I got my vape mail, I got my vape mail, and it is sexy, and it is sexy
First impressions/Turtle Ship V2: - What a relief, the Turtle Ship V2 appears to be everything that I had hoped for. The most striking impression straight away is the near invisible seams between the tubes. Based on the pictures on FC's website, I had no reason to expect this. Yet again, we have another mod that is much better looking in person, than the website photos lead you to believe.
The machining and engravings on this mod are very nicely done, and every piece threads on, and off as it should. After receiving this mod, and testing the different battery configurations, I have reason to believe that this is NOT the same Turtle Ship V2 that Fasttech carries.
A couple of FT customers complained on the forums about not being able to completely close up their tubes with nipple and flat 18350 batteries, nor could they get any atty to sit flush in the 350 configuration. One forum user also said that you could clearly see the seams between tubes from 2 feet away. But the most common complaint was a loosey goosey delrin insulator/battery rattle adjuster in the bottom cap, and a very crunchy switch ... None of these issues are present on the mod that I received.
The only flaw that I can see so far, which is utterly minor, is the insulator in the top cap is not laying completely flat all the way around the insulator. On half is completely flat, with the other side is slightly raised up by 2 hairs. However, it not affecting connectivity, or my ability to flush mount the KFL, or close up the tubes.
Kayfun Lite sku 12113: This one comes will a full parts package including a double sided screwdriver, o rings, extra screws, pre wrapped coils, and a clear tank. The KFL is packaged with the stainless steel tank installed. Out of the package it was very clean, with only a slight smell of machine oil. The catch screws on this baby are tiny, so it will be interesting to see how this works out this 30gauge wire. All of the parts/sections are properly machined, and fit as they should.
As per usual, after I have had a chance to use both for a week, or so, I will post a proper review.
