We are in the start of a war here with China as I see it. They are already in the game of big mods. They sell cheap as always and they soon will bring down the western e-cig market (and the rest of all markets in the world).

Tog asked in another forum why we say to a newbie to start with a 510, or a DSE 901 or something similar to e-cigs. He is absolutely right. I dont get it. Its because we care about a newbie and we suggest him something that looks like real cig to start? Its because we want to disapoint him by the small satisfaction that those cigs produce? If we really care about him we will suggest him a mod. Not a Chinese one, but a western mod. We are here to protect all newbies and ourselves too. Are we all resellers of China products at the end?

From what I've read in my short time here people suggest what someone says they want. If they want a cigarette sized PV then that's what's suggested and many tell them also that they're going to want a mod eventually. As for what mod they suggest it should be the one that the person making the suggestion likes best. If the made in USA mods are better then they'll get suggested more. However, no matter what you suggest price is often going to over-rule that from the buyer standpoint.

I would always prefer to support a local (in country/state/county) mod maker as long as the price weren't excessively larger than an equal mod from elsewhere.

I agree with Kat, but would also add that a lot of people will not buy anything at all if the price is "too high". WE know that the price is NOT too high for a great mod, but a potential beginner might not see the benefits in the same way, and merely continue to smoke while they "think about it".

Also, vaping does not work for everyone. I would hate to talk someone into buying $300 worth of stuff, then they find out that vaping isn't for them! Especially when they could have found out with $50 worth of cheaper stuff. In the long run, the $50 was not wasted, and it served the purpose of introducing a smoker to vaping.

I would love to find a better strategy for introducing noobs to vaping, but that one seems best to me, so far.
