thanks for sharing ^_^ it helped to read it (I've only got about a month smoke free under my belt)

You soon get to a point where the not-(whatever-ing) is more the habit than the doing of it, so it would take a lot of effort to actually do whatever it is.. smoke, drink, etc. Inertia sets in at a certain point, especially the older you get. :D That's why after I got past 50 days, I went ahead and got rid of those last 12 "no need to panic" stash of cigarettes. They were really stale by then, but my neighbor's on disability and too broke to care how stale they were, so at least they went to someone who really wanted them -- unlike myself! :thumb: But having the "whatever" out of the house makes it easier to just forget about it, let it go. vaping makes a terrific substitute, and all the different hobby aspects of it make a splendid distraction, a new cool thing to learn, which is also a way of taking responsibility for this aspect of my own health, and after 39 yrs, I'd say it's about damn time! I love technology, I truly do. PCs, the internet, and now electronic "smoking" (which really isn't!). Now we just gotta convince all the ninnies and nannies to leave it alone.

Awesome congratz on a month free from analogs. That's a good amount of time for any smoker, Id say you have it licked just keep you head in the game and don't back down. I had the worst day today since I quit. It wasn't an issue with my vaping just a bad day at work. Seemed like I couldn't fix anything, I got seriously stressed out. I pride myself in what I do and not tooting my own horn, But I'm very good at what I do. I had those old familiar feelings creeping back, and was considering buying a pack of smokes. I eventually just called my dispatcher and checked out for the day. I came home got a shower and went to sleep. I got through this day it was tuff, but I now have another tactic for the bad times. Lost half a days pay but its worth it to not light up.

One day at a time. And etc. ;)

That's just how I was; I didn't want to get all frazzled about it, if it worked, GREAT! If it let me cut down, GREAT! If all it did was let me stay indoors on freezing winter nights, well that was exactly why Ii started with them in the first place! The quitting was kind of a "oh my stars, I think I've found the way," kind of thing, a real surprise! :D

Tomorrow is a big day for me. I'll be 53, and I'll also be 12 weeks smoke-free, and could not be happier about it. First that I've managed to live this long, considering the extreme stupidity of my youth, and that I have not only not smoked a cigarette for 12 weeks, I haven't even wanted one!

Wonders never cease. :D

Way to go Andria. What a great accomplishment! Keep up the good work.

I'm ecstatic about getting to five days! Having big issues with my new itaste SVD that I just bought and now it's shorting out. Made me want a cigarette so bad, but I will hang on and rush back to the store with it ASAP. Hope they can fix me up. If not I'll get something else. Always seems to be issues that challenge my resolve, but when the going gets tough, I get tougher. Sometimes stubbornness is a good trait!

Yeah when I was first trying to puzzle out how to dry burn a coil, I was so stressed I had to grab my eRoll and "pretend smoke" for a while, till I stopped stressing. :D It really worked! Of course I was mainly just handling it, for the tactile comfort, while vaping on my iTaste vv3+T3S, but the familiar size and shape of the eRoll convinced my silly brain that there was nothing to get all stressed about, everything was cool so call off the "red alert." ;)

I like the look of the SVDs a great deal, and had thought that might be my first "real" mod, but I sat for an entire day and read the entire SVD thread, and all the button problems convinced me that I needed to keep looking. The next I was considering was a Sigelei Zmax, and I ended up with that one; apparently some folks have some button issues with it as well, but they're not as common as the button problems with the SVD. It's also quite inexpensive, so if you decide to get something different, I highly recommend it. I have a v3, it's a little cheaper than the v5, and apparently the only difference is that the v5 has one additional menu item, though I don't know offhand what it is. I've been extremely happy with my Sigelei. It also does the telescoping thing, and I love it fully extended; the bottom segment fits my hand perfectly, a nice comfy grip.

