Do you mean drill out the airhole? I was looking at the hcigar Kayfun Lite Plus V2 - any reason not to get that one?

I thought the Aga T used mesh, no?

Most of them do, the AGA-T7 is a bit different tho. Check out some pictures of it a few pages back (Or google :p)

So, I know this is a Fogger thread - and I love mine, fiddly as it is! The question of the day is should I get a Kayfun clone? I have a lonely Provari that has been pushed aside in favor if my Reos (which I love), and the Stingray clone keeps the Fogger busy. I'll wait for the new Fogger before getting another one, but is it worthwhile getting a Kayfun, as I've never had one?

I absolutely think that you should. Especialy a good clone like HCigar.
To be used on Provari, that will not fire anything less then 1.2 Ohm, IMO you should stay away from Dual coils unless you are going to start using 34 and 32 gauge wires. That excludes Fogger, Aqua, Ithaka and AGA-T7 and leaves you with the only right choice: Kayfun.
I own 4 Kayfuns 3.1. One is Russian designed, German made, SvoeMesto Kayfun 3.1 that I paid $190.00 for two years ago. I still use it on my Provari and I love it. I think it still holds its first place in the flavor department. Granted, Fogger is a dual coil design and it produces more vapor. But does it produce twice as much? No. Although my love towards Kayfun could also be because of my Russian origin, I will not be exaggerating if I said that Kayfun held its number one place for longer then anything else ever will.
I don't have any Kayfun Lite units, but I understand they don't have adjustable airflow. Kayfun Lite Plus - does. Kayfun 3.1 does not have a bottom fill hole (unless it is made by EHPro but then it won't have SvoeMest logo on it) and you have to fill it up through the Fill Valve which is a pain in the "a" or unscrew the top cap, fill it up, start screwing the top cap back on, turn it upside down and finish screwing the top cap all the way. All Kayfun Lite models have the bottom Fill screw. If you ever intend to use a Nemesis Hybrid adopter - you've got to have Kayfun 3.1, not Lite. To coil and wick it is so very easy and user error tolerant that even my brother that was born with two left hands can do it. Sorry, a little Russian humor.
And last, but not least: You will be amazed with the quality of manufacturing of even Kayfun clone, comparing to Fogger. It's like Mercedes-Benz vs Ford Pinto. Again: IMHO of course.

Hereis my ATA-T7 in case you missed it:

You are right. Up until AGA-T7, they were all Genesis type atomizers using SS Mash, SS Rope and other stuff. But AGA-T7 is completely different. It's like Kayfun only dual coil "over-under" and "Criss-Cross"

F that is got a tighter draw, and a plastic tank, I besiege it to be a step backwards from Fv4, a hd the fogger is stainless Common, I dt think it's made as low quality as every body says...,that being said personally Boron feeder is the best setup period, w your Rda that is, I think your above it already.

If you want an airier draw of Kayfun 3.1 - just remove the Airflow Controll Screw out.
And yes, it has a Polycarbonate clear tank section, but it also comes with a Stainless Steel replacement for it included.

Actually you can get the semi-hybrid adapter from FastTech for $3 and you've got about the same setup. An atomizer, pretty much anything with an adjustable 510 connector, that screws flush with the Nemesis tube with no top cap. And it'll work with the newer Kayfun lite plus V2 which has an amalgamation of all the things that were good about the various Kayfun variations, bigger airflow, bottom fill, deeper juice channels, etc.

It's good to know. Thanks for the info.

(and the new word I just learned: "Amalgamation" I had to look it up :))

The huge Kayfun lite thread covers the original initially in the thread but then moves on and adds info about many of the various clone models. You'll have to use the search function on it, over a thousand posts, but info on any variation of the Kayfun lite you'd want to know about.

To return to the thread topic, what about the rumor of a V4.4 which will return to the smaller deck size? Any comments about fixing the airflow adjustment, either adding an o-ring to stop it from moving so freely or making it possible to adjust fully instead of the 50% (from halfway open to closed) that it does in the current design?

No clear glass window, unprotected plastic part right under the coil... I'll pass.
The tank has slots in the side to see the juice, the inner sleeve of the tank is Pyrex glass, that just leaves the insulator.
Until just a few minutes ago I thought the inner sleeve was plastic but I read that it was glass and just checked it with a ss razor blade, glass.

I would have found out today anyway that the tank liner was glass 'cause my new one arrived broken.

I found it here: I must have gotten the first bad unit of the newest version ( Title changed to reflect what was needed to fix ): FastTech Forums

This is what this person sais: "I think I may have had success in my petition to get the original fogger back. After several emails with the manufacturer they have told me that they are going back to the original chimney and deck design due to the increased requests. I've also spoken with fasttech and they have assured me that they will be contacting the manufacturer and will be offering the original version in addition to the 4++. The consumer has the power guys, don't just talk with your $$.

Email from Yiloong:
The fogger v4 atomizer we have now is back to being like the first revision where the airflow control is threaded and the center pin is copper and the base and chimney is smaller now."

I just ordered one a week ago and it will arrive today. It will probably be the 4.3 :/
Hoping i can still get it to work well, kinda scared now with all the negative stuff I've been reading about it

I wouldn't worry too much which version you get. The flavor will blow you away no matter which version!

I already got the original V4 (it doesn't even have the threaded AFC ring yet), but I wanted a black one to go along with my black cana modz. I really hope it won't make too much of a difference :)

I just drilled out both holes on my V4.3 to 3/32. I find it even more enjoyable now as the draw is closer to how I like them on my drippers. It really was a ..... to do tho with only my dremel. Took about 30 mins each hole, being careful not to drill too far in.

I'd like to do it on my V4.2 but I'm not looking forward to putting in the work again. :(

doesn't the drilling affect the vacuum on any way?

Don't sweat it, the 4.3 is still a great atty; It's a little easier to build, It wicks a little better, filling it isn't really that bad with a little patience, and most people won't notice the flavor difference. The only real deal breaker in my opinion is the decreased volume.

What this poster said. If you got a Fogger V4.3, never having known about the previous versions, you'd think it's a bit quirky but a very good atomizer. It's only in comparison to the earlier version 4 styles that it suffers, harder to fill, holds less, etc.

Don't feel bad. I took both 4.2 and 4.3 on 2,000 miles trip with me and had much better experience with 4.3 then 4.2
