Hey guys, im n thinking about using a dna30 in a new mod, does anyone use one? Can you give me an Idea of how powerful they are, compared to a low sub ohm build setup..
I use a dna30 mod with my v4.0 fogger.
With a .8 ohm 28gage build, I run my Hana @ 30w all the time.
Dont build super low for a dna mod. Around 1 ohm give more wattage range and provides more coil surface area.
I primarily use my Hana with the fogger. Its a great combo.
I guess the whole world needs to see my unattractive hairy knees...LOL I held the MOD between my knees to be able to pull the Fogger with one hand and hold my iPhone-5 in the other.
I'm just wondering if I should even mess with a dna30 board in a new bottom feeder or not. I'm saying , how does a , say 1 ohm build on a dna30 maxed out compare to say a 0.25ohm build on a mech?
I for one can pass on seeing them again. I couldn't even watch it all the way through when you first posted it. If I saw that while pondering a purchase, that'd stop me from buying most assuredly.
You can do the math to figure out the power delivered to a 0.25 ohm load at 4.2 volts knowing you'll not get that voltage from your battery for long then calculate the power from max voltage (10.2 I believe from the DNA30 board) and see that its higher and would last most of the batteries charge since I've heard that the DNA30 does suffer a bit in output when the battery gets below about 3.5 volts.

Thanks im thibking about building one of those, I follow that thread, that's why I was asking about the dna board. I guess if I can get as much power I'll check it out, I might buy a board or two from a guy from that thread.
Yeah but I don't know anything about it! I don't know if a dna 30 even had enough power to make me happy, I hear people talk about then but I haven't looked into any chips to really know anything, I'm a me cb have guy, I like a vape around 0.3ohm... enlighten me please!
A good person to ask is nickwhit1992, I believe he has had both and was looking to go higher I think 425W but I forget what it was. If you don't want regulation just raw power I'd say stick with a mech and really good batteries.
The SX350 will regulate down to 1.5V and up to 9.5V, will take an atty down to .15ohms or up to 3ohms, it is sw upgradeable currently to 60W will regulate from 5 to 60W. Though I've yet to have a need to push more than about 27W through it. It's max current is 25A. There is a thread on here, and a facebook modders group. A couple of places sell it, eg varitube, ecigcity and atozvaporworld. When I researched chips a while back looking to build my own box mod, the SX350 had the best specs bottom to top, I haven't looked at DNA anything since because they didn't down convert which is very important to me, I like to experiment, YMMV. Phil Busardo did an excellent review on both and shows the differences. He now has a review on a DNA40. With that said the 40's coil temperature measuring and limiting feature may be the bomb and is highly attractive to me. And it appears the 40 down converts as well but I'd like to confirm that. Currently I have a 350 box mod and took the SX300 out of a seven30 tube mod and put a 350 in it. Love em, they take anything I throw at em. There are 100-120W YiHi chips but caution on those....the range they can hit that power level at in terms of atty resistance and voltage is very limited.

Tbev, I am trending toward higher ohms and more coil surface and more volts myself. I think that is my direction. I will occasionally fry juice as well...you know, I like the blackened crispies on my brisket too[emoji12]
I'm thinking about heading that way, I mean I don't really see the issue of coil surface, as this can be accomplished by altering wire Guage in a Mech. I prefer to run around 0.30ohm ish little bit higher. But i don't like a hot vape, if I could vape cold vapor I'd love to, but I don't want to open up afc holes and kill my flavor in return for temp.
That being said, I dunno how this will be, I just bought a dna 40, from a co-op today, I'm reluctantly stoaked. . .
I really just like the ability to run at a set voltage till the battery can't support it. Then replace, I do fear that I'll be changing batteries very often, unless there's some magic in these boards that make them put out power longer. I guess that's the idea in running higher ohms...

Well, like a dumbass, I managed to break my fogger tank while cleaning.
So, rather than pay $5 to get a replacement by the end of the week or $2 to get one by the end of the year from Fasttech, I just ordered another fogger
I will order the fasttech replacement soon, and have 2 Foggers. I guess I'll call it a good thing, as I was really liking it. Now I'll have two.

Thanks for the info and pictures on the Fogger V5! Looks really interesting, especially top fill and the drilled out posts that you can use with screws. Looks like a good improvement over the V4.
Son of a. Lost one of my Fogger 4.4. Scowls. Especially annoyed because it was the AMD-modded one. Argh
