forgive any grammar errors as im a little dyslexic and forgive the photo...my phone is just crap

OK so last night I was a bit miffed(for want of a better word) with the constant burnt taste every so often over the top of a lovely flavour and more often than not a dense voluminous vapour reminiscent of the imist so I figured a dry burn clean was in order.so rinsed the wick under the hot tap then proceeded to dry burn for 3 or 4 seconds which I did 3 times. whilst the coil was burning hot noticed it wasn't dead centre so slightly wiggled the wick out a little to line it up with the air hole hoping this may somehow cure the problem. still the coil remain off centre so bit more wiggling and then some more didn't solve it so came to the presumption that the coil and exposed wick are separate but did reveal to my surprise that the hidden piece of the wick that lay in the centre was extremely(and I mean extremely) blackened.

I at 1St put it down to my over enthusiasm of dry burning so preceded to rinse under a hot tap...then soaked in a cup of water all of which did nothing.
then I thought well if the burn bit is aligned with the air-hole maybe this is what is causing my mystery burnt taste...so I figured ill wiggle it over so try replacing sleeve and filling carto with unburned bit aligned with air-hole and guess what....no burnt taste....just dense clouds of vapour with a gorgeous taste of flavourful raspberry.

then on thinking about it ....how could I of burnt the wick with just 3 dry burns from wet? I mean this isn't just a little burnt, its completely black. how had this mysterious burnt taste which I had witness from the 1St toke on the 1St fill completely of disappeared and how even though it was extensionally been disabled into just using just 1 side of the wick(other side being blackened so not feeding juice) and felt like wicking was struggling(even though using 100%PG) producing clouds of vapour every toot I took instead of being hit and miss?

guess it came pre-burnt? funny didn't see that option in the drop down boxes.

I been vaping on it for a day now and no burnt taste what so ever....hoping someone eager little youtuber will come up with a way to replace that wick.

incidentally I left a half filled tank upright over night and hey presto....it was still in there in the morning, a switch from the 3 previous times it just randomly decided to drop the juice out of the bottom like an expectant mother whos waters had just broke and the centre pin remained dry as a bone the whole time.

it seems somewhat unbelievable that the wick would come pre-burnt....and another thing, I thought it wasn't possible to burnt a wick as it so should just wash off?

I can address what I saw when I was modding my C8's wick... The one I had looked perfectly fine, it wasn't burnt looking and I saw no other issues that I was concerned about... all looked perfectly in order on mine.

Mine was having dry hit issues so if any of them were being burnt by having the wick go dry... I feel mine would have shown that same problem...

I know there have been many various issues reported... from ones that work perfectly to some with either just a dry hit or a minor leak... to some with both issues consistantly ( mine was consistant dry hits and occasional leak outs )... but I have trouble believing a C8 actually was sent out with a burnt wick when the one I had appears to be made of silica.

yeh i see what you mean...does seem strange, even stranger that this blackness doesnt wash off as it would with a ce2.
perhaps it isnt even burntess.

all i know is i received this on tues and have been using in rotation with couple of other attys and from the 1st puff on the first fill i got burnt taste that went away once i moved the wick.

guess im cursed when it comes to ce3 type devices

Has anyone tried to just remove the whole cap altogether (metal ring included), filling directly from bottle, and replacing the whole cap; leaving the nipple and mouthpiece attached? I just tried it and it seems to work. Of course it helps to have already removed the metal ring before, and just tugging on the mouthpiece to pull the whole thing off. :)

Hey guys, I'm wondering if the innards of these fluoresce or glow at all - I don't think it does, but I'm not 100% from the vids I've seen.

I know it sounds like an odd question, but I have epilepsy and on a bad day anything glowing/flashing/fluorescing, or lighting up intermittently (especially near my face) can cause problems.

Nope. It doesn't fluoresce. Well, I don't know if it glows under blacklight - I haven't been clubbing in quite a while.

Actually this didn't end up working out very well for me. I don't recommend this method.
