Flying into Mexico City with gear.

Quick one folks.

I know this has been discussed a bunch of times, but the Travel forum is not showing up on my phone.

Has anyone flown into Mexico, specifically Mexico City, recently with their gear? I know how to pack and was successful in going to Cancun a couple of years ago.

tl;dr - Just wondering if the situation has lighten up at all?

What you need to know: vaping is legal in Mexico, however under federal law, you can not sell, trade, promote, distribute or produce any vape related products. Unbelievably, e-cigarettes are governed by a law first introduced to regulate the sale of candy cigarettes. There is no law against taking your ecig with you when you visit Mexico but there have been reports of devices being confiscated by customs.

Thanks Ranger. I did see that.

I always look for vape shops wherever I travel and forgot about whatever regulations that may still exist in Mexico.

But, I did see there are quite a few nice looking vape shops in the city that sell mods and juice.

I'm just wondering if I need to sweat it like I did last time.

Don't take so much gear it looks like you're going to sell any, and personally I would only take dependable equipment that you're willing to lose.

Mexico City is surprisingly smoke free. Haven't been to a shop, yet.

Customs was no problem, no green light/red light upon entering .

We'll see. I heard the laws are a lot harsher there.

The only place to buy is at that market where the trains run through it. The vendors have to clear up their tables on the hour.
