Ok, I'm stumped. I tried to change my signature by taking out the joined date and location and get an error msg saying my sig is 79 chars too long and 1 line too much. What the ? Did something get changed that I don't know about? I've been following this thread since day one and don't remember anything about a change.

BTW, thanks for adding joined date and location under our avi's. :)

Imported signatures from the old vB system were ignored by the restrictions. And yes, a blank line is still a line.

Ok, so now that you know that my sig is too long are you going to slap my hand if I leave it until the char limit is increased, if it is increased? :D

Character limits are now in line with what we had before, which is 400 characters.

There is still a 3 line, 2 image, 2 link restriction.

Ouch!

So I believe my sig is under 400 chars but I have a blank line giving me 4 lines. I'll try editing my sig again and see if I get that error msg.

Well, I can't find any hard rule that I could use in order to make a clear distinction.

I can see a rule about "language" but that refers to semantics of the sentences (I can be very vulgar and / or obscene using plain, common daily use words too; so this doesn't clarify much about the words themselves).

Should we infer that the "inappropriate" words are those transformed into *** and anything else goes?

4. Site Policy
a. ECF is a work-friendly and family-friendly environment. This means that if a work colleague or family member looks over your shoulder while you are visiting ECF, they must not see any material that might easily offend or that may be unsuitable for children.
b. Additionally, colleagues or children must not hear language that may be offensive, for example when a video is being viewed.
c. Offensive materials are not permitted. If posted to the site, they will be removed and the member who posted the material will receive an infraction. Do not post any material that may be considered offensive, whether it is text, graphics, video or audio.
d. Do not post links to such materials.

Can't get any clearer than that.

Font size is limited to #1, just as it was in the old forums.

But it wasn't, in the old forum -- I used #3 in my sig line, but can't now -- bold is the best I can do. That's why I had to add the line with my join date/quit date directly to the image, so it was large enough.
