I had a Fogger v 4.0. Got it when it first came out. It worked great from day one.

I lost it. It should turn up but I've torn my house apart.

What is the consensus on the best current version available today and from where should I purchase it?

I want the 6 ml capacity.

None of them are 6ml capacity. Unless of course you get The Big Fogger of 10 ml capacity.
If capacity is that important to you, I would stay away from Fogger 4.3, aka Fogger 4.0 Plus, because it only holds 3 ml. I completely agree with TheKiwi.
I think you should get Fogger V4.4 (official V4.1 engraved on it) It is the latest revision, unless of course they came out with a new one while I was typing this. :)

V4.4 has yet to arrive...

Here is how you can tell the difference between V4.2 and V4.3 (V4.4 will have Fogger V4.1 engraved on it)

Any suggested vendors? Ebay or online vape shop recommendation?

There's nothing really "wrong" with that version. You just have to fill it more often. Granted, depending on the situation, filling more often can be a bad thing. But its a bit easier to build and wick and produces flavor and vapor just like the other versions.

For the record, I tried the straight kayfun style build with no wick in the juice channels, and felt the flavor just wasnt as good. Now I've been splitting a little of the wick and putting a tiny bit inside the wick channels and cutting the wick to fit perfectly inside the chamber and lay on the deck, the result for me has been excellent flavor, I can tell the wick is being juiced better with a little bit of vertical wick in the juice channels (just a tiny little bit in there) and with the deck wick cut to fit inside the chamber without getting squished at all, the flavor is better to me.

Right now running 9 wraps 28ga on a 2.4mm precision screw driver nets out at 0.8ohms on my futura dna20, depending on the juice I run at 20w to 15w, sometimes 20w is just too much and I can taste the juice burning....... but the results are very impressive. Filling it is the hard part, well messy part and pita.

I've been using droppers leaving the oring inside the base and afc open, I dont know how much its holding, because it seems impossible to use a syringe, it doesn't want to go in that way. I've topped filled it too, holding the glass with my thumb and finger, filling to the top then screwing the top cap back on............. that's tricky but doable. Leaving the oring in the base with the fill screw out and a dropper thing works great, just makes a little mess because theres always juice on the dropper that ends up on the bottom, and Ive already cut one oring putting the fill screw back in, and I just got this for fathers day.

I had the v1 and the v2 foggers (well have them still), this one (v4.3) is waaaaaay better.

The large deck version can be filled pretty easily with the standard nipple top plastic bottle. Just hold the nipple firmly to the hole and squeeze slowly. The trick is to be patient and go slow otherwise it'll squirt out all over. Most fills I don't even bother to close the AFC anymore because I've gotten the slow rate down now. Still takes less than a minute to fill, just don't try to do it in 10 seconds or less.

Waaaaiiit a second? They haven't fixed the AFC? So you'll only get half of the hole at max like the 4.3?

When 1st got my fogger 4.1, I thought it was blocking off half of the air flow, so when the tank was empty I took off the ring so the holes was fully exposed, it didn't make any difference for me, so I have put it back on now.
