Follow-up advice on Fast Tech orders

Status
Not open for further replies.
Placed my first fast tech order on 3/4, just a small one (clearomizers, adapters, 510 attys - no PV's or batteries). Sent for shipping on 3/13 (USPS ePacket). Currently still in "Origin Post is Preparing Shipment" limbo status.

Just wondering what is the proper general follow-up etiquette. Contact fast tech CS first at the 30-day "shipped" mark (if no change in USPS status)? Then go to Paypal only if no response from FT as well as no change in USPS status before the 45-day order mark?

Actually need the shipping service(HKP, Sin Post, Chiina Post) in order to help. Some do not update on site and it will read as there until it suddenly shows up at your door.

A little confused here. Shipping mode is USPS e-Packet letter. I can access tracking on the USPS website (FWIW). Am I missing something i.e. does USPS interact with those other postal carriers you mentioned?

I'm not sure what you mean to ask here.

FastTech is in China, and yes, it will first need to get from Shenzhen to the USA, for the USPS website to take over, unless I am very much mistaken. I believe USPS has an agreement with HongKongPost concerning e-packets. USPS is also notoriously slow at updating their tracking information.

What others have said about the tracking..... It will look like nothing is happening for a while. You may or may not get an update on the USPS site before it shows up in your mailbox.

FT definitely responds to any ticket you open up, but if something gets delayed, it gets delayed. Everything I've ordered has showed up 2-4 weeks from when FT said it shipped, except for one order (shipped just after CNY) that is taking it's damned sweet time.

No, they don't. I order a Taifun GS clone from Fasttech, and then I check the tracking# from USPS site, it was "preparing for shipping" by EMS (China post)...I thought okay, it was preparing for scan, inspection, then about 14 days later..."arrived in San Fran"...

I ask my wife who was born, raised, etc in China...she said...USPS has no control, influence with China post...she said just be happy it arrived in the US.

I just ordered an out of stock item yesterday. Sometimes you hafta wait to get what you want. Some of the new arrivals work like a pre-order.

Yeah. My point is that if you order out of stock items, you're going to wait. Things that are in stock almost always arrive in 10-20 days.

I apologize if my OP was misconstrued as a complaint about the slow shipping. Though it's my first order, I am aware of the logistics and lack of control with respect to shipping items from overseas. Primarily I wanted to know at what point in time (after an order is sent for shipping) is it appropriate or customary to contact Fast Tech - just to cover the odd event that an order might be lost - so as not to lose the right to have it possibly replaced or else request a Paypal refund ?

I don't know about Fastech, just ordered from them once and it took about 2 weeks, +/-. I was ordering a bit from Focalecig and after the 2 week mark, I'd drop an email to CS (Doris) if there was no movement (ie, collecting, preparing for shipment, notice of shipment, etc.) and she'd be on it, usually in 6 hours or less. If the actual package hasn't been received by the Chinese/Shenzhen postal service within 2 weeks, I'd give them a holler.
I look at it this way, they have your money within a few minutes after you order, if they can't show some movement within 2 weeks, (barring "rain checks"), damn skippy I'm going to want some answers.
I've had 2 orders that actually came into the US through NEW YORK..........like WTH? I'm on the other side of the Nation! Too bad we can't rack up frequent flyer miles.....

At 45 days, if you still have not received it, start a claim with paypal. I did not and am now reliant on what fasttech does because my delivery arrived in NYC customs on Feb 2nd, passed through on the 10th, then vanished. Total time since order is over three months now (ordered Jan 14th). Fasttech has only responded that they must wait for their shipper to find it.

Nothing wrong with your question at all.

You placed an order, you paid for it and you want to get it. What are you, crazy? :D

My last order with them took well over a month and a half. I probably would have contacted them (nothing wrong with that) but I completely forgot that I placed an order.

Thank you, Poet, this is what I was looking for. At least a couple more weeks at this point before I need to worry about it. Good chance the USPS status will update or package delivered by that time, but now I know what the options are.
