Any juice left in a tank will leak with the pressure changes. I fly quite often and I empty my primary tanks before I go and use a cheap low capacity tank until I get to the airport, then I trash it before security. Everything should go through fine as long as it isn't assembled. Take the batteries out and store them in a separate case if you have it. The juice will need to be shown and packed in a plastic baggy. I would suggest taping the tops to help avoid leaking. Once you get to your destination you can fill up a tank in the bathroom, plug in the batteries and be ready to go once you leave the airport.

Yes, in carry on.
Like already said, e liquid goes in your quart size ziplock with other liquids, batteries removed and placed inside a plastic battery case.
I have some luck minimizing leaks by storing bottom coil delivery device upside down with liquid level below wicking holes, dry the center/air tube then stuff some paper towel in the drip tip.

The last flight I was on I actually forgot to empty out my Subtank. While I don't recommend it (it leaked eveywhere inside my backpack), it goes to show that they won't hassle you over a small amount of e-liquid. The limit is supposedly 100mL but I've heard they're more inclined to make you empty the liquid than actually go through the trouble of measuring the exact amount. The actual 30mL bottles I would put in your checked baggage though for sure. Lithium batteries go in carry-on (in secure battery cases, ideally), that's a rule at most airports. Devices and everything else can go through carry-on just fine.

Every time I've put liquid in with checked luggage it has massively leaked, no matter what precautions Ive taken to prevent it.
I've also stuffed so many 30ml bottles in my carry on ziplock it was hard to get zipped, 5 120ml bottles more than once, not a word was said.

I've never had liquid leak in my checked luggage, but I went through quite a bit to make sure it was secure. Used one of those sandwich baggies, tightly secured it over the top, rubber-banded it down, then covered the bad boy in cling wrap, THEN stuck it in a ziplock bag. Mind you, I was only traveling with one big 120mL bottle, but yeah. No issues like that.

I also wrap all my potential leakables (cologne, etc.) in a towel whenever I travel, just in case (if it does leak) it'll mostly get absorbed by the towel, rather than my clothes.

I wouldn't risk taking more than 100mL in my carry-on just in case they make you pour it out/toss it. I've heard of it happening.

Just my luck I guess,
Ive sealed them with the leak proof / factory tin seals you see on some liquid contains becuz I have a machine that will do that.
Then wrapped it in 4 layers of light gauge shrink wrap & heat shrunk it (waterproof) then put it inside a heavy freezer ziplock.
Get to my destination and 1/3 or more has leaked into the ziplock.

I never had a bottle leak in carry on unless it was to the very top / overfull zero air space.
