. It was the most horrible, bitter tasting eliquid ever! That's the only mix I've ever made that became drain cleaner. Ever since then I make sure it gets shaken really well before I use it.

Honey is tricky to mix with, no doubt about that. The only thing I have made with honey is a Honey Lemon Eucalyptus which people say is great when you have a cold. I haven't been sick since I mixed it, but I do think it tastes good and I get no cat piss from it. :D

I used Inawera Honey (I also have FA Honey which gets good reviews for honey. The recipe called for .25% which is .08 grams in a 30ml batch. That is hard to measure by weight so make a 10% solution with your honey of choice and use 2.5% of the honey solution in the recipe. If a recipe calls for .15%, use 1.5% of the solution. Too much honey will destroy the recipe and it is easier to get it right by using a solution.

Custards or any custrady creams or ice creams taste okay but the mouthfeel is too cloying for me. I haven't had anything yet I thought was horrible but have had many that wasn't my cup of tea.
are you staying away from the iffy ones?
like TFA - Pistachio (Flavoring)

Found that out the hard way. Even if a flavor doesn't look like it's stratified it probably is. I just shake every flavor bottle before using these days and I'm getting better results in the DIY mix.

Nicotine river's (propriety flavor) "Joy." Fortunately it IS proprietary so it won't pop up anywhere else. Heh.

SO glad I got a tester on that. It is entirely the opposite of "Joy" it tastes as if one shoved as much clove, ginger and nutmeg in one's mouth as possible, with a kind of lingering aftertaste of "Ick."

I quite enjoy Nic River's proprietary "Heaven," but Joy??? The only folks I've heard having success with it are using it at such low percentages I almost wonder if they are tasting it at ALL.

Vapes like "death" and your face will look like it too. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!! LOL.

Well, I guess it could be considered savory and that makes me think of FranC, but I'm not even linking her, it's THAT bad.

Man, I don't EVEN like the smell of REAL bacon.

I like maple syrup and/or brown sugar for honey due to smell issues. LOL.

Sorry Anna, I have to correct you on this. Joy is not a proprietary NR flavor. It is Manufactured by Flavour Art (under their e-motions collection) and is readily available through most DIY retailers that carry FA products.

Some DIYers (myself included) find it useful for adding a yeasty note to bakery recipes (at 0.25-0.50%). Be sure to shake the concentrate before dispensing.

I will say, that there is likely something in Joy's composition that is offensive to some palates (the way Butyric Acid is offensive to some, in certain custards and yogurts); as there does seem to be a "love it" or "hate it" relationship with different DIYers. I would strongly suggest buying the smallest size first, to see if it is something that will work for you.

honey, smells like cat pee :grr:
I love honey juices, mostly because the first commercial juice I ever vaped was Kai's Virgin Vapor's "The Bees Knees". But honey by itself is kinda bad. You need a little lemon and a floral flavor to offset the strangeness.
