The color on that copper Nemmy is soooo pretty! :) And I like that purple tank section w/the kayfun/Nemmy set up too. How long before you receive your Rose copper kayfun???

I am DIY happy today because my new flavors are really really good, although one of them is disappointing (snickers bar). The green caramel apple is perfect, a well balanced, clean, full flavor. The captain crunchberries is good too, although I would like more of a milk taste to round out the flavor. My blends tend to be 60/40 or 70/30 VG/PG ratio ... I actually need to get some extra PG myself because my xc116 wick likes a 50/50 blend.

Copper Nemmy. I did try few colors for back up and different engels, but doesn't show it right, that pics most close. My rose Kayfun is in Ontario i think, so hope it will be here soon, i can't wait. Really thinking to sell good part of my collection, my interest got changed a lot and all that stuff sit and collecting dust.

DIY. I just got banana from Cappela, omg its disgusting, so not happy, some (no how banana) after taste... brrr, 2 weeks steeping didn't help anyhow. Blueberry, raspberry, strawberry w/cream (all capella's) at 20% turned out pretty good but they heavy vg will have to remix it to get 50/50 or 60/40 vg/pg. Gona work with chocolate and such today, gona get tons of base premixed (my nicotine is 100mg) and just get it all done at once. All ready done all research on all flavors what i have, just need time without kids around.

Edit: i got 2 mods from FT for $12 ea with side button (what is kinda pretty ugly). Well they crappy looking but work like charms. I put them in 18500 and 18650 mods and they are my to go, so i do not care if i drop it or scratch and they will work. Purple tank (deepens on e-juice) gets blood-red or fuchsia color, so match one of them.

That looks really good Marilyn, I like it .. kinda want it too. You said the jewel in the button was preventing it from standing, but it doesn't look like its protruding in the pics .. is that still the case?

You should definitely put up your unused gear in the classifieds, I do it all the time. Like you said it doesn't make sense to keep stuff just sitting around unused.

The quality of Capellla's flavors have gone down considerably since I started using them 3 years ago. Capellas used to be the best IMO, and now I don't even bother with them at all. They changed the formulas on all my favorite flavors, which was majorly disappointing.

I agree, sometimes the nicest details of a mod are on the top cap, and/or switch ... I love the top cap on the silver Astro, too bad I, nor anyone can see it.

Yes. The point of it sticks out just enough to throw it off balance. I can't get a good pic to show that. It's not that big of a deal for me, I rarely just set mine up anyway. I have stands and holders everywhere. It's very pretty in there so I wouldn't want to take it out.

Looks good. Can't wait to get mine.
Thanks for posting the pictures :)
What 1mm difference are you talking about?

The nzonic is one mm bigger than the kayfun. I put my Taifun on it last night and the finish is EXACTLY the same. The lines on the nzonic make the seam look like part of the device, perfect fit. I need another Taifun...

So how is the shipping from here? Better than fastech? They have a Stingray Clone I like at a fantastic price.

For any item that is in stock, I would say it about the same, both companies use Epackets to the US. Just make sure you read the item listing carefully for shipping times. If you have a question, you can ask here, or email CS directly.

I just received the SS Stingray a few days ago, and I love it, its gorgeous, and very well made.

Review: Squape clone by Winsmoke

rs29BV7.jpg

The Squape clone featured in this review is made by Winsmoke, and was purchased from Focalecig.com (sku 13165) as part of a Group Buy promotion for $14.90, with the regular sale price being $22.74. The original Squape rebuildable atomizer is made by the Switzerland based StattQualm, and retails for $150.00 USD.

Squape specs

Product Type: Rebuildable Atomizer
Brand: Winsmoke
Color: Silver
Material: Stainless Steel body, anodized aluminum chimney & deck, Glass tank
Connection: 510
Liquid capacity: 5.2mL
Diamter: 22.8mm
Weight: 96 grams
Parts: two extra thumb screws, 3 o rings, 1 allen wrench, silica wick

The Squape is a bottom coil rebuildable atomizer which is similar in function to the Kayfun RBA, yet very different in several ways. Unlike the Kayfun which receives its air from the body of the device, the Squape receives its air through two air holes on either side of the 510 connection, along with corresponding air flow channels on the bottom of the device that extend from the outer diameter of the base, up to the air holes found on the 510 connection.

BUILD QUALITY

The Sqaupe clone by Winsmoke is very well made with a thick stainless steel body, inner glass tank, silver anodized aluminum chimney bell, olive green anodized and non conductive build deck, and drip tip. The threads on the base of the device are well machined, although there is a slight bit of resistance when screwing the main body on, and off the base. I believe that the “resistance” is intentional, so as to prevent accidentally unscrewing the main body from the base when removing the Squape from a PV/APV. There is no grinding, or squeaking within the threads.

The catch screws on the base can be tightened/untightened by hand, or with a flat head screw driver. The wick channels are wide, and deep across the base of the device. The most delicate aspect of this appears to be the anodized aluminum chimney bell, which is thin, and light in terms of weight.

There are some build details, and aesthetic differences between the Squape clone by Winsmoke, and the original Squape made by StattQualm. The original Squape has a PMMA tank section, while the Winsmoke clone features a glass tank. The aesthetic design proportions of the main stainless steel body also vary between the original, and clone.

