Pardon any intrusion, permission to assume temporary orbit with a load of baggage. ;)

Reaching trigger threshold for my first order at Focal. Here to say many thanks to everyone for all the input. Think I will go for the Squape some day, but I'm saving that day for something special. Like the day I decide to stop being so cheap. A two-fer.

Thread is refreshing, I enjoy these settings in my mind. Think I need to stay out of any controversial threads for a while. What the hell is it with the internet and these forums? Does everyone get sucked in like this? Suddenly I seem to care so much about crap I never gave a damn about. Quitting drinking is tough and these forums make it even worse, forget smoking. Naw, just joking around but not really. :D

Anyway, the mini protank 2 clones look good for ten bucks each, I'm getting 2. Also one of those little dinky mini X9 tanks, no clear ones to be found but I'll get a purple in honor of Jimi Hendrix. Says the coil heads are not replaceable in the description but looks like a replaceable Kanger head in the pics. Anyone know? Will be rebuilding with Kanthal and cotton as has been my ritual for many moons, just for the record.

Saw a new glass tank for like $4 and a half at Fasttech, the dimpled one, round fanny, looks cool, but they are kind of scaring me away lately with all the stocking issues, I don't know what to think. So thanks everybody.

PS -- Nikkita6, would you run for President of the United States, please? Love to be your Chief of Staff if you would have me. Only a Vulcan as evil as me could liaise between a world this twisted and an individual Jeddi so charismatic and brilliant.

Ohms, my darling boo, I have been missing you on the forums for the last few days. :) Seriously, another 48 hours and I was gonna send a really dramatic pm!

Stay here with us oh faithful one, its a save haven where drama very rarely breaks out, although it has happened, just thankfully not very often. :) ...

Now the X9 tank? Honestly not sure about this one. I see what you mean in that the coil heads appear to be identical to kanger, but I have never purchased one of these. What you could do is shoot dear Doris an email, or go to the skype link, and ask her. Better to be safe, than sorry.

And as far as Nikki for President, and you as Chief of Staff?? Of course I would have you! I think we would make a brilliant, and highly effective pairing in the daunting task of regulating Chaos. :D ... And according to Chaldean Numerology, my name was intended to be remembered throughout the ages, so you never know. ;-)

Thanks for everything, Nikki. Think I will skip the X9. Hell, now I think I might just get the Squape instead. Been looking for the next step up from the mini protank 2 but don't care much for side air-hole drippers, already tried a few like Igo-W and Chi-Triot. Just a preference, not hating. (Damn it is getting harder and harder just to be polite anymore, lol.) Love the bottom air flow of the protank and have the rebuilt coils down to a science, so I guess something like the Squape is the way to go.

I need glass or steel tanks, though. I have more (malic) acid in my DIY juices than Jerry Garcia had in his Kool-Ade. You guys, all your info is great, sorry I forgot the Likes as I was worming my way through here, but I'll try to remember from now on. :)

You are welcome dear! ... gonna take your chances on the Squape eh? For the record, we don't know who the manufacturer of the FC Squape is, and the above speculation by the new poster does not quite satisfy me. But if you are willing to give it a go, and report back, many of us will be very grateful. :D

Have you thought about one of the Kayfun variants??

Thought about the Kayfun, yeah. Will think more if you or anyone else here has a good opinion. Can't decided on Fasttech or Focal, first of all, hahaha! There are just so many different kinds, different clones, Taifun, Kayfun, will it be Allfun or Nofun? What's your take?

Edit: Good thing you are President because I am mired in indecision. I can't even remember all I read about the different ones, it's just all a damn blur in my mind now.

Well, the Kayfun is tried and true, and I have recently heard positive feedback on the Marstech Kayfun, the newer, less expensive Kayfun lite clone w/logo on body , and the kind of expensive Kayfun 3.1, all of which are available at Focalecig ... so there are a few to choose from there.

I am a fan of the Hcigar Taifun GT which Focal sells, but it is out of stock, with a few back orders pending, so I don't know how long it will before its back in stock, and those old orders are fulfilled.

