I'm going to end up making the Orchid look like a Kayfun with all the extra Kayfun goodies I have laying around
I also ordered some kayfun parts to modify a couple of my orchids. If it works out well, more kayfun parts might get ordered. I ordered one of the PMMA nano kits because it looks to use the same tank section that the orchid does. I used a tank cracker on accident (suicide bunny derailed) and now there are visible hairlines in it, no leaks though.

Dang, you guys got me cleaning and using this thing really late last night.
Wow! Nice! 
You CAN fill from the bottom if you don't torque the chimney out when you screw it onto the base. The base screws off really easily without dislodging the o-ring from the top cap. Ever so slightly, to not disturb the wicks, or all the way off, to tweak your build without having to empty the tank. To me, this was easier than having to mess with the top o-ring each time...but I think I'm gonna break down and use the top-fill cap pretty soon - cuz you do refill A LOT with this thing - and play some more with KF parts to make it look pretty with that cap.

Sounds awesome Cindy, now you have me more intrigued about the Orchid .. I like the way it looks but I honestly have not looked that much into the device. Sounds like you have a good handle on it though.
