Pete at what percent would you recommend starting that Black Fire with? What are your favorite tobaccos by them in order and why?
I am going to say right upfront I did not like the Perique Black or Virginia at all (maybe I used them improperly or didn't steep long enough) The Dark Vapure is good with other flavors and Mellow is easy to work with. I kept Cowboy not sure what I think of that one yet.
Has anyone had there RY4? Not the Oryental but the regular Ry4 by flavour art? (Can you all tell I am gearing up for a flavor purchase? hahha
Some of my FA favorites are Cowboy, Black Fire, Shade, Dark Vapure, Cuban Supreme and Burley. I actually have 12 FA tobacco flavors in my arsenal. Most of my mixes contain a small amount of tobacco flavor in them. I think it gives any flavor more complexity if it is mixed with a little tobacco. I like to use Cowboy as the complimentary tobacco flavor in these mixes, it doesn't seem to overpower other flavors and kind of lingers in the background.
My description of Black Fire:
Rather dry and smokey. It seems to have a burnt wood undertone. Kind of reminds me of a campfire. The smell of hot coals in a campfire perhaps. It definitely doesn't taste too much like tobacco. Kind of how an analog doesn't have an overpowering tobacco taste like a cigar would.
My recipe for a straight up Black Fire mix: (The same recipe for Cowboy, just use Cowboy in place of Black Fire.)
5ml base @ 18mg NIC, 70%PG/30%VG
FA Black Fire 3 drops
Ethyl Maltol 3 drops
Apple cider Vinegar 2 drops
Don't forget the vinegar! It makes a huge difference.
Here's a really good recipe for Shade and/or Dark Vapure:
5ml base @ 18mg NIC, 70%PG/30%VG
FA Shade or Dark Vapure (Interchangeable) 2 drops
TPA Orange (Sweet) 1 drop
Ethyl Maltol 3 drops
Apple Cider Vinegar 2 drops
Don't forget the vinegar! It makes a huge difference.
Good luck!
Pete
