Hey Kiwi.. Yes, it really is 1:1, and yes the switch is redesigned, and improved. The throw is so short on it now, not that it was long before, but now it's even shorter. Hits fantastic, and I am not in any way disappointed with it .. Crocky feels the same.
I'm not gonna lie, but I was hoping you would say something bad about it.

Not really interested in any more bottom button mods, but with an endorsement like that I'm really tempted.

Indeed I do. I have a handful of mechanicals and this is by far one of the top on my list. I am very pleased with it. Still have not tried to get the too cap off but really have not had the reason too.
If you are thinking if getting one, You won't regret it. I love the fact it sits straight without using the locking ring and doesn't fire, the switch is smooth and nice and short and it just hits hard! And for $37 or so bucks....you can't beat it
Nope, I was literally up all night, investigating, and then coercing Doris to move on getting that competition mod in stock for the US warehouse .. black, red, and copper are coming.
The Copper is will not be ready to ship by manufacturer until next week, but the aluminum black, and red are ready to ship. Doris ordered the Acerig Manhattan's w/o logos. While I was previously, and wholly uninterested in this mod, once I saw that deep red color?I think Nikki might have to get one

Just wanna be sure: the taifun GT on focal is a good buy, yes? I remember reading about how it used to be the same as the hcigar TGT, but changed recently. It looks lonely sitting in my shopping cart though......

Question about the SXK Stingray X. Got mine last week, looks great, works great, no real issues with it, but...
I thought the authentic Stingray X has one feature I've not seen on any clones. A coarse threaded lock ring. Gone are the 7 full turns required to lock like the original style Stingray. Typically just 1, at most 2. Is it a different mod that was recently released that had the coarse threaded lock ring or does the actual Stingray X?

Wait .. did you order the one from the China Warehouse, or the USA Warehouse? If you didn't know, they are not the same, as in not made by the same manufacturer, and differing in a few aesthetic qualities.
The US warehouse! For approx 35 bucks. Can't remember the exact.

What do you mean by "coarse threaded"? Do you mean stiffer? .. It takes 3 turns of a finger to lock/unlock mine.

I was just double checking because you spoke of the "wait", so that lead me to believe that you may have been speaking about China. ;-) You're good!
It just means number of turns to shift the same distance.
Fine threads = turn a gabillion times to unlock.
Coarse thread = turn a few times to unlock (assuming locking ring travels the same distance)

Haku my boo, unless something has changed with the design of the top cap, there should be a dual adjusting contacts, upper, and lower portion. The upper portion adjusts for the atty however, mine was very tight when I first got it, so I needed pliers to move it, but only the first time. Now I can adjust it by hand being that it has been loosened up.
You will notice that in the second photo, I removed the lower contact, and adjusted the upper contact out to fit the Taifun .. hope this helps dear

Ahaha .. Well, I would feel that way because I very very very much wanted this mod. If you like the design, finish, hybrid mod, and magnetic switches, then its for you. I have actually read a few people say that they hate the logos

Not unless the threads are anodized, which I do not believe to be the case, but I also have not seen it all broken down in the aluminum version. Its made by Acerig, and since all of their products have been getting very favorable reviews lately, I thought they were a good choice. I would like to believe that they know better than to anodize the threads too.
Aluminum is a better electrical conductor than brass is, so I believe there was a method behind the decision to use aluminum as the lighter weight version of the copper Manhattan. That Red is dynamite looking IMO, and until I saw it, I couldn't care less about this Mod ... my oh my how things change.
Go with the cheaper version which appears to be the Hcigar, for sure not the $28 .. They did recently changed suppliers the Taifun, so things have become a little confused. I have the Hcigar Taifun, and the cheaper one looks exactly like the one I have, right down to the box and trademark R.
