Why only a year on mechs? I have a ton of mechs, but I don't expect many of them will be rendered unuseable in the near future.

Just curious....

I needed to put a number in there for how many I could possibly need. I don't use mech on a regular basis. Only tested the ones I have for a short time. I am just playing odds on big numbers with limited knowledge as a backyard mechanic. I do know that things wear out.

Replace battery twice a day= 730 time a year
Replace topper twice a day=730 times a year
Fire device on average 500 times a day =182500

Thats the numbers I worked out for my stash.

For nic, at my current usage levels and quantities used in mixing, I probally have about 10 years worth. But I've been keeping a rotating stock of nic since customs started seizing shipments many years ago.

mods I'm not worried, I can always make my own. After the term mods came about from vapers modifing flashlights, laser pointers and battery boxes. I wind all my own coils and kanthral wire isn't going anywhere. Toppers should also be easily available as they are sold for use with "other substances, that must remain un-named". As legalization occur in more states, availability will increase.

All my mods were released at least a year ago and I picked them based on reliability. Even saying that I have assigned a 3 month life expectancy for regulated and 1 year on mechs.

If they last longer than that and I am sure they will on average I have a lot of years.
Have you looked at Provaris? They are known to be the most reliable and long-lived. Vapers are easily getting 5 or more years out of them and now is good time to get them. Their specials page has some at $30-40. Specials of the week.

I looked at the in my first few months of vaping and looked at them really hard when the clearance started months ago. They would work fine for me a my radius does. I don't go over 10 watts. The one problem is I do not have any confidence the AW button tops will be available or an scavenged source 20 years from now.

@corn flakes do you mean the batteries? Those are used by many other devices besides our mods so that should not be a problem. The AWs are the highest recommended for safety but there are others that very safe as well.

It's just me thinking about the doomsday scenario. I have sourced flat top 18650 from many alternate items, Dewalt or Rigid use Samsung 25r in some packs . I have not found anything other than a vape shop that has button tops. The shipping restrictions on lithium batteries this year caught me off guard. My plan has always be able to source everything I need going forward locally.

3 liters of nicotine, 3 gallons of VG, 1 gallon of PG. Mainly for my dad, I can stop now if I wanted to. My dad isn't at that point yet. My dad and I just vape unflavored. Mod wise, I have a mod that doesn't break. I just have to worry about batteries in the future.
you sound like me but I have a lot of different flavors if I so choose. I vape Unflavored 75-85% of the time and my dad does Unflavored 100% of the time. I am Good for about 20 years as well. That just might be enough time for things to turn around.......Or I should just order enough for about 50 years and not worry......Not to expensive either!!!

Perhaps a couple of these adapters in your stash would give you peace of mind - Flat Top Battery Adapter | SmokTek.com

They are available in several places on the net. I looked when I started stocking because I too didnt know how readily available they would be. Here is one RTD Electronix. This is the same people as RTD Vapes but thats their regular site.

I like that adaptor that @440BB mentioned. If it's safe I'm buying one. Thanks @440BB!

Yep, I consider them my sole source for batts. Maybe I can find them a little cheaper else where, but I would rather buy from what I feel is a reputable source when it comes to batts...
Yup. When it comes to batteries I dont mess around. The chance of explosion is not worth the couple of dollars I would save.

The mechanical I've been using this am. is over 6 years old. (a Maco)
I'm also using a Provari (V1) that was made in 2010.

The real longevity to a mod is in the degree of use it is being subjected to. If you are rotating 30 mods and it last 6 years before it breaks - well then it lasted about 3 months with regular use, but if you don't rotate or rotate only 1 or 2 mods then you have a winner if it lasts 6 years... :)

When someone posts how long their mod has lasted and I am thinking about buying one - I always ask how much they rotate...

Most of my mods are tucked away in the zombie box. I use 3 mechanical mods daily (3 different flavors)
    (Mako, Caravela, and a N-Zonic)

BTW, that Mako fell out of my duck blind some years ago, and spent a week in the mud on the bottom of Ogden Bay. (my dog found it). New battery and a new atomizer, (was using old 510 atomizers back then) and it worked just fine .... and it still works just fine.

I still say that the Mako has the best switch ever put on a mechanical.

stuck in a squishy pod called my brain
my estimated life is to 86 (based on lifestyle calcs).. I always figure 80years for everyone.. so i will add 10 years for future improvements.

i am nearly 0 nic every day,, i have 1.5+ gallons of 100mg nic,, 8 reg. mods and 2 mechs. 7 tank atty's. + 3 dripper rda's. i have bought plenty of glass,, i probably have enough wire because i bought a multipack on amazon of kanthal 100ft per roll..yet i did give 2 rolls away i may replace.....or not. i have bought bits and pieces for tweaking etc.....rayon for life lol==i figure i spent well under $700 for my lifetime future of non smoking/ active vapor.--my phone app says as of today i have save $2956 not buying cigs,, and i am not even a whole year into vaping.

my future purchases are vg, pg, and flavors and batteries
