You should choose your wire gauge based on the resistance result you want from your build. Higher gauge = higher resistance, lower gauge =lower resistance.
If you are a planning on running it in dual coil, I would use the 32 gauge because its thinner, and easier to capture both coil leads on the positive post. If I had one criticism for this particular Kraken it would be the washer on the positive post. I found it very difficult to get a good dual coil build with 30 gauge, had more success with 32.
But I also prefer the Kraken in single coil mode any ways ... the Kraken is a great RBA, flavor w/ss mesh is stellar, and vapor production is second to none. The air flow control is the best on the Kraken.
Battery: Sure a Sony is fine if you choose, but that is a lot of unnecessary power for a regulated device that will never use even half of the batteries current capacity. But again, there is nothing wrong with using a Sony VTc5. Any quality IMR 18650 will due, and Sony is not the only good 650 battery out there. There is AW, Samsung INR, Panasonic, some Sanyo's and LG's.
Being that you are buying for a regulated device with a limited output of 5A, any of those that I named above will suffice.Hope this helps ya!
ETA: whoops .. I lied .. the difference between those two Krakens is the manufacturer .. the parts packages are similar, but I am more familiar with the manufacturer of the $18 Kraken .. I have no idea who makes the other, or how the quality would be

Well I ordered that ss fire of life and two taifun dripper kits and 2 kayfun nano quartz kits from ft.
So I got a few things coming.. im really excited for these dripper kits think they look slick and should be fun to play with.
Got my GB 4nine today, damn USPS marked undeliverable yesterday so I go to the post office and the address is correct. First mod I had to clean immediately, was a little annoying to have that horrid smelling machine oil on my hands going into work but no biggie. Am I missing something in the design or is there nothing stopping it from auto firing if tilted down?

Agreed! My buddy Nelson64 sent me some links about the authentic Taifun dripper some time a go, and I think its cool to have that option to change it up, especially since I have two Taifun's.
I am so jelly right now! I think both Fire of Life mods are hot as hell, and I love the red accents on them. If I don't have one by the time that you get yours, you must come back and post pics and thoughts about it. I will live vicariously through you.

Yes, you are ... the switch is activated by the force of opposing magnet, and the magnetic delrin spacer attached to the battery will not allow it to fire simply because you turn it upside down .. so you're good. Its funny that you ask this because I have actually had my 4nine upside down for the last hour or so to keep my wicks from over saturating.

Sorry Nikki, I didn't order the Heron. At some point or another I use all my tanks at work. Did some research and the tank section not being screwed on, just held by o-rings, is not healthy for me since I tend to grab them out of my pocket by the tank. Maybe later when I again start using tanks at home more I'll get that one.
Now for what I did order: another Paps!
I must be a glutton for punishment! I got the 18500 one to see if maybe I can kick it, and that way with enough identical top and bottom caps I should be able to put together at least one mod that will work