Here's my thing with the Squape ... there is already a bit of controversy surrounding all the Squape clones because apparently there is a "bad clone" on the market, but the last time I checked, no one had a manufacturer name for the bad clone, so I have no idea who is selling it, or what the identifying specs are for it, aside from the fact that the chimney, and base do not have a true ematel, non conductive coating.

A youtube reviewer (Vapingwittwisted420) made some allegations that the FT variant was the "bad clone", but he would not give specifics on what is supposedly bad about it, or who makes it .. even after he was questioned directly about it, so I don't know how credible his opinion is on this.

I have also read that the Hcigar Squape no es bueno tambien  Reportedly the glass tank of the Hcigar is too thick, and ill fitting ... I have seen reviews (same youtube reviewer) for a Winsmok Squape that is supposedly amazing, the only thing is, I have not heard who is selling it online. I have never heard of Winsmok before, besides the favorable mention made by the one youtube reviewer.

I have read a comment from a verified owner that the Tobecco Squape is also a good one. But I don't have enough info regarding the specs for the Winsmok and Tobecco Squape clones to make a positive ID on sight ... The only one I can make a positive ID on is the Rainbow Heaven with the polycarbonate tank, but there is no user feedback on it that I am aware of.

The one critical aspect of the Squape is a properly cloned non conductive base and chimney. So based on all of this, I need more information before I can even put the Squape clone on my list ..... did all of this help to confuse you more? :D

Oh yeah, I read a bit of the scuttlebutt about the reviewer and the review of the Squape clone. More a reader myself, don't know much about the video guys so I am staying way the hell away from this one.

And sure, you did confuse the hell outta me, but that's my fault. Your information is simply grand and voluminous and I always love the way you present it. Swear, my mind ain't what it used to be. The way these kids keep up with these threads, I was like that once. Been feeling a little out of practice lately ... so maybe a new e-cig toy is the answer. But gonna wait for a few more reviews of what's what with the clone quality and all. Don't need nuthin right away. Probably go to hell for saying that on a site like this, but it's a short trip.

Squape with glass sounds good if it's good, maybe take a shot on that. Thanks again Nikki and you guys.

Here Here! I love my Kayfuns. I have several including a "real" and I love them all including all the little problems they have.
I would highly recommend the MarsTech one from Focal, it is solid, and about as cheap as you are going to get a solid one for.
I would NOT however recommend the nameless one with the logo (SvoeMesto) on it, UNLESS you don't mind a little hassle. What I mean is it is obvious that the low price on this one is offset by a total lack of quality control. Numerous and terrible problems have been reported with this, while some report no problems at all. Buyer Beware.

Perfectly put - no ematel, biggest problem, but I'll come back to this.

A youtube reviewer (Vapingwittwisted420) made some allegations that the FT variant was the "bad clone", but he would not give specifics on what is supposedly bad about it, or who makes it .. even after he was questioned directly about it, so I don't know how credible his opinion is on this.
The allegation was to the first FT Squape clone. He has openly endorsed the second (which is a Winsmok). He is credible, in so far as much he is a legit member here and also does youtube reviews on a lot of the cheap stuff he buys. You can read all about all this in the Squape FT discussions on each clone.

Haven't read anything about the HCigar one, but I have read the exact same thing about the EHPro one, that the glass is way too thick.
Winsmok makes a lot of clones, including Caravelas and rbas, Kayfuns, Nemesis, Omega drippers, etc... Just google them and they are all over Alibaba.

The Winsmok has a low profile top cap compared to all the rest. The have also recently made their build deck Olive Drab Green to distinguish it.
The Rainbow Heaven with the PC tank supposedly has little to no insulation on the build deck which is bad news.

