As I suggested "may be permitted" and the explicit authorization of any jurisdiction in my opinion negates the State's pre-emption of tobacco legislation enabling each and every jurisdiction in FL. Consequently it will likely result in an unlimited variation of harassment and exploitation of vapers and the vape industry. A morass of confusion in interpretation.

When I quit smoking I promised myself I'd never let government or the tobacco industry victimize me again, or turn me into a second class citizen.

That is exactly what this so called constitutional amendment does to all of us here.

The intention clearly is not to balance the interests or protect the public but to scatter us like bugs and step on us along the way.

Good luck to you all. :)

Not exactly. As I see it, what they couldn't do through legislation, as politically unpalatable in FL, they now accomplish by subverting the constitutional right; thus, making it essential that legislation be written to correct it.

Too much power in the hands of the people is a dangerous thing. So naturally they must undo that in the most perverse manner possible, for our own good.

Good luck. :)

I don’t mean the methodology, I mean the effect. My state’s laws have been even worse for years now.

I have been too busy working to worry about vaping but it's the weekend so I can go back to worrying about it, I think.

This is unfortunate. No vaping stuff going on in our county that I know of, but they keep doing weird stuff like adding a raise to the ballot (for them, our county leadership) and when it gets voted DOWN (unsurprisingly) finding a way to do it anyway. I swear.

I sort have begun thinking that "voting" in our country is not real at all and all the political stuff is like Kabuki Theater (which it is whether elections are actually "real" at all) but I'm trying hard not to think about it too much.

At least there kind of WAS a vaping heyday. LOL.

This was George carlin’s espoused belief. Not sure I agree with it but I can definitely see it.

Def intrigued about what may happen to vote counts for this amendment in the canvassing process. To me it seems extraordinary that 62% of voters would affirm this particular amendment simply looking at the drilling aspect. Although I could see an even split among voters for the revenue appeal to the State (and potentially better fuel prices). In other words, there are competing commercial or market interests as well as the environmental. So the election result to my thinking seem logically skewed, not just politically.

I'm concerned that were there some anomalies in the count confirmed that the effect on amendments won't even be considered or proportionately applied to the vote for this provision. That is, unless there is some public imperative to accomplish it. If such were, we might see the results perhaps dropping below the required 60% for passage. Anyone familiar with this in FL, may we have your thoughts?

Good luck. :)
