When you say All in 10% EM Base do you mean ten percent base flavoring of 10 % EM in PG%...lol plus the other percentage of flavorings for a total of 25 percent flavorings or do you mean 10% diluted EM added to a base that is lower than 10 percent? This is a tiny bit confusing I hope you understand what I am asking---in your final mixture what percent of it is EM?

Thanks for the recipe, maybe the lack of significant EM is what was making tobaccos harder for me

I really am interested in this because I am making some tobaccos more lately and haven't quite got it perfected. What flavor profile would you say that recipe ends up tasting like?

Sorry if I confused you, it is not a recipe but just the % I use each one at. I use a 1/4 tsp of EM in 80vg/20pg that I add one FA flavor to. I will let it steep at least one week and than add nic and use as is or add other flavorings.

Yes Boston I really like their lemon, pineapple and peach too. The orange is strong and only needs the tiniest bit to me, like 1 percent....lol. I've been on a fruity kick lately but am gearing up to move towards some tobaccos again. Oh the fickle vape.....:D

Just for the record, I haven't tried those 3 yet...they're mixed and steeping overnight (I overnight everything...works well for me). I wanted to try the orange, but ecig (where I placed my order) was and is out of stock :(

The Black Fire reminds me a lot of cig smoke @ 3 drops per 5 ml...but I don't taste tobacco. I've read liquid smokish..which may be at higher percentages but to me it didn't have that thick, sweet flavor. My taste gets dry and smokey...I would think (and will try) mixing with things like Cap apple pie would be heavenly :)

Added: ok, back with results on lemon sicily (ohhh YUM!), peach (best I've tried to date) and pineapple. Oh pineapple, you held such promise in your smell. I can see it working in a mix, but as a standalone...remember baby amoxicillin? Ya...that :(

This is definitely the most interesting or challenging of this trio. I sort of get the idea that this Cuban Supreme is "half the cigar", and now I want to find the other half to create something that would perhaps more resemble something in between a mild but strong cigarette and the aroma of a really rich pipe. Yes, that doesn't make much sense. I know.

That's the way I think of it too. It is like the wrapper leaf of an actual cigar. Important, but not the whole thing.

I'll leave out the MTS-VW and Bitter Wizard... (Darn, just included them)

For my Must-Have-FA's:
Virginia
Dark Vapure
Cuban Supreme
Caramel
Cookie
Burley
Butterscotch
Hypnotic Mist

The additional that are not quite Must-Haves:
P-Black
7 Leaves
White Peach
Concord Grape

The ones I want to get, but haven't yet:
Cucumber
Black Fire

Funny that you should call it pepper - I call it "licorice" or "anise". I'm familiar with it from other tobacco blends, but was very surprised to find that it is in Perique that it is this heavy and prominent. It's an interesting and nice taste (I first encountered it in EnJuice's Robusta - I got a no-nice sampler with my starting kit, and yes it might be called "peppery" at full strength, but diluted it is definitely "anise" or "licorice" to me), but when very dilute and on its own it skirts close to "perfume" sometimes. I go back and forth between whether I like it on its own or not.

Unfortunately it seems that EM is not "soft" for me at all. Vinegar I already added - I am finding myself using that more and more. Sometime in the future I will also experiment with Malic acid instead of vinegar in tobacco-mixes, I have a feeling I might like that a lot.

Mellow Tobacco? Do you mean FA's Mellow Sunset, or are you talking about another manufacturer?

The other two FA's I did yesterday are also nice:

Shade seems to be more of blend-type (like the Ultimate-series). I get a little bit of the Perique-"licorice", a hint of the sharp "mildew/penicillin" (sorry, I can't think of another word for this taste/smell) from the Camtel, and some more that I don't yet have concepts/words for. This one I might even try at a slightly higher concentration.

