Has anyone (or any group) submitted Freedom of Information Act requests to the FDA, National Institutes of Health (NIH) or any other governmental agency that might have performed tests of e-cigs to gauge their vapor content or other pertinent studies and have withheld such information from the public because it runs contrary to their mission to to ban/regulate the industry?

Just wondering.

Don't know about the NIH of the FDA research is very clear- they did it in 2009 and nothing since then...only a few carts from a few companies and formed their conclusions...which were spun into very inaccurate and damaging propaganda against e-cigs. They still have their conclusions up on their website and I guess don't plan to update it with any new, real study or evidence.

I have a FOIA in with FDA for e-mails from the time period leading up to, as well as several months after, the release of the FDA's misleading and inaccurate press release regarding e-cigarettes.

We're at about 6 months of waiting at this point. FDA is a very heavily FOIA'd agency, so it is somewhat excusable. I have two status phone calls from FDA's FOIA people, and I'd be surprised if I didn't receive the results in the next couple months.
