I think he meant he was going to upgrade it with an Evolv chip. According to a FB post from Cloupor, it comes with the same chip as they use in their v3 Hana clones which is supposedly one of the better clone chips on the market. .

Yes, Cloupors V3 dna chip is very good, I like mine a lot. This chip boosts voltage very well on a low battery. I said it would be a no brainer for Cloupor to use their V3 dna chip in the Mini as it is their best offering.

You have every right to be upset and rant .. I yell at Doris all the time about their janky inventory system, seriously. It pisses me off too :glare: A constant of items that are shown out of stock, but are really in stock, and items that show in stock, but are really out of stock.

But the good news is that the new stock of SX Zero is already in the US, they just haven't updated the system yet. I asked Doris about it in wee hours of the morning when I was asking if they had ordered the new wood SX Zero yet? I am sure it will ship soon .. but again, RANT VALID.

In my humble opinion FC's whole web site is janky. It is hard to find what you are looking for. Search function is very weak, and the filters never seem to work for me. After this last 15% cupon disaster the web developers should be looking for a place to hide.

Uh... now my IN'AX Nano is in Florida. I'm not sure what is going on. Either FC totally janked up my shipping address for my Slug and Nano orders or US Customs is overwhelmed and farming stuff out to other locations.

I just want my stuff! lol

edit: okay, apparently US Customs does have a facility in Opa Locka. Guess NY customs is getting lazy... or my FC shipments are filled with contraband :glare:

I never argue with the Truth, and yes their website is janky, a point that I remind them of quite often. But trust, it used to be jankier

The coupon debacle had nothing to do with the janky website and everything to do with China being restricted from accessing google without them knowing. So when she tried to activate the coupon from home it didn't work.

All of my recent shipments, domestic and international have taken strange and unusual detours over the last month ... I had one go from New York to Massachusetts, then back to New York again :glare:

the 510 pin of my sxmini is broken.. sigh.. remember: don't touch (even look at, lol) the screw.
time to dyi, gonna try to see if i can fix it..

well, the pin isn't broken. it's the gasket/insulator, which is pushed by the spring. curios way to make the pin floating: the gasket is pushed by the spring, and the gasket pushes the screw? but that gasket is made by teflon or something like this, and gets degraded; so, if you insert an atty with a very long 510, the pressure can make the screw is buried into the below gasket.
i think it's like the usual problem of the vamo's 510, dunno
=( I work on electronics for a living and solder all day, if you want I can take a look at it and see if its fixable and fix it for you, I am enamored with my SX Mini so I understand the heartbreak.
Before you do anything I would contact the retailer you bought it from and see if they will do anything about it for you. Some will.

NOOOOOOOO    Please go do some reading in the SXmini thread over in the APV section. There was a member who tried to take his mini apart for the sake of curiosity and he killed it .. completely. He is not even sure how it happened, but it happened.

Haku I am sooooo heartbroken for you  Really, my heart hurts right now :( I know its just a "thing" but we were both so excited about it. Maybe Yihi will change their minds about honoring the warranty for this issue?

I AM GUTTED! And I am sure you are too .. do you think you can fix it without taking it apart? I heard someone else say that the construction of this spring loaded pin was rather old school too. :(

yes, it seems old school spring loaded 510, so i guess it won't be difficult to fix up.
i do have to take the top apart (but only the top), to look further the 510, and to insert the spring again, together with a new gasket (above the compressed spring), both wrapping the 510 pin (which has not be taken apart). so i guess i only have to unscrew the top torx screw (my brother will lend me a 2mm torx tomorrow evening).
even i've considered to replace the spring with some magnets, lol.
going to check sxmini thread. thank you!

go

when i take the top apart, will check if any soldering is needed (my brother will also bring a decent solder tomorrow), but i guess it isn't. the pin remains in its place (but wobbly because removed the wrapping gasket and spring), so i guess it isn't broken. i think i only have to replace the broken gasket/insulator; am searching for possible replacements in my spare thingies; if can't find it, i think i'd be able to build it.
about the retailer.. i can ask, but it's a complicated matter. more complicated as yihi has stated that 510 issues won't be covered by warranty.
i made a newbie mistake: to screw a magma (long 510 connector) until there wasn't gap. too much pressure.

Be careful taking the top cap off, thats how ZeroOhm broke his. The ground is soldered to the stainless steel and when you remove the cap it breaks that connection. To resolder it you will need a special stainless acid soldering flux to solder it back.
And I know YiHi says they wont cover it but the retailer still might, its worth a shot before cracking it open and voiding any chance of replacement =)

Before you start disassembling it search YouTube for videos on repairing the Vamo center pin. I remember seeing one a while back with someone using an ego battery insulator by cutting it open on one side and feeding it around the center pin.

I'm not sure if it's similar enough to the mini, but it might give you some ideas. Good luck!

wow. thanks for the heads up. i'm surfing through the sxmini thread, but i've not reached that post yet.
do you know if i can take the top cap only a bit, carefully, just enough to be able to insert the spring and a new gasket, without breaking the soldering?
hope i won't need the acid flux.. thank you very much for your offering! =))

Unfortunately I dont know, I havent ripped mine apart yet since I dont want to void the warranty so I dont know exactly how its all assembled. ZeroOhm said he will be posting dissasembly pics soon, hes the only one whos taken his completely apart.
