IDK which batch Wotofo i have but both of mine are excellent. I do not own a clone of the Heron but from what i've read the spring is much softer than the original so i'm guessing that is why you can fully screw it on. I probably could too if i put more pressure on it but since the original spring is really stiff and the Wotofo threads are aluminum i don't want to force it.

You might be on to something with the spring .. I know Nelson64 said he bought authentic spring replacements for his Heron and he also cannot screw it into the Wotofo.

The Hana mini clones are up.

New Products: the Latest and Coolest Gadgets

Takes an 18490 rather than having the built-in LiPo battery pack.

This looks kind of janky though. I think Nikki mentioned earlier about having a top cover over the board but no side cover. Sticker also says "18650" which can't be right... otherwise it wouldn't be a mini, lol. Hot glue under the negative spring doesn't look awesome either. Wish there was a pic of how the 510 is secured.

EDIT: pics of the orange one are different. Maybe the pics of the black version are from the batch FC rejected. The orange looks much better... although it doesn't have a plastic battery tray. Haven't looked at the others yet.

I think:
1. the spring is not very important for the conductivity, because the gap between nipple and ring is very small. I guess, this little nipple has a better contact to the outer brass ring than the magnetic switch of a 4nine to its tube. The spring just presses the nipple against the battery or 510 connector. I used the Heron with up to 30W and couldn`t notice a hot getting 510 connector.
2. because the gap between nipple and ring is so small, it happens easily that the nipple tilts in the ring when you screw it on a device

It is possible to take the nipple or the nipple+ring out, if this helps to get rid of gaps between mod tubes in hybrid mode.

Btw. I get the best taste between 15-20W on the Heron.

I'm no expert but i think the spring very much plays a roll in conductivity. I've noticed that when i use the shorter spring which has less pressure i get more voltage drop and the vape suffers. Also, i've read several comments from clone owners that the vape and voltage drop became much better when they switched to an authentic Gpin spring. I don't see why GP would go through the trouble of making different size springs and the silver coated option if it didn't play a roll in conductivity. Again i'm not sure though i'm just going by my own experience with different springs and what i've read from others.

I don't have any issues with the nipple tilting. Is that an issues with the clones? I could see how a soft spring would allow the nipple to tilt but i've never experienced this with the beefy authentic spring.

I agree that if you remove the nipple and spring, leaving just the ring to make contact it would probably be enough to sit flush on the Wotofo. I thought of doing this but decided it wasn't worth the trouble because my Heron pretty much lives on my Paps V3 anyways.

I like my Heron at 1.2-1.4 ohm at 11-12W.

So, I've had a complete s**t week. I think im going to cheer myself up with some new vape gear. Any suggestions?

Sorry I can't help .. literally everything that I want is not available for sale yet  The Yihi SX Mini, I NEED IT  .. get one of FT's Erlkonigin clones and tell us how it is. I am waiting for Amod's Erl clone, it comes with two tanks.

The Vapor Flask clone that is in production is a total FAIL! I was initially told that it was a V2, but turns out its the V1 with pre-installed batteries which is no bueno, especially coming from China which will surely be some cheap and janky ICR batteries

I don`t have the original, I just have a FT and FC clone and havn´t checked the FC spring and nipple/ring system. So I don`t know about different GP springs and the tolerances of the original one. As I wrote the gap ( FT version ) between nipple and ring are so small, that it is impossible to get no contact. The main current runs through the brass parts and not through the spring. The function of the spring is to get a good surface pressure. If you have dirty contacts, a higher surface pressure will give you less voltdrop - if you have clean contacts the voltdrop is low, even when you have a less hard spring. I once tried the Heron with a 0,55 Ohm Coil with fully charged batteries ( ~30W ). If I had had a problem with conductance, the 510 connector would have gone hot too. I`m sure I had no notable voltage drop. Maybe I got a Heron with very low tolerances between the brass parts.

