Its actually 1.85 ohms and not 3.7ohm but that is still pretty high for 30g dual coils.
Uhm, no, it is a single coil, not double. In the pic, you can see the wire going from one coil across to the other one. My voltage is probably closer to 4.3ohm. The original attys were 3.4ohm I think, long before tanks and rebuildables.

I'm really digging mine at 0.47ohms.. still have my first. build in it. The first wicking wasn't done for lung hits, so I put just a pinch of the wick tails in wick well, but I mainly use that to keep wick over well.. and it's close to my magmas.. flavor is a little more "wet." I don't want to say the flavor is better, but feels a bit more moist.

My common post was loose when I built on it 2 weeks ago.. Probably address it with lock-tite, and be done with it, but it arrived very clean..I practically threw away the AFC ring.. still a little tight for me, but great vape none-the-less.

Love DPT's :)

Here's my first try at a coil. Came out to 3.7ohms for this single coil over both holes.

+1 for experimenting on your first build
-1 for making 7 wraps on one side and 8 on the other side :p

Generally you want the coils to be parallel and not in series on a mechanical mod, since you'll get more wattage that way. Think of this as two atomizers in one. If you are used to vape at 7 watts, you want 14 wants for these two separate coils with separate wick channels and separate air flow.

Wrapping the coil tightly together so they touch is better, since it heats up faster and you get better wicking in the center (less length of the coil).

I still have to get a magnifying glass as well. I sometimes take a photo and zoom in to count the wraps.

    PS: What's a DPT? :)

Yeah, I know, I totally get that for most setups, but I have a weird diy battery that can't go higher watts. Next time I think I'll try for dual coils at 4.0-5.0 ohms each, and with the same number of coils on both.

I forgot to take a pic of mine, but I still have my first build on it, 2.5 tanks through it at the moment. I was shooting for .8, but ended up at 1.06ohm, dual micro with 30 gauge. I split my wick tails and ran half of it down each channel, and the other half laid on the deck. It works quite well, a lot easier to work with than the Aqua, mainly cause I hate having to fill the Aqua and I hate the little nuts, but it's still a Pain to keep your coils all neat doing a dual coil with just 2 posts, at least for me. I'm gonna see if I can find some super small washers to put between the post and the screws to help capture the wires and keep the legs from spinning when tightening down the screws, like on the 3D or any other Atmomixani atomizer.

I was sitting on the patio last night enjoying the weather. I get up to close the door the wife left open and forgot what was on my lap. Mod and Fogger hit the cement paver, crack. Crazy thing is it's not leaking and still works 100%, haha. I ordered a replacement piece of glass 10 minutes later.

I need to practice and figure out the best build. I've had one work great and the other not so good. Love the atty though

I think, once you have a coil that you are satisfied with (ohms, even glow, etc) it all comes down to wicking. Trial and error depending, at least to me, entirely on juice consistency. A 30/70 or 100% VG will certainly need a different amount of cotton compared to even a 50/50 or higher PG ratio.

I have had the same coil in place for almost a month now, and just vary the amount of cotton for each juice. Even when I get it "wrong" i.e, dry hits or just overall slow wicking, I still have never had this thing flood on me, unlike my V2 or V3. Almost wonder if this thing would flood if I didn't put ANY wick in it.

So quick question: my wimpy wicks (in a 1/16 id coil) works fine with my 50pg and my 70pg juices at 20 watts. They start getting burnt when I go up to 25 watts. I'm looking to use a wider coil, but I've found that the juice channel gets pretty clogged up even if I use a conservative amount of cotton for a 2ish mm inner diameter coil. Anyone has a recommendation/solution for that? Was wondering if it would work if I just use a short wick with a fat turf of cotton at the ends such that I don't actually have cotton down the channels

@inofat cut your wicks at a diagonal at the end making them skinnier at the ends going into the channels, or wrap smaller coils.
I'm using ceramic wick in mine right now, I cut them too short and it is leaking out the afc. Never had this problem with cotton, I'm not as happy as I would like to be with this xc -116 just yet...
