I have already ruled out everything on my end.

I'm curious as to what your ping times are and how your ISP throughput is faring. Jitter is a good test to run since it checks moment to moment lapses in throughput. Speedtest.net - The Global Broadband Speed Test is a good one.

Run the speed test on that page, then click on the ping test icon. The ping test will test your ping variance, packet loss, jitter, and then will report your line quality in a letter grade format along with the results for the various tests.

Tell us what that report says, just for grins. It might be interesting to run it again when the problem is severe just to see what kind of load lag your ISP is experiencing. The problem could be regional or time/load sensitive.

There could also be a resistive connection in your house wiring to Telco or cable internet connections. I've had this happen in my home. I'm wired with CAT5-E cable throughout, but the RJ-45 and RJ-11 connections sometimes needed to be cleaned. I use Nyogel on the connections to prevent oxidation and that keeps things running very smooth.

run the ping test, whis - just out of curiosity ......

i know that's where most of my problems come from. your isp seems way better than mine but it won't hurt to make sure .....

I'm with AT&T DSL 6mbps and it slows at times. Sometimes youtube videos stop and re-buffer while I'm watching. It's an AT&T complaint that frequently pops up. Some think that's AT&T limiting throughput to competitive streaming content providers, since they offer their own movie services online. There's also some concern that AT&T is shifting DSL users to slower routers to free up the fast links for their telco based TV packages with movie downloads through their U-Verse service.

My Ping test this morning is an A line quality with 36ms ping, 0 packet loss, and 9ms jitter. That can vary during peak times when everyone is loading down the internet. My speedtest is running 5.78mbps with an upload speed of .473mbps.

There are times when those numbers are lower. I attribute that to ISP load.

Wow! I got an "F" on the speedtest. Slower than 93% of US. I use lowest cost Verizon DSL.

    Ping test-Got an "A".

Forum works flawless for me, no errors, interruptions, or slowness noted.

I use Windows Defender firewall and antivirus, occasionally run Malwarebites. I do have the Verizon firewall turned off/lowest setting so I can play POKERSTARS.

    Yes & Yes

    Sorry whiskey. :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

There is one more thing you can try.

When my old PC was wacked, I noticed this.

That the ECF loaded Slow when I was logged in. But if I was logged out it ran like normal.

Next time things are running slow, try Logging Out of the ECF and seeing if the page load times are the same.

And now back to my question....:):):)

Now I am peacefully asking if this problem is being worked on...I don't want to be flamed , but suffering with this for several months now and all the fixes & ad blockers only cause more confusion...is admin REALLY looking for a cure for this problem???
Last night I got "forum too busy" try again later for 2 hours.

The only way to tell where whiskeys problems lie have nothing to do with ping tests. When she has connectivity issues she should run a traceroute from her computer -- and from there it can be seen where her connection issues lie. The traceroute needs to be run when she is having her connection issue . A random traceroute or ping test means nothing in trouble shooting -- for instance here is my traceroute now:

    TraceRoute to 72.52.242.206 [www.e-cigarette-forum.com]

Hop (ms) (ms) (ms) IP Address Host name
    1 1 0 0 8.9.232.73 xe-5-3-0.edge3.dallas1.level3.net

Server load issues are probably not what she is experiencing because if the server load spikes for that long the network monitoring package would page our server tech, same thing would happen if the router acts up (a page would be sent).

Remember that we can only control what happens at our end, and even then we only have limited control because the data center has to react to our service call. Sometimes these issues are indeed the fault of our servers, but in order to tell when it is we need times and traceroutes. if the logs don't indicate an overloaded server at the time of the incident, then the traceroute can at least tell us where the connectivity issue lies and who to contact and ask to look at it. that doesn't guarantee a fix, but most providers so at least try to make sure their equipment is working.

Wow Sarge, almost like giving your computer steroid tests...LOL....I kid!!!
I imagine you guys run tests like this on your servers as well?
I'll try to sit back & understand all that, but I bet yor response gets a bit of feedback too. Thanks for posting that.:)

tracert is Great tool for checking for connection and or what the Hops or How Many Hops there were. If you can't make a connection with the ECF or any other Network Location using is helpful.

But tracert alone might not be enough to tell why a Particular site is running slow.

Did you try Logging Out and going to the ECF as a Guest when you experience Slow page loads?

BTW - As with Most DOS Commands, if you type the Command follwed by /? you will get a list of Switches that can be turned on to give type of reports.

    ie:

    tracert /?

    ping /?

    netstat /?

BTW2 - All of these DOS Commands are run from a DOS prompt. In WIN7, type cmd.exe in the Search for Programs and Files box to start a DOS Prompt. When your done, type exit to close the DOS Prompt.