Hang in there... 5 days is terrific! This site went completely down on my 5th day smoke free, and I was FREAKING OUT... but somehow I got thru, and by the next day, the site was back. WHEW! :thumb:

Thank You, he has stolen my heart. My daughter and her husband live with us and even though I wish they would get there own place, I'm happy there here. I get to see this little man every single day. I'm at a point I don't care if they ever move out, Or if they do I hope they leave him with me LOL He has incredible gray eyes and the most contagious smile ever.

Vapers who use unflavored never have to worry about it. :)

Vapers who find a flavor that resembles the taste of their cigarettes and who can't find anything even remotely as good never have to worry about it. :D I smoked one brand, one flavor, for 30+ yrs; I didn't ask for a different kind or go "surprise me!" every time I bought a pk of cigarettes; I can't see any reason to do that with e-juice.

I'm the odd duck I switched regularly between Newport menthol and Kools every now and then Id smoke Camel crush. Took a liking to backwoods cigars and smoked those for about 2 months. For me so long as it was Menthol I could smoke it and liked it. when I quit I tried Newport juice and didn't like it at all. I ended up getting a fruit flavor, My favorite fruit being Peaches I got peach juice. I'm missing the menthol I was used to getting from analogs but honestly it doesn't bother me to not have it. I have noticed my sinuses are not as clear but I don't have to blow my nose every ten minutes any more so that's a damn good deal.

I am very proud today as I had the worse work day I have had in a long time. Really busted my hump today, very physically demanding on my body. I didn't get winded even once was able to hold some very heavy weight with what seemed to be some extra power to lift it in place. Mentally it was a very complex day I managed to stay the course and didn't think of smoking even once. I vaped a pretty good bit today, more then usual with no ill effects. I think I'm really starting to accept that I'm not gonna need to smoke ever again. Its rarely on my mind anymore and usually only when I see someone else doing it.

The day I was introduced to vaping is the same day I quit smoking. Had my doubts and demons to battle in the first month. So I lit up a cigarette. Smoked about half of it and was thoroughly disgusted at the taste and smell of it. I'm 50 yrs old and can hardly believe that I've been smoking analogs longer than I haven't. You're 100% right though you have to want to quit, and then do whatever it takes to stay off the analogs. Good luck brother!!!!!

I was able to quit from day 1 as well. I haven't lit one up to see what its like now, to be honest I'm rather scared to do that. I do however pick up on the smell very easily now and it isn't pleasant. I was able to stand around others smoking initially, but now its horable. I don't want the smell lingering on my cloths and have to smell it all day so I avoid smokers. I don't dislike them just don't want to be around it anymore. I also have smoked more years then I haven't and didn't really realize that till you just said it. I wish you the best also Brother Keep at it its a winnable battle.

Today is day 6 for me off the analogs. I didn't quit right when I started vaping, however.

At first I didn't like it. It didn't seem to satisfy any cravings at all. I had a strawberry and caramel flavours, and it just seemed like a novelty to me. Then a buddy of mine hooked me up with an RY4, and a couple other tobacco flavours. That changed everything. The vaping seemed to satisfy the cravings a bit, and it seemed much more satisfying in general.

I was a pretty heavy pack-a-day smoker for 25 years.

I started to vape instead of smoke. At first the vaping would only hold me off of an analog maybe a few times a day, then more, then more. After about a month I was under half a pack a day. After another few weeks, I was down to 4-5 smokes a day. Then over the period of a week I pushed with a bit more determination and last wednesday at 7am I had my last smoke.

I have no desire to smoke again. There are moments here and there when I crave one (I'm not even sure why, really, it doesn't satisfy anything anymore, and just tastes and smells awful), I just vape my brains out.

Will I vape until I die? Will I try to cut down on my nicotine? I dunno...maybe...seems like the right thing to do. But then again, I don't really care. I'm just floored that I don't smoke analogs anymore. If I have to medicate myself with 18mg juice forever, so be it.

Thanks to everyone on this forum, it's been a great source of motivation and information!

Awesome Congratulations on Quitting We all have things that just do the trick for us, Finding that trick be it how you vape or even a juice flavor is key. Be willing to try new things I'm sure you will find little ways to remain smoke free. Good luck my friend I'm pulling for you
