The spring posts are seperate from the actual posts and unscrew and yi loong supplied screws that screw right in. I guess they thought spring post were a good idea but atleast they left people the option. +1 for yi loong on that one.
I think of your settings coils you've got tools out, making a sihtty connection isn't cool just bc you don't have to use the screwdriver that's already in your hand. Nobody's swapping coils out on the bus. . . And even if they were they would have to wrap the coils on something ...
Scrubbed down and ready to build. Few more pieces as you can see.

So on to the spring post this is where things got interesting
I built it with 28g 7 wrap around 3mm and everything was good. Well not really!!!!!!

After i built it and snipped the leads I threw it on the mod and fired it up not too bad but ive built this type of setup and it wasnt right. So i threw it on the ohm meter and sure enough it was reading 1.0-4.6. I knew something was up and usually it does that crap when the leads arent tight enough. I knew the biggest fault of the v5 was going to be those stupid spring posts. After 45 miniutes and alot of frustration trying to figure where to go from there hoping not to have to break out the tap and die set I took the coils off and started messing with sping post.
Ahhhhh they unscrew!!!!!! Then i remembered in that extra bag of goodies yi loong sent with the fogger there were two screws and it clicked in my head that those have to be for the post and yesss siiiir they were. I put the screws in and built some new coils with 28g 7 wrap but this time around 2mm which came out to .5ohm little low but i knew i was home free.

Continued.......
Those posts were the only thing holding me back from jumping on the bandwagon. Nice to see the v5 is actually an AMD fogger v4.3.0.0.1I knew you were on to something AMD

Yeah I would think doughnuts would be the only exception, how do you like them? How do they compare to a build that's the same res? Pics?

I really dig the donuts. I tried them on the big fogger and Kaiser and have used them since. They last a month or more where as I find my coils lasted about 10 days before I'd have to rebuild. I find cleaning the donuts and getting wicking off them easier than coils. With coils I usually end up bending the coils and throwing them out. But not so on the donuts, I reuse them. And on the big I leave them in place when rewicking and cleaning. Vape is just as good if not better since getting juice flow to both sides of the discs maximizes surface area producing vapor. Interestingly the Kaiser with a single disc is throwing as much vapor as the big with a dual. I think its because the cup design on the Kaiser has the juice channels in line with the heating element where as on foggers and kayfun the decks are raised and wick length is longer. I adjust power to get the same wet dense vape experience I'm looking for on every setup I try. I find the Kaiser is really flowing a lot more juice for me and I can put as much power to it as a dual setup on the big and get the same vape experience. I haven't tried the flat wire AMD uses yet but that looks like it should produce even more surface area. Right now I just really enjoy vaping the donuts with rayon and they're easy for me. I got packages of the 1.25 to 1.5 so duals on the big are around .6. And I don't have to torch the donuts like I do the Kanthal. The only downside I can see with the donuts is they cost more. Not sure if I'll use donuts on the V5 or coils, won't know till I get it and look at it but if they'll fit, I'm going with donuts.
