Thanks unsure, I used Minwax spray can clear lacquer but I did wet sanding with 1000 and 1500 grit between every 10 coats or so (I lost count ) then after the last coat I wet sanded with 2500 grit the whole mod and applied cutting paste and buffed then polishing paste and buffed to a high shine. All in all a real long process but I may have done a bit of an overkill in hindsight. It probably would have been just fine with half the coats