I will check it out the next days with FC Heron and a 0,3 Ohm coil. This will give me sth like 50 Watts. If there would be a contact resistance of 0,1 Ohm, I would get only 40 watts and could meassure only 3 Volt at the coil - or even less because the batterie Voltage will break down. ( i`m thinking about meassuring the batt volts at the same time too ). But for all of you who use f.e. a 2 Ohm coil, can forget a contact resistance of 0.1 Ohm. With a 4V batt you will loose 0.38 Watts ( 7,62W instead 8W )

Doris told me the Erlkönigin will be in stock next week, but with "NO LOGO", manufactuered by a well known ZNA30 manufacturer. ;)

The last missing SQ R ( 250pc ) will arrive on Monday.

I get what your saying and I'm sure there is current through the brass ring but there must be current through the spring too or why bother cleaning it or making a silver plated option. IDK, I guess it's both. Either way the important thing is that it's working great. I may have to pick up a clone because the Heron is my favorite atty right now. I was a little put off at first with having to use fluff but it's not a problem at all and I love the ease of use. Flavor seems to be better than my Kayfuns and working on it is as easy as a dripper.

Did she mention anything about a nano version? I almost pulled the trigger on the FT one but I know others will be released soon and I'm hoping we see nano version.

I can't remember what FaceBook group I saw it in but there was talk of a SX Mini pre-order and that Yihi changed it to 60w instead of 100w because of problems they were having. Makes sense since only one 18650 on a 100w just isn't going to cut it.

Got some vape mail in yesterday, an SRX wannabe and Viggo/JAM dripper from FC, also a 17mm dripper from FT to go on my FC Nemmy. The little dripper doesn't seem like it's going to be a very good one, but at least it doesn't break Miss Nikki's rule #42. :)

A comment on the cheap SRX: Overall it's a little better than I expected, except for the switch. The magnets that come with it are worthless, weak to the point of being dangerous. For me it was no problem, I'm used to crunchy Nemesis type switches and how to fix them, but for someone that's not used to that it could be a problem. Every once in a while it would stick ever so slightly in the fire position, and the magnets were not strong enough to push it back. I don't think those things were strong enough to hold up the mod even without a battery, don't know I ripped them out on my initial cleaning and filing disassembly.

View attachment 380107

you are right, the magnets in the cheap srx are smaller and weaker than in sxk version.
about getting stuck when fired: noticed that problem, tried o-rings, additional magnets.. try to unscrew the pin of the switch a bit; this fixed the problem in my mod.

i've received:

-the kato.

someone asked for magnets to upgrade the switch. it's measures should be: OD < 7.95mm, ID > 4.75. didn't find any suitable magnet :(
but i used a pair of o-rings, and now the throw is minimum (<1mm), and had not to sand the delrin. used a 6(OD)x1mm rubber o-ring below the head of the pin; and a 4(OD)x1mm one at the top of the pin's thread. will try a kick when the flat chi you top cap arrives here (if it ever does it, grr).
i was surprised by the weight of the mod. can't understand how it is so heavy, considering that the main body is made of aluminum. anyway, i'm loving it. =))

someone asked about voltage drop. tried with a full charged efest purple 2500mah and a kayfun with a coil of 1.2ohm. the drop was about 0.25v, which is less than i expected. it's not an stingray x, but it hits enough hard for me.

-the rose v2 (lambo). didn't try it yet (it is getting dried after a light wash, it came very clean, no oil taste) but looks like really great. the ceramic parts are not loose (which is great) but a bit tight (had to sand one of them, after breaking the other one while trying to remove it :( ) will report my experience.

ordered an erlkönigin in ft. got too excited when saw it. 8ml in a very comfortable (i hope) and innovator atty.

Dang, how'd you get one with a logo?
That's beautiful. I'm glad you got one. :thumb:

Thanks. Like I mentioned. Needed something to take my Workhorse's place. Got lucky on a deal. Waiting for Mutation X, Magma, another Taifun, and the Sigelei 100 watt to get in. That'll cure my sadness. Lol.

Does this look like the FC (Limwell) Kato?

79136172.jpg

A seller on Rakuten has this for $46.99 shipped.

Kato Square Box Mechanical MOD Ecig Vaporizer fits RDA tank coils and 18650 batteries (Clone) - Rakuten.com

I told myself I wasn't going to buy anything else tonight but I'm now half drunk and dripping 24mg juice at .2ohm. My judgement may be slightly impaired.

Drinking and being enabled does not mix good. You'll be "...?, I ordered these? damn you!!!" Then when it arrives, "Not too shabby!"