The one critical aspect of the Squape is a properly cloned non conductive base and chimney. So based on all of this, I need more information before I can even put the Squape clone on my list ..... did all of this help to confuse you more? :D
This is where you hit the nail on the head. No matter who clones the darn thing, the base/build deck is still the problem. I keep seeing different manufacturers saying that they've anodized the deck - ? Anodizing is a process in which color is, simply put, infused into aluminum. Aluminum is the only thing that is anodized because it has always been very difficult to get traditional paint methods to properly adhere to aluminum. What does all this mean? Anodizing does NOT make something non-conductive. I do have to point out though that this may well be a translation error, although industrial terms such as this usually translate straight across. I know there are numerous people that have them and have had no problems, but it does make me a little cautious.

Bottom line - as with all these things, buyer beware on the Squape. My suggestion is, if you do buy one, use it on a regulated device with fail safes, that way if it does short on you you'll be protecting yourself. Vape Safe!
I do want to note, none of these things were aimed at Nikki, nor rebuttals, I merely wanted to expand on the points she had already made.

She could not tell me, only that it was the best :)
Gotta love the response time and honesty though!!!

Not surprised ... many pages back I stated that they often don't know who the manufacturer is because they don't purchase inventory from the manufacturer, they purchase through a supplier based on spec and style, not manufacturer name.

I know that the 18350 Caravela they carry is an EHpro because of EHpro's confirmed specs for this item, not because Focal told me, same thing for the Hcigar Taifun GT.

So unless we can get exact specs for each manufacturer, we also will not be able to tell who the manufacturer is.

I didn't take it as a rebuttal ... These Squape clones have a few potential buyers in a tizzy, trying to figure out which are the properly made one's. And I agree, anodized aluminum is not going to cut it. Aluminum is very conductive, way more so than stainless steel is, and therefore potentially problematic with regard to the increased risks of shorts.

If the cloning manufacturers could not produce the non conductive ematel coating, then they should have gone with a SS base instead because of its low electrical conductivity.

Now as far as Twisted being credible?? ... can't say I would agree. He is a relatively new vaper (one year or less), and a relatively new "rebuilder". Now I am not hating on the guy because I am subscribed to ole boy's channel, and I enjoy the entertainment value of his videos however, ... for lack of a better, more diplomatic way to put this, he is not the sharpest tack in the bunch. Some of his early on camera builds were almost excruciating to watch, and his technical understanding of the engineering behind these devices, and the rebuilding technique's that work best with them is rudimentary at best.

He started a thread on FT regarding this poly tank clone titled "ask me anything", and when many of us did precisely that, he could not produce any satisfactory answers to very simple questions, like "how you do know it sucks?", "who makes the bad clone?", "where did you get the bad clone?" .. He had a mild hissy fit, and exited ... not the kind of authority I would ever subscribe to.

If I am going to advise someone away from something, I should be able to fully explain why.

If you emailed them, you should receive a fairly prompt response, Doris and her team are very good about this. Just make sure you emailed your proper address, and order#, and I am sure the problem will be corrected.

Holy cow, Nikkita6 and Grayscale, you guys (and everyone else) are a wealth of information. And I only read back about 3 or 4 pages. I check back in this thread every couple of days, just to see what's new, as I wait for my shipment to get here. It's currently in transit, so I'm guessing next week some time.

Anyhow, now you guys have me wondering about the Squape. I had purchased one (Tobeco) during my initial purchasing frenzy from 101Vape. (thank goodness I've slowed down on the purchases) I've had it for a while (washed it when I first got it), but I actually haven't used it. I had too many shiny new toys coming in and it sort of fell to the the back of the line. I believe it has a glass tube.

Anyways, thanks for the warning regarding the faux ematel. I'll make sure if I pull it off the shelf, that I only use it on a protected, regulated device. And if anyone has any questions about the Tobeco Squape, I can pull it off the shelf and try to answer any questions. Of course as I mentioned I only visit here occasionally, so I can't promise any prompt responses.

So you have the Tobecco eh?? Well, I realize that you are not here everyday, but if you could take some photos of the device disassembled, so that we can peak inside, and see what's happening, that would be greatly appreciated. :D
