that setting should be done in your browser and will carry over to all sites you visit ;)

setting adobe flash to 'ask to activate' stops the videos from loading and playing automatically - as to pics and gifs, i believe there is a setting in your profile page. since i allow these i have no idea if the settings carried over.
here is a test for you ;)

XF isn't non-user friendly. It just has a different way of doing things. The change is extremely beneficial to ECF, especially in terms of SEO. Within 2 days, our bounce rate was cut by over 75%.

Just curious. Has the number of visitors gone up?

The part of Canada that doesn't get enuf Snow :(
See the first few posts in this thread on how the new software works: Xen Foro tips and tricks | E-Cigarette Forum

To see which threads you're following, there's a "Watched Threads" link at the top of the page. Once there, you'll see a Show All Watched Threads link at the lower left of that list to see all threads you're following.

That's all fine and dandy I figured that out on my own but you reall didn't answer my question. When I go to followed threads it shows a whole list of them in no logical order ie ones that I haven't seen in God only knows how long and the current ones are all mixed in way down the list. So now I have to sort thru pages of threads to get to what I'm currently posting in. And the other thing why doesn't the go to first read button show up most of the time ? I get a notification alert but the buttons not there ?

The only "turn off" option in XF is for signatures. I did a quick look to see if there was an addon we could install that provides this, but I'm not finding much, if anything.

Thanks for looking Retired 1 guess I'll be cutting down my time here to about a tenth of what it was at ten bucks a GB it adds up quick !

remember, adobe flash is an add-on in your browser and can be turned off. not sure if you can also turn off pictures and gifs but it might be worth a search

Ok retired one. This morning it seems a little better. Regarding watched threads showing up in a more logical order.

the sorting order is different in xf - it's no longer according to when you responded ;) nice thing though - the threads you have lost interest in can be deleted

Ya I've been bumbling my way they that. I did like the old system better and it worked amazing in my mobile devices. If everyone just got apple products they wouldn't have to worry about this issue of the forum working on mobile devices because the old one did  thanks for all the work :) hint for more adaptations of you got an apple programmer to assist this forum wouldn't be so PC like and would be much more easily navigated by simple minds like me :)

It never even occurred to me that this might be possible.
But I Googled it and just made it happen.

You are my new best friend!

    friendship accepted! ;)

i had no choice but to find a solution - my connection is marginal and with all those videos trying to load i wasn't getting anywhere
data usage wasn't/isn't my main concern - i'm lucky enough to have an unlimited plan, grandfathered in from years ago.

I did a quick look to see if there was an addon we could install that provides this, but I'm not finding much, if anything.

OF Course, although I was never train as an IT professional and do not know anything that it really entails - nor at times what I am doing . . . I have also been taking a "Look See" at the "Xen Foro" website, especially to see if I could find "Stuff" (a workaround/code/"Add On" {especially one that doesn't cost ECF money) to address some of the issue's people have mentioned and hopefully out help at a little . . .

    AND - WOW ! ! !

After the past few days, I really do not envy what "You" and the rest of the ECF migration/transition team have to go through - nor been going though . . . It is NOT EASY AT ALL (especially given that I do not know how to do this ) . . . SO "My" hat is off to each and every one that are behind the scenes accomplishing what you've done and are still doing . . .

    SO, Once Again -

NOW - Even with that said and that this is NOT a Priority at all, just a suggestion and something to think about for the future concerning the "Conversations" page . . .

With there being a number of people who are OCD or just like to organize what they are saving on ECF via "Conversations" . . . The
    idea.gif
. . . Is there a way that the team can create some additional "Tabs"/"Node"/"Sub-Navigation Tabs" (or can "We" be allowed to create them as we did with "folders") so that the Conversations can be "Moved" there as "We" can now do with moving them to "Filtered" . . . It might be of a benefit to many people in the long run . . .
    bright-idea-smiley-emoticon.gif

Again - Just a thought and possible solution for some . . .
    being-confused-smiley-emoticon.gif

Okay - I think as gracefully as I can, it is time for "Me" to just . . .

Okay - Is there anyway to get rid of that recently added "Profile Statistics Information" box that is now coming up on the right side of every page and also move the "Staff Online Now", "Forum Statistics", and especially the "Share This Page" with all the "Social Media" links back to the bottom of the page . . . Although I know I can scroll past all of them, they are taking up way to much real estate at the top of the page and more importantly, have become extremely annoying to see each and every page to say the least . . . :censored:

    Thank You . . . :D
