Mine leaks like a siv, oh well at least I have a bunch of kayfuns and a Russian that works great , and my taifun clone is probably the best 50 I ever spent
I finally got a better build out of the fogger. I used some 30 gauge kanthal and it came in around 1.2 ohms. I also reduced the size of my cotton and I have to tell you that it's night and day difference. The 30 gauge works much much better than the 28 gauge on my Provari (too thick of wire and too many turns to get up to 1.2 ohms). The 28 gauge just wouldn't be able to heat up enough to produce the vapor production. I also don't know if the cotton reduction helped, but the combination of the two have made a big difference this atty.
I get a more dense and flavorful vape experience from my IGO-L dripper, but I think that's to be expected right? The IGO-L has a twisted 32 gauge single coil coming in at 1.7 ohms.

I have had mine from probably the first batch that had the new afc and there plenty of clearance around the fill hole, I'm assuming that's prolly a few thousand, a batch from the manufacturer that went out to multiple vendors, could be more or less who knows, that sucks anyways.
@ 300fury where is it leaking in assuming you've checked your Orings etc.?
@timastyle sounds like you know what your doing,. Less cotton is usually the better way to go.

Yeah I cut mine a bit shorter than the diameter of the deck. Less than half way down the channels.

Also smaller coil diameter gives you less cotton and works better.

Yep. That's how I've been doing it. Don't even need to do the whole cover air hole + turn upside down to tighten business as you would with a kayfun. No flooding from doing that at all.
Not sure how everyone else is building it, but I do it with a 1/16 drill bit, and use a skinny cotton wick that slides through the coil pretty easily
It looks super skinny and wimpy as hell, but I chain vape on it and the wicking keeps up well even at 22 watts.

Smaller coil for the one in that picture I posted a couple posts back? Ya I noticed that after I posted it. I do 1.5 -1.6 mm id but that looks like I used the screw driver that it came with. Coils are waaay too big

@Tbev and @inotfat - I finally had my "aha" moment following this thread. What I had seen on the youtube videos and from pics of people's builds here, I would get a big piece of cotton, twist it to skinny it up and lace it through my 1/16th coil builds. I can't remember who it was in this thread that posted that you shouldn't twist the cotton because it gives a false sense of looseness when laced through the coil. Once the wick has juice, it expands quite a bit more than you would think. It really hit home when I came to pull my wick out of my dripper and it yanked on the coil so much that it deformed it. Now I sharpen one end of the cotton to lace it through the coil and leave the rest as is.
As @inotfat said, the cotton looks very wimpy and I was scared that I would have some serious leaking issue, but I have had none at all and it really helped bring the tank to life (along with using thinner gauge wire to build my coils). My cotton is in the "M" shape as suggested on here and only goes about halfway down the channel.

What I have gathered so far is the shape of the wick really is not terribly important. What matter most is "less is more" really helps in Fv4
Curious what the Fogger v5 will bring when it comes out.
Agree with all the Rose is not so fantastic looking. Do like how the Fv4 looks in comparison for sure!

The things I would say I would like to see added to the next revision is the ability to access the coils/wicks without having the empty the juice, the option for single or dual coil, and 3 posts. Oh ya...and a better fitting drip tip as my stock one seems to sit a little loose.
Built the stainless one - works great but just a little airy for me even with the air flow turned most of the way down. Nice device at a good price - not something you find every day!! Lets go Fogger!
Through hole mounting of coils instead of screw trap method. Single piece top cap/chimeny ala Taifun GT style. Taifun GT style posts instead of Kayfun style, so you don't have a risk of shorting the center post if you melt the insulator. I think it'd be perfect with those changes.
O rings seem fine, I don't have a lot of time to mess around with it right now, maybe next weekend
Funny you say that I had noticed that too and the way I fixed it was lightly lubing the rubber ring with a little ejuice. It helps it slide into place properly. When it's dry it kind of kicks the tip to one side a bit.
@Muggs - From the sounds of it, you have a hard time getting the DT to sit properly because the rings are not lubed. Once you lube it, it pops into place no problem. Mine is the exact opposite. It sits flush but is somewhat wobbly and easily gets pulled out. Probably could use a slightly larger o-ring or the DT should be slightly larger overall in diameter.
I wrapped my first coils with one of those included screwdrivers, possibly not the one from the Fv4 , but I cut the cotton at an angle to reduce the size in the chambers, going smaller diameter seems to be a simpler solution if your having trouble but what's gets the job done! Glad everyone is enjoying the atty, I think it's my favorite so far, my xc -116 is coming today I'll post some pics tonight if I get it, I've never touched the stuff b4 but in excited!
