That happens a lot around here. I keep telling myself to stop reading this thread. Good luck with that willpower thing, it has failed me.

Yeah, your willpower is no bueno  ... So when are you getting a 4nine? I know you want one ... I know it!

Good thing I'm nipple challenged or you would be right :) Currently I have at least 6 fresh 650's and about 10 350's. After I kill a few of those off I may reconsider, but for now that is one temptation I just don't have to worry about.

Ahhh ish! You are so right halfempty .. of all the black RBA's out there, the black kayfun 3.1 at FC is gorgeous to me, at least in those pics .. and so I have just planned my first Black set up. Black and red FOL and 3.1  ... I wouldn't mind if they sold only single tubes though. I never used the 650 tubes in the mod sets.

Ok ok ... my current wish list is GP Heron, Penny Mod, Rose gold Kayfun, black and red Fire of Life, black 3.1 .. I could also use a Kayfun base, I wish somebody sold just the base.

I don't see it now, but I'm pretty sure Kayfun Lite Plus & 3.1 Replacement Parts - EVcigarettes.com used to sell just the base.

It doesn't appear that they do .. although they do have a very long list of other Kayfun replacement parts, which is good to know. Maybe I will put up a want ad for one.

You may try contacting them. I'm guessing they buy complete units and break them down themselves. If that is the case the base is the one part they wouldn't need to advertise to sell out of.

The black Fire of Life set reminds me of this walking cane that I have .. I used it in dance routines and stick fighting :D .. I gotta take a pic of my cane for you guys too see, cuz now I feel like I might need this black and red FOL to match my cane :p

Man the black FOL is awesome, SS one too! I cancelled my GUS order now I gotta decide which one I want first. Painted threads make me wonder about voltage drop but damn it's sexy.

Your post is right on time because I was going to post some "special notes" about the new Fire of Life mods posted today, which I agree look AMAZING! ...

First .. The brass FOL is 22mm, and has a spring loaded switch however, the SS and Black FOL is 23mm, and has a magnetic switch. So folks need to be aware that two of these are 23mm mods, which is of no issue to me because I love 23mm devices, and they are perfect for my Taifun's and Squape.

What I am loving about the FOL is the very deep engraving on the body, and switch, and the fact that two of them have magnetic switches ..

Check out my walking stick that matches with the Black TOL  .. I feel another vapeporn production in my future

I use this stuff to smooth out crunchy threads. I got a Poldiac from that other site that the bottom cap would hardly move on. I just gooped up the threads and spun it together a couple times and now it is very smooth. This has become a standard part of the cleanup I do on every new mod I get. It's basically sandpaper in a paste form and I although I don't have a coated mod to try it on, I think it would clean threads without damage.

Well, it may be a not smart idea... But as far as i imagine electricity going shortest way no matter what you try to do with it. So why do not clean only 5-10 mm "gup" on each part of mod? counting that way they will contact each other when mod is put together. Would it do a same thing like if you clean a hole thread?

My 4nine finally arrived today. I was wondering though, I have 18650's with nipples on them. How is that supposed to work, I thought that's the battery type that you were supposed to have. I have fooled around with it and screwing down the top-cap just compresses the negative space created by the magnets and i'm pretty sure if I screwed my atty on it would be locked into "button being pressed" as there is NO give on the button. I did jiggle the button to make sure it was all the way down. I'll vape 18350 until I hear back.

As an aside, I thought the group buy was for brass or copper or something? Mine is silver. I checked my receipt and apparently that's the item that I got off the group buy (Item 4nine style Mod - Silver), although I followed the group buy link. Not a big deal, just curious.

*EDIT: The delrin ring on the top cap was one issue, it wasn't fully seated/screwed in causing it to take up more of the negative space in the tube. I thought this would completely fix the issue, however upon screwing both my KFL+ clone and Igo-M both purchased from focalecig, If i screw to "flush" the device is locked into firemode as there is no play for the battery. This is in 18650 mode. The button press with no atty on, mod fully assembled gets almost to halfway of the recession in the base of the device.

In 18350 mode there seems to be the proper amount of play in the button, and the button with no atty is able to be fully pressed to the line of the recession.

With either the KFL+ clone or the Igo-M on even in 18350 mode the button press needed to active becomes insanely small, maybe 1/4 of the recessed part, maybe as little as between 1/5 and 1/4 for with the KFL+ on it.

The only other "adjustable piece" besides if you use the 2 extensions included for the different battery types would be the battery magnet with the activating pin threaded inside it. That piece doesn't really do much though in terms of adjustment.

The group buy was for the stainless steel 4nine, not the brass ... not sure how that confusion happened?

ETA: oops, I miss read your post ... what kind of 18650 did you get? Its not protected is it?

Ah my fault on the confusion, I thought the picture was not silver for some reason.

I didn't get the batteries from Focal, but they are the red Efest V2's. I have 2 18650 and 2 18350's. Non protected IMRs I'm pretty certain.
I use those form FT , they work pretty good for me a long time.

Really? That is weird .. in all honesty, I only use the 4nine in 350 and 500 mode, and I only have flat top 650's, no nipples, so I have never tried nipple tops in this configuration.

Are you sure that your switch is properly seated in the tube? There is a catch groove inside the tube that the switch can catch on, and not fall fully into position in the tube.

Not doubting what you are saying, just trying to be certain of the issue ...
