I noticed a B&M opening 6 stores in the next 45 days. Another in my area is opening another store, which for the area I know he will be paying huge overhead in rent alone. Let me first say "good for them and their family". I am happy to see anyone succeed. It sort of raises the question for me that I may need a little help as to not have a negative answer. Maybe I am a little biased here. I do tend to root for the underdog. After all... I am a Browns fan. So my concern is rather or not to support their business. So why support someone so big? I wonder what got him there for me to want to support him. I mean.. Is his juice really that good? Or is it just a lot of financial backing, and fancy labeling? If that's the case I will continue my search for that little, 2 employee store, that only talent is what keeps the doors open. I need help with this. I like to see the vape community grow, and stores bringing in many vapers to one place. I would like a cool place to hang out, and vape with others. But I want to keep the quality that a small store brings because he has to make each customer happy to survive. I am not going to support someone who got where he is just because he had more money for marketing. Unfortunately that is what I see when I see 6 stores opening at once.

I have a felling out of those six stores, there will be one that you feel more comfortable with & rather do business. What I'm noticing is that a lot of B&M stores come across as arrogant & flat out rude. I'm sure answering a million questions gets old...but so does being a bartender & dealing with drunks. There's no excuse. I still find a way to provide a good service with out being a d*$#.

Just because they have the biggest inventory doesn't always make them the best. To me customer service trumps all.

I work at a b&m. I take time to explain everything I can to new or potential vapors. The place I work is small sells mostly starter kits and their own mix of juice. Being small helps when you wanna have 1 on 1 time with a customer but at the same time not much money in it. I say go to one see how it "feels" then see if it's a right fit for you. Big company or small one if you don't click with the person helping you then odds are you won't be going back.

I get what you're saying, OP. There's a B&M close to me that's way too "slick" for my taste and, from what I can tell, makes money off newbies that don't know any better. You can tell they spent a ton of money, but they have terrible customer service (in spite of having about 6 employees on the floor) and sell crappy hardware. On the other hand, my favorite B&M isn't fancy but has awesome CS and only sells quality merchandise. Plus, it's a cool place to hang out and they really appreciate their customers. If I ever need anything local, you can bet I'll give them my business and feel good about supporting such great business owners.

In the current environment, it's not just a financial commitment to open any B&M that offers a line of PV goods .. it's also quite a leap of faith considering the unknown regulatory issues that may or may not come down ..

Support it as a customer .. ?? That would depend on it's post-opening look, feel and merch cost ..

Generally, I prefer to support an American business, even though most of what they sell comes from China ..

Whatever you do, always keep in mind prices may seem high in comparison to mail order .. it's expensive to own a B&M ..

if you like the juice and the prices support them, if not then no. If I see a b&m open close by and have awful juice then why should I give them charity, if a big company has excellent juice and prices then why will I pass on that opportunity... for the the size doesn't matter, just the quality of goods and service

The feedback is right in line with my thought's. The only way I can see a B&M going at such a fast rate is feeding off the newbies. Unfortunatly it's likely these people will be unimpressed with low grade juice and weak starter kits that has been marked up 300%. I emailed the B&M with six stores opening and they proudly admitted they will be offering 2 grades of juice. Lower grade going to the new stores, and if you want the premiems it will need to be orderd either web, or through these shops.

Feeding off the newbies seems a little harsh to me ..

Any shop of this type will get it's majority business from new folks .. because those of us that are veterans in many cases already know what we like and own hardware ..

One of the reasons people open a shop or six is it's a growth industry .. growth means newbies .. it's the natural way of things ..
