So quick question: my wimpy wicks (in a 1/16 id coil) works fine with my 50pg and my 70pg juices at 20 watts. They start getting burnt when I go up to 25 watts. I'm looking to use a wider coil, but I've found that the juice channel gets pretty clogged up even if I use a conservative amount of cotton for a 2ish mm inner diameter coil. Anyone has a recommendation/solution for that? Was wondering if it would work if I just use a short wick with a fat turf of cotton at the ends such that I don't actually have cotton down the channels
My best build so far is 28ga, 1.5mm (.059") 12 wraps stretched tightly (.78 ohms) and a ridiculously small amount of cotton! (I thought for sure it was going to leak) I'm trying to wick 100%VG at +20watts, and it's working pretty good. I was tempted to start opening up the juice channels, but this last build has me thinking otherwise. I took a couple of 30watt hits like this and it didn't burn anything but my lungs!
BTW, I just barely tuck the cotton in the channels after I put the chimney base on
