My favorite color is blue, but admit looking at the pics, not a fan of this blue, if I do get one, think it will be the black or silver one, more than likely the black :p

Ya, I don't care for that blue at all .. but I am happy that I was able to get the Gold, and I think its a nice gold too. My first pics don't really capture the color well, but I will make sure that I do in my review.

I love the variant but that battery mah.....

The battery life is actually much better than you would think especially below 20W .. the largest battery that you can fit in this is 1300mah. There are a ton of noobs on FT pulling up links of 5000 mah batteries that would never fit in this  I bought an extra 1300mah battery from the US, but I still have to solder the connections.

I have ordered it after you told me about it, be a prefect work mod, and with coupon code and gift cert, was only 27 and change, if you don't get it, then I will let you see mine :p

I know, how crazy is it that I skype you to tell you to get this mod, yet I am sitting on the fence? I really like it, but I just don't need it. But I am thinking that I could use my new, soon to be married batteries in it after I am done with the T8 review because I have no plans to keep it when done.

I have the silver box one from FT ($20) and its fantastic. I also have the Yiloong and love it, but the wick channels at the top of the deck are nearly non existant. So I cut them in with a Dremel.

I had the FT 20$ and 17$ versions, built them and sold them the next day. Then I got the A-Mod version and this is a lot better. The filling o-rings stay where they should, no leakage while filling, perfect threads and easier to wick. I run the Erl at 1ohm at the moment without problems. The FT versions were always between leaking and dry hits. I like the A-Mod version and will keep it.

I like the tank capacity, the filling and the weight, but for me the Erl is only playing in the Kayfun League.

I'll build it after dinner.
The only place I can see it shorting out is where that "nugget/reducer" thing is (that hunk of metal that covers up the holes). Make sure it's not touching the center post. Then tighten the screw down that holds it so it doesn't move (learned that lesson on the Pulse G). If you're using mesh, you're on your own. I don't know anything about mesh. That vid I posted a few pages back minimizes contact of the legs. Maybe try that build.

Ha, there you go. I guess those nugget things aren't anodized like they're supposed to be.

Thanks Cindy. I've been building my coils without the reducers on so that is not the cause of the short. Looks like another user is also having the same issue with the FC Origen. I'm not sure what this deck is made of but it looks like the coil is either shorting or the deck is not conducting at all. Either way, none of my builds even fire on the rDNA. Keep getting a check atomizer error. Also I'm not building with mesh, just putting a coil on with no wick.

I've contacted FC. They wanted a video which I've sent to them so hopefully I can just return it.

Thank you Rudi for the feedback ... now can you help me get the Plastic tank of this bugger? The damn thing is completely sealed, I cannot pull the tank off .. I put it in the freezer for 20 minutes, and nothing. So I can't even use this because its like the tank is glued to the body

Where do I get one please?

Eh, so I got a used Zen ZNA A version today (serial #220 for the people who care about such things) and compared it to my Robbot ZNA.

The differences were truely miniscule. I'll have to ask my cousin if I can borrow his Canon Rebel to do a decent comparative photoshoot.

Too be honest, I'm surprised Robbot didn't do a better job cloning it, since they came so very, very close to getting it perfect. That being said, if you are on the fence about buying a ZNA clone, Robbot's version is as close as anyone will ever come, period.

Focal is actually stocking the IPV Mini, and in the US warehouse to boot!

Hopefully they'll still be around when I get paid again in another week. I've been thinking about picking it up, and Nikki's preliminary review was solid enough.

Sounds like a win-win to me.

I've been please with all of my Focal US warehouse purchases to date.

Could you take off the two part top cap? The upper part, which seals the filling holes, is also a tool that helps to unscrew the lower top cap part from the tank tube. If the tube sticks in the base I would use some liquid. When you screw the base on a mod, it should be possible to bend the tank carefully a little bit in different directions to get it loosened. I had no problems to get it off.

That's tempting. Then I think about blowing the budget to get a ZNA 30 clone by Robbot. I just know I'd like the feel of the ZNA, but I could get the IVP and have plenty left over for more batteries, etc. Wish the local B&M had a Mini to see what it handled like...

Yep, use the top part of the top part of the Erlk to unscrew the bottom part of the top. Then push down on the chimney to pop the tank off.

Both of my Erlks luckily have fantastic threads. No leaks or dry hits or anything that would be a problem. Some peoples' clones from FT were unfortunately not as good as mine. The IBTanked glass fits my silver box one as well, but did not fit some.

Oh sweet you finally received your authentic :) .. I am not surprised by your comparison feedback since Mike himself also said the Robbot was the best clone of his ZNA. I would love to see some comparison pics with the slight differences you mentioned, especially since I will have the 50W version on Monday, and its the same body ... although I wished that it came with the new colored tubes.

Hopefully there will still be some left when you are ready to get it .. the good news is that there are quite a few vendors selling them, so you will definitely get one, one way or another. :)

The whole thing is stuck, the two part cap too .. I will try to remove just the top cap for a third time later. But really I have never had just a hard time taking a RBA apart in my life! Frustrating :(
