AFAIK:
Fogger V4.0 non threaded without space in the afc ring for an oring
Fogger V4.1 non threaded with a little rim cutout in the afc ring
Fogger V4.2 threaded afc ring with copper 510 center pin

Probably the first batches were the first two versions "prototypes" that they sold off as they "perfected" the manufacturing process.

IMO the ideal AFC would be an air flow control ring with a shallow cutout in it that fits into a pin in the atty that lets the afc ring only move about 3-4 mm around the holes. Maybe in V4.3?

For those of us (me) who prefer to use vw mods that don't have enough power to run the fogger dual coil setup

I used epoxy putty to close juice channels and air hole on one side of the deck (v4+ model). Drilled out the air hole to 2mm and ground off a hair of the adjustment ring to expose the bigger 2mm air hole. When I setup the cotton wick I did not run wick down the vertical juice channels. Just laid the wick on deck like a kayfun setup. I tried it first running cotton wick 1/3 of way down vertical juice channels but it did not wick well enough. Out preforms my kayfun setups same size coil (1.3 ohm) at 12 watts on zmax mean mode. Now I have a glass tank 6ml kayfun setup

I wouldn't use epoxy putty. Epoxy can off gas things you don't want to breathe in.

Uh oh, definitely. You should simply tape off the outside of the air hole or maybe stick some cotton into the channel / airhole.

I like my Fogger V4 now, got a better wick going with 2 strands of 2mm ekowool. But I can only see 1mm ekowool fitting in the wick holes.

The airflow control is very flexible and great, dual airholes allow for very big draw. I just have to find some way to keep it from spinning so easily. Don't got a thin o ring.

Use plumbers tape for air adjuster.

have any of you guys drilled it out to increase the airflow? 1/8" airflow is pretty much my sweet spot. i can't vape anything with a hole smaller than 1/8"

I have the SS Fasttech version of the V4. The base section just above the air flow control ring does not come off.

Does anyone know if it was built intentionally this way? Or did I get a dud? I'd love to put something under the AFC ring to tighten it up, but as it is, it's impossible.

FWIW, my V4 has otherwise performend flawlessly.

You will eventually get it to come off, it's just stuck on there real good.

Either give it some time (2 or three fill-ups / rebuilds) or a couple of cycles of boiling then cold water. Mine finally "broke-free" after about my 3rd rebuild. Prior to that, I would have sworn up and down it wasn't ever gonna budge.

EDIT: In a way, I would have rather it still be stuck, quite honestly. Seems to come loose too often when tightening up the top cap after a rebuild. My .02 worth.

I think i posted a pic a couple of pages back.

It probably has metal shavings on the threads, and is "screwed" tight.

Try to use rubber gloves.
Try putting it in the freezer.
Try heating it lightly. (LAST RESORT-Possibility of discoloring and/or warping )

With wear and tear it will unscrew over time. But building is much easier without the "skirt" section

small strip of silicon hose cut then used to grip the ring using a pair of vice grips which pinch the strip off the atty, so they dont crush it will get it off as well no matter how tight it is.

im about to buy one, but can someone who owns this please chime in on how open the draw is @ fully open? I love my kayfuns but had to modify them by drilling out all the holes, including the centerpin to get a good airy draw on it.

@ fully open is the fogger v4 draw like REALLY open? Or still restricted. The type of draw im looking for is if anyone owns a Tobh atomizer, I would like the draw to be similiar to if I had 2/3 holes open on both sides.

My EHPro Aqua clone wicks a little better as it has larger juice channels. It does keep up alot better with chain vaping than my v4, but I am having wicking problems with my v4. The Aqua also seems to be better made, smoother threads ans such. The V4 wins out in just about every other way. Larger juice capacity, sits flush on my 22mm mods, glass tank to check juice capacity, doesn't flood during a fill (which is frequent with the aqua). My Aqua clones have pretty much been retired since I got my foggers.

Once you learn how to setup the Fogger V4 so it wicks correctly it beats the Aqua in every way possible....that is saying a lot since I really love my Aqua. I use cotton wick... and I put half of the cotton into the channel and leave half above channel like the picture below.

Fv4 draw is very airy compared to the draw of Kayfuns.

I love the Fogger V4. It's got it all in one package. Dual coil, glass tank, huge capacity, and personally, I think it looks fantastic.

However, the Aqua has some features that set it apart. For one, it's a bit easier to build, IMO. Mostly because of the thumb screws. It also has larger wick channels. I have never got a dry hit out of my Aqua, however, My V4 will if you chain vape it, one pull after the other. I also give the flavor advantage to the Aqua, but as I continue to experiment with builds on the V4, that could change.

Of course, the Aqua's disadvantages are it's small capacity, it's 21mm, and has a potentially messy fill. Although, recently I tried bottom filling it. Much easier then I anticipated, with no flooding, and a bit more capacity.

I say have both. The Aqua in hybrid mode on the Origin is damn sexy. For a clone, I'd recommend the $20 red o-ring version on FT which comes with both drip tips and the hybrid adapter. Mates perfectly on the FT SS Origin.

I did forget to mention the juice control. A feature I haven't needed with the Aqua, but is available.

I rebuilt my fogger today with larger ID coils (2.2mm) for .5Ω. Obviously, the wicks for these don't fully fit in the channels, so I gently tucked a portion of the ends in, leaving most of the tails sitting on the deck. Seems to be wicking much better this way, and the flavor has been much improved.

I just finished chain vaping it in a way I doubt most would use it (including myself) and so far so, so good.

Has anyone tried just pusing the tails down to the channels with the lower chimney section on, and not acutally stuffing the channels with wick? I think that's next.....
