For the past 3 months, my attys stops working right after 1 or 2 days

My boyfriend and I have used the Ego for about 9 months. About 3 months ago my 510 atty would start to not work correctly after about a week or so. It would go from producting tons of vapor, a moderate throat hit, and a great flavor - to almost no vapor production and a burnt taste after just a few puffs. It was not the battery because it did that with a brand new battery and a brand new atty. A few weeks ago, every atty did the same thing, but after only one or two days of use! I am a heavy user, almost constantly vaping. SO i thought it could be caused by that. But i have always been and it never did this the first 6 months. Ive tried attys and batteries from all different companies- still the same issue. I thought maybe because it started to taste and feel out of liquid after just a few puffs, i would add 2 more drops of liquid into my atty (i use a drip tip). Then after doing that for a day, it would stop working right so i thought maybe i was flooding it. But i am NOT going to use it if its out of liquid. And if i thought it was flooded, i would blow it out...but barely any liquid would come out.
My boyfriends never did this to him up until about 2 weeks ago. Now his are doing the EXACT same thing! what is up with this?

So my question is- WHAT THE HECK IS GOING ON WITH MY 510 ATTYS?!?!

Is there any different type of attomizer that works better than the 510? Is there any e cig that works better than the ego? Could it be because i drip instead of use a cartridge?

I have spent so much money on new attys and its getting rediculous.

of all your parts that arentworking properly it sounds like the only common denominator is your battery u should use a volt meter to see what ur battery is putting out also what type of atty are they lr, 1.5 2.0 3.0?

i was using a 2.0 regular 510. then when those quit working well after just a few days i started to use the 1.5 lr, and those are doing the same now. i dont know how it could be the battery because like i said- ive bought all new ego batteries and its still doing the same thing. I have always used an ego and it never did this before.

Your attys may just be clogged. There are lots of ways to clean them. I would suggest buying a voltmeter/ohmmeter. This will allow you to test the atty to see if it is burned though.

okay. i have cleaned a few of them. And they still wont work correctly. but my point is- i AM NOT going to spend $8 for something that is just going to stop working 2 days later. its pointless. and it SHOULD NOT being going out that quickly. or tasting burnt after two puffs. So are there any other atomizers or ecigs that work better?

Some liquids will slag atty wick/coil in no time.

Dark flavors are rough on atty.

Some light flavors kill atty also.

Have you tried new atty w/ flavorless?

From where I sit a 5 pack of cartomizers for $8 will last a month or more. I use 2.7ohm xl clearomizers on my ego to great effect. With cleaning 1 can last a month. I think you may have been lucky with atty's for a while. for me it's been nothing but trouble with atty's since day one 2 years ago.

I've had the same issues with 510's and Cisco LR 306 attys. First few months, worked pretty good. I too wonder if my big battery mod's batteries are the problem but I've only had it 6 months and don't vape continuously.

I bought a MaxxFusion and cartomizers with decent, not great, results. I can get a cart to last about a week after refilling 3-4 times...then the filling fries and/or vapor production decreases too much, plus I don't quite get the satisfaction that I do with a mod when it's working well.

I would be interested in the Ego with Clearomizers? How do you get them to last a month? Can you refill them? Do you get prefilled or blanks? How does the 2.7 ohm differ from MaxxFusion carts? It could be the MaxxFusion carts are 2.7 ohm, I just haven't checked.

Vaping is good, but equipment issues and performance are frustrating.

I hear ya...been having same problem myself..and i've been vaping for 1 yr. now....
I think their deliberately sabatoging the attys' so they can sell more...more sold.more profits.

How else can i go from atty's lasting 2 months....to 1 month...to 2 or 3 days?

I pretty much stopped using atties about a month ago for the very same reason. I strictly use cartos now. I don't get nearly the longevity that some folks have reported with cartos. They generally only last me 2-3 days, which is about how long I was getting from atties, but they are a lot cheaper and less hassle.

I've gotten at least a week out of both the Boges and CCV's, and sometimes 2 weeks. This is only my first batch of 15 so I'm still only learning the ropes of extending the life; however, that's the great thing about Cartos - Once you replace one, your replacing your Atty as well for that fresh and crisp new flavor --- There's nothing like the first puff on a new carto and your favorite Juice....mmmmmmmm....