The chamfered top on the clone is shorter, and flatter across the top, and the textured window section is also longer than the original. In my personal opinion, due to the these slight aesthetic differences, the clone is more attractive than the original Squape by StattQualm.

Building the Squape is as easy as rebuilding a Kayfun. The thumb screws are very easy to work with by hand, or a flat head screwdriver. In the photo demonstration below, I have built the coils using 30 gauge Kanthal, with a 5/6 wrap on a rounded toothpick, which metered out to 1.3 ohms.

PERFORMANCE

The most critical aspect of rebuilding the Squape, and having it perform properly, is wicking. The wick channels are very wide and deep, and require a fair amount of wicking material in order to prevent gurgling, and flooding. Using cotton as pictured in the photos below, I used enough cotton wick to not only fill the top wick channels of the device, but I also kept the cotton wicks long enough to extend half way down into the side juice channels, which contrary to early build directives for the Squape, is ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY in order to prevent gurgling and flooding.

Laying the cotton wick across the top wick channels only is not sufficient to prevent the Squape from flooding. I typically do not use e liquids with a VG ratio lower than 50%, and with e liquids containing a VG ratio as high as 70%, I found that the Squape did gurgle if I did not extend my wicks at least half way into the side juice channels of the deck.

In wicking the Squape in the manner described above, I have not experienced a single dry hit.

Filling the Squape is easy. Using the included allen wrench, install the chimney bell into the main body of the device. You can use either a needle nose bottle, or a syringe to fill the Squape by inserting the bottle tip, or needle between the chimney bell, and main body. The Squape has a 5ml e liquid capacity, and it will take a little practice to gauge when the Squape is full, since seeing into the space between the chimney, and body is not the easiest.

OVERALL IMPRESSIONS

If you are a fan of either the Kayfun, or the Taifun GT, I see no reason why one would not enjoy the Squape as well. The Squape seems to combine the best aspects of both the Kayfun and Taifun GT, with its bottom coil/chimney design, and the ability to work on your build without having to dump your e liquid first. The Squape clone by Winsmoke also has the one thing that neither the Kayfun, or Taifun GT offer, and that is a glass tank.

In my opinion, the Squape offers a denser, fuller vape than the Kayfun, but I would say that the flavor production is about equal to the Kayfun. Any issues with internal shorts that were found in the earlier batches of the Squape clone appear to have been resolved within these recent batches of the Squape clone. I definitely give the Squape clone by Winsmoke two thumbs up.

Unless you have a VERY VERY fast internet connection and can type in the code faster then a stenographer and you are faster then everyone else on Earth and all the planets and stars are perfectly aligned you will not have a chance at an Instant kill. Odds are better that I will invent a time machine and take 1 of the hot foxes here to prom.

Also another awesome review Nicole!!

Did anyone else try the instant kill.i was on the 1st page with the list and clicked on item and then it took me to another page that had an instant kill button. It is very misleading I think .anyone else find this issue

Sent from my SCH-I605 using Tapatalk

Sorry Art, I have never even tried one of the instant kill promotions. The issue may be due to too many people on the website at the same time. Back during Xmas when FT had a similar type sale going on, the same exact thing happened to me. I sat on the website for over 30 mins waiting to hit the buy button, and when I did, the page would not load, and by the time it did, the sale quantity had been met, so I couldn't buy. :(

I hope someone who was successful with the instant kill promotion can provide some feedback on their purchase/checkout.

wow, it's impossible to catch any instant kill..

i have a crush with the squape. as a beginner, i enjoy the ability to check and fix your setup without dumping the liquid. you can modify it, when you notice it's leaking or whatever. and it's easier to build than the kayfun (for me). love the big screws/posts..
1.2 ohm flat ribbon coil, i could replace the ekowool wick with org cotton easily. great dense vapor production, excellent flavour.
now it's my fav. my kfl leaks a bit when the tank is at less than 1/3 its capacity. and had to add a tiny o-ring around the insulator which is rounding the positive in the 510 connection, because the positive was sinking into the thread and it was not making contact.

about dyi, have got 30 mixtures stepping now. i'll find my flavor for sure!
my mixtures have 9-10% distilled water saline solution (10g of salt per liter, final concentration of 1g/l, bye-bye de-hydration!), 3% vodka (or pure ethanol), 1-5% vg ethyl maltol solution (12.5g/l), 1-3% dnb (pg, ashy taste), 1-2% absolute tobacco (pg), 3-10% specific tobacco flavor, and the rest is vg. total balance of 13% water+vodka, 5-15% pg, 72-82% vg. it's wicking well atm, because using the kfl with juice channels and squape.

Well, the Sqaupe is on sale right now for $17.90 for the Dragon boat festival sale, which is still a great price for this device. And wholy cow, 30 DIY mixes  ... You had better find the flavor for you in that bunch

I am loving my green caramel apple right now  Now all I need is my 100mg nic and 50ml bottles to get here, and I will be good to go! It should be here tomorrow, and I am anxious to mix up some larger batches. Although I just realized that I have a ton of juice that still needs to be vaped, including some premium liquids that I got two months ago.
