Ok nothing really to do with PG but all hypoallergenic and things labeled like that in the cosmetic industry there are no guild lines so all it means is that the manufacture thinks it will irritate people less. So basically it does not mean anything. If you know something is an irritant to you read the ingredient label to avoid it. All cosmetics have to list the ingredients. (same thing goes for sensitive skin stuff as for the hypoallergenic stuff...)

Working in the cosmetic industry, I totally agree with this! Knowing some, if not most of the ingredients on labels can be really helpful. e.g. lanolin and/or lavender are often in moisturizers, but most people may not realize they are skin irritants. (Personally lanolin really wreaks havoc on my skin, so I stay away from it).

Back on topic, I don't really think I'm allergic to PG in relation to vaping. I do get a sore throat if I don't drink enough fluids, but that seems to be it thankfully.

This is all so interesting! Goodness, there is so much to this e-cig business :) I'm glad to read about some of your "symptoms" so I won't freak out when I start. I am of course going to check out the PG/VG thing -- I don't know off the top of my head which kind is the liquid I ordered. Nor do I think I'm sensitive to PG, but who knows.

I'm totally new to this, but it seems I read on some thread about cutting your juice with glycerin -- or is that a problem substance for some people also? I have some -- don't recall what skin-care thing I had gotten it for. But it is to make your juice last longer and also be less strong?

Well, don't mind me, the newbie with tons of questions and hasn't even vaped yet.

V.G.=Glycerin= Glycol They are basicly the same thing. I think Glycerin is thicker and maybe a tad sweeter. That's it. If you ordered from a supplier and weren't asked to choose between P.G. and V.G., then you got P.G.
Glycerin is used to thicken, to cut, to lower nic or to extend the amount of liquid. To increase vapor production and just because it's sweet.:p
You may have to thin P.G./Glycerin a bit if you use it to vape, use water or alcohal.
If the Glycerin in your house says USP it's safe to use. If you bought it for skin care then it will say that. There is another type of Glycerin used in soap making that's not food grade. Please check your bottle.
As for symptoms, There are over 11,000 people on this board and 5,000 or so are active. A small percentage of those people have reported problems, of those who did, very few still have them after a couple of weeks. I had some lovely spots on my chin, just like a teen, but they faded.
I think it's withdrawal rather then Vaping, except for those who have issues with P.G.. Don't worry about it until you get them..worry can cause symptoms!

Hi MK! The liquids I got from Vapor Station have both PG and glycerin. I listed ingredients below from their website, just for anyone's interest.

Thanks for your information also. Absolutely true about not worrying! I am so not worrying, thank you very much. I finally got to try vaping last night, and have felt no odd "symptoms." You're so right also about many things that come up will be due to withdrawal from tobacco-smoking, rather than anything to do with the e-cig.

Anyway, I don't think, so far, that I need to start messing with my own recipes or anything. I have some other liquids on order, but the ones I got are basically fine, without mixing them or anything. Unless, I guess, if it comes down to an economical thing to dilute the liquids I get.

Now I need to look up what those other ingredients are.

More later, elsewhere... Of course I have a lot to say, besides I LOVE VAPING.