Cuban Supreme was a big surprise to me - I sort of expected a dark cigar flavour - very _dark_, heavily cured, that sort of thing. Like a more aromatic version of the heavy dry flavour of my own extraction from some cheap cigarillos.
It is definitely not a weak flavour even at 1%, but to me it is sort of "green", or "fresh". It is definitely tobacco, and there are things that my brain intereprets as "cigar" or "strong tobacco" because this is the one where I really feel the high-nic - I get that feeling of "oh dear, I will pay for this tomorrow" that I used to get when I occasionally smoked a small cigar or just spent some time in a closed space with people who smoked strong cigars.

This is definitely the most interesting or challenging of this trio. Your sure are giving this a go Tona and thats inspiring me because the guys here are more likely to tweak and work on a tobacco with more patience. The bottle I have is is called Mellow Tobacco from Flavour Art I think they changed the name to Mellow Sunset after I bought it. Just for some background I delved into Flavour Art exclusively the first month of DIY. Some 12 flavors or so. I only ended up liking 2 of the tobaccos so far with a 3rd Cowboy coming in as I'm keeping it til I figure it out. I still have to try more of the tobaccos. I did not get a perfume quality to any-- more grassy or haylike notes there was one that was florally I guess and that one quickly departed my arsenal. Perique was the exception it has a spicey/peppery element to me probably something that is great in a multi mix but not so great for me on its own. The 7 Leaves is always out of stock so I never got that one or Burley. Then I moved onto Flavorwest Tobaccos- a couple good but nothing to write home on their own about as the base they use is more perfumey to me and much weaker.

Yeah I agree with some of those must haves will still have to get the Burley and the Hypno and Black Fire because even if its too smokey for me my guy likes that kind of quality.

You let us know when you try the cucumber...lol

1/4 of a teaspoon in what size bottle? What percentage and strength does that put the EM at? I only have prediluted so far so those crystals are interesting to me.

I would start at 1 % if you are sampling each one on its own but thats just me. The desired % for particular best taste is going to vary from person to person and if you are doing a fruit mix with multiple fruits its best to know if they are all of equal strength or not to begin with. I do use the Lorann Tart and Sour lately on the several fruits I have.

What does Zen Garden taste like? Yeah I think you need the sweetener-- I just ordered more too.

Zen Garden is kind of an herbal flavor, but it's got a kind of funk undertone like you smell on mango. Hard to describe, but one of my favorites!

Edit: I think it might be an attempt at a ........-themed flavor, but don't let that turn you off if you don't indulge. It's quite a nice flavor on its own.

Edit2: That got filtered, so let's try "pot". :D

Patti, I ordered some Catalan Cream and I'm looking forward to trying it after you recommended it. I also ordered Cinnamon Ceylon, Melon and Vienna Cream. I had used Vienna Cream in a chocolate recipe a long time ago and it was delicious. I'm hoping the Ceylon is a bakery cinnamon??

I haven't taken any time to individually test my flavors...I should probably do that some day. I've made quite a few successful mixes though, so I guess I got the knack for it. ;) I tried it in a Lemonade mix and 1% didn't do anything...so I'll probably try it at like 3-5% and see what happens.

You are going to loooove the Catalan cream. If not, we'll do that trade we mentioned before ;)
I thought about Vienna cream, but I'm not a big mixer, meringue fan, and with catalan cream, who needs it ;)

Ceylon is bakery...I honestly haven't had the need to use it lately since I'm vaping so many cap cin flavors...I'm close to o.d'ing on cinnamon lol!

When you try melon, you'll have to let me know what it's 'missing'. I like it, but it needs a little sump'n sump'n ya know?
Just tried black fire with cap apple pie...oh.....my.....gaaaaaawly it's tasty!
Cool_Breeze, what strength are you mixing it??

I'll have a go at figuring out the melon as well, since I have it on the way. No success with vendor's melons...they've all had this really nasty dryness to them, IMO. The melon part was always good, but the dryness wasn't so good.