FYI - I'm using an Ego Clone, Riva SE.

Could it be a crappy knockoff ego or crappy 510 atomizers? It could be a short in the battery, or just cheaply made atomizers. I suggest purchasing from someone who offers a warranty. A good warranty would not be offered if the atomizers/batteries were junk.

I'm in the same boat - I just can't get atomizers to work well for more than a few days. It really bums me out. I love johnson creek liquid. It has a great taste out of a good atomizer, but after about two days, it does not seem to matter how I clean them or what I do - I no longer get good vapor, taste, etc. My favorite liquid just doesn't taste as good out of a carto, either. Cartos are definitely the way to go due to price and longevity (for me). I've used the same three cartos for over two weeks now, refilling each almost daily.

I wish I could figure out the trick. A few things I've noticed:

1. The cartridge makes a difference. I have found that most of my cartridges do not allow enough liquid to wick into the atomizer. Removing some of the stuffing helps, but it is super tricky to not accidentally remove too much, flooding the atomizer.
2. It seems that atomizers never seem to work well after cleaning - the longer you can hold off the better. I recommend blowing them out instead until that doesn't work anymore.
3. Directly dripping into the atomizer gives me better results for a while, but eventually I wind up flooding the atty too much.

I am tending to agree with you. Could be the bait and switch conspiracy in play. New user - given them good stuff. Hooked user - give them the knock off, high margin stuff. Actually don't think that but the big inconsistency experienced makes one wonder. Why is it that at first use atty seems to work forever, and flavor and vapor is ever so good. But we are indoctrinated to know that atty just can't last forever. First or second replacement - then the inconsistent results and purchase of more and more to get back to that first experience. There has to be that perfect PV (and accessories) that gives consistent and good results. Just haven't found it yet. I guess it's the search for the Marlboro of the vaping world. But do I have to spent umpteen dollars and suffer all the frustrations in between - to finally find it?

Well - kind of think that 8 bucks should be given some perspective in terms of cigs. How long did 8 bucks last with cigs? If in KY - longer than many places by 2 days means you are in the cheapo shorts. And 8 bucks in cigs goes less and less every day. Not advocating as not a solution at moment for me but best fix is to get away from cigs then, when appropriate, dump the e-cigs.

You could try IKV attys from Ikenvape or Cisco attys from Avid Vapor.

Me? I mostly use cartos, but haven't really been satisfied by any I've used on an eGo. I use a Buzz Pro with mine.

This is curious indeed, as I have recently (in the past month) experienced the same thing. I only use EGO LR attys, and have been exclusively using an Expresso juice by one vendor. Month back, I could generally get about 2 weeks out of a LR atty (I only drip), and it would pop/fail. Fine, replace, and go another 2 weeks. Had only one fail after 2 days, but overall, it was about 1.5-2.0 weeks.

On my last purchase from my juice vendor, I decided to purchase 3 30mL bottles of my fav, to cut down on the orders. 1st bottle, no problem, but when I started getting into the 2nd, then 3rd bottle, after about 2 days, the attys would get VERY hard to draw from. Not alot of vapor, or flavor. Cleaned with boiling water, and it seemed to bring a few back to life, but after a day or two, right back to being clogged.

I have a large surplus of batteries, and order my LR attys 5 at a time, from same vendor, so the only thing I know has changed, is that I purchased (3) 30mL bottles, which meant that they sat for quite awhile, as opposed to my previous method, of ordering (1) 30mL and reordering later.

Not sure if the original poster is using juice that has steeped for quite awhile or not. When I read the frustruation in her post, it reminded me of how I felt.

Although it seems possible that "steeped" e-liquid could explain too frequent atty failure, that seems unlikely here. I suspect more likely culprit here is bad batch of attys. Buying as 5 pack, those attys probably came from same machine, same coil of nichrome wire, etc. LR attys are high risk to begin with. "Steeping" of 2nd and 3rd bottle here not that great. Maybe save some of that 3rd bottle and try on a 2nd batch of attys and see what kind of results obtained.
