Your welcome. I hope I was able to get enough pictures and angles for you to get a good idea about it. Let me know if you need a different look at it.

On another note, here is part of my 2nd shipment which arrived today.

Initial impressions without actually using any of them:

Origin clone: I have a feeling I will dislike this one. The tubes have more wiggle than I'm use to when I screw them together. And the switch is pretty awful out of the box. It has ALOT of wiggle and keeps catching on something when I press it. Hopefully after taking it apart and messing with it will help.

Taifun GS: I wanted to compare it to the GT. I just quickly took it apart and put it back together. Seems pretty good. Comes in the same styled box as the GT, the one pictured in the back. It will need a good washing before use.

Fogger: I don't know, I haven't opened the package yet. :)

X8 Carto tank: It looks and feels very good. I'm looking forward to trying it out. Unfortunately one of the two came with a broken o-ring (I circled it in the picture). That part is a little disappointing. I will need to find out what size it uses and find some replacement rings.

Anyhow, those are just my initial impressions. And with that said, I have zero incoming vape mail. Yay! I hope I can stay away from anything shiny for a little bit. I hope everyone is doing well, thank goodness it's Friday... Now it's time to relax for a little bit.

Thanks for the update, we love pics around here. :D ... Surprised to hear that about the Origin clone as Delboy had such great things to say about it, but it could be a QC issue. The tubes may also feel more stable with a battery installed??

Taking apart my Caravela switch (it actually came undone) and putting it back together was like a Godsend. The switch is the best I have right now, smooth as butter, and I wished I would have had the right of mind to take it apart when I first got it....

For the X8, the Fogger V3 comes with a plentiful supply of Orings in varying sizes, so you may be able to use one of those to replace the broken one on X8 ... I have gotten more use of the Fogger spare parts bag, then I have the device itself. I have used those spares to mod two different mech switches, and a drip tip :laugh

Yeah, I took my Caravela clone from Focal apart and lubricated the switch threads as soon as I got it, and it definitely helped. That said, the threads on the clone are actually really great in my opinion, and certainly don't need any modification, but lubricating the switch definitely made it that much better.

Agreed! I have said it repeatedly in this thread, but the Caravela at Focal is a straight stunner ... Nothing cheap, or shoddy about this mod. I adore it.

OK, I just did a non-scientific comparison between the threading on the Origin from focalecig and my HCigar Nemmy and my Tobeco Turtle Ship. The threading is almost as good as the HCigar and definitely better than the Tobeco. With that said all three are fine and functional. Just the squeeking on the Tobeco throws me off a little. I really do hope I can make the switch functional as it really is a nice looking piece. Now I need to go edit my post above.

You made me giggle @ "non scientific comparison" .. I am glad the looks of the device is shaping up for you. I need a 21mm mod ... oh my wish list just keeps growing :p

I decided to try this company out, I ordered a Kraken clone, a Helios clone, and a trident clone. I was looking at the AIOS, and ordering a mech to go with it but I'm not sure which ones it would work with. Does anyone happen to know? TIA

Well the Aios is made to go with the Chi You ... you don't have to use it with the Chi, but that is its intended purpose.

Glad I could make you giggle. As you can probably tell, I'm a little OCD. :)
Plus I hope no one asks me how any of these items function, as I still haven't used them. Can you see the theme in my posts? LOL. And this is why waiting for a shipment is not a big deal to me.

Sorry, I should of been clearer. When I was looking at Fasttech they listed 3 (I think) Chi You clones that the AIOS didn't work with. I'm not sure if Focal is the same, and it only works with certain ones.

I also thought that I read that the AIOS will work with the Astro. The Chi You's diameter is listed at 24mm, the Asto at 23mm and the AIOS at 25mm.

I was wrong about the threading on the tubes. So hopefully your switch works better than mine out of the box. I edited my post.

Now I'm off to wash my Origin and play around with the switch.

Well of course this is good news eh? These are kinds of situations that one wishes to be wrong about! ;-)

Keep in mind that the diameter measurements are for the larger part of the mod ... ex: the large air flow ring on the Chi you is 24.5mm, but the top cap where the atty sits is actually 23mm on the Chi. The same applies to the Aios, it the ring that is 25mm, the base with the 510 connection is 23mm ... The Astro is 23mm uniform.

And yes, the Aios can be used with other devices, expect for the hybrid version. Email Focal to make sure that the Aios they sell is compatible with the Chi they just put up.

Yes, I have noticed the theme ... and you should know that there are starving vapers in the world (hint hint) ... It's a crime Genghis, its a crime to let all that good vapers loot go to waste. Don't make me come to New Mexico! Didn't you know, I work for vape gear protective services!

Christopherja, what did you use to lubricate the switch? I've tried searching for some answers, but I haven't found anything definitive yet.

LOL. Yeah I'm feeling a little guilty. Poor things just sit there and stare at me. I haven't even used my authentic KFL+ in a few weeks. I'm awful! But, please, please do not send vape gear protective services to my door. I would cry!

OK, cleaning is done. And have you ever taken anything apart and thought, oh my, I hope I can get this back together? I believe the switch contains 8 separate pieces. And either I forgot or didn't know, but there are two magnets in the switch instead of a spring. Now regarding it's function....... it's better now. BUT, dang this thing is finicky! If anyone takes it apart, please remember that the center piece at the bottom of the base unscrews out. Then when reassembling it, you'll have to make sure everything is screwed back on pretty well. If anything is loose or not put back together properly it will get wonky and not perform correctly. I believe this was the problem out of the box. It wasn't assembled correctly.

There were some loose metal pieces that were still hanging on from the machining. I was able to get most of it off with a finger nail, and others I just scrapped off with a paperclip (hard to reach places). And there are two slots machined out near the 510 connection (for air flow) that still feel pretty sharp, so I won't be using this until I can get a chance to file them down a little. I don't want to accidentally scratch up any of my toppers.

Now with all of that being said, barring any problems getting it to fire, it's alright. :) I'm not a fan of the locking ring on the switch and I hope I never have to take the switch apart again. But for the price, it's an interesting little mod clone. It measures exactly 21 mm wide and now I have something to use with my Aqua clone which is staring sadly at me.

Focalecig just posted $2.55 QQ Electronic Cigarette Atomizer Coil Head - Silver (1.4-1.6 Ohm) for 2.60 piece... Kinda pricy. I wonder if its posible rebuild them (what i never done with any coils). Other way it has to be in stock all the time

So true ScandaLex! .. btw, how is that acute case of shinyitis treating you these days? Being that I am at least partially responsible for one of your recent flair ups, it is only right that I inquire about the status of your present vow of vapeporn celibacy. .. confess gurlfriend, did you give it up to the crystal nasty??

*hands head* I may acquire a GP Paps or Poldiac. :p

Well, you can use any number of lubricating products...but my father used to use simple Vaseline, from tins, and that's what I've used. It's of course a temporary solution, and you don't want to use too much, but it certainly works.
