This is what happened with aidtech.

They are looking for customers to sell to wholesale. They offered a few samples to people who are willing to do a review/quality test on their own eGo, and other PV products.

When companies see the great review on their products they will contact them to buy. They want to make themelves known, and this thread here, was made to suck you in, and it worked.

For people here who have never dealt with a vendor, the $45 is not a scam. They want to make sure you are going to conduct business with them after the sample testing. Not run away with the free ..... like a kid with stolen candy.

I would have believed that, had I not tried to contact TNT myself to verify shipping fees. The phone numbers listed on the website are not valid ones. No response to my email inquiry either.
As for contacting the company to ask for the sample offer that OP received, what did you think would happen when you posted a thread basically advertising( for them) a free Ego kit ? I am sorry that this ordeal has been difficult for Simon. I'd like to believe he is a stand up guy whose biggest problem is a rip off shipping company. That being said, I will not pay $45.00 for shipping of a trial product.

So if the product is tried and it is found to be defective or unfavorable and received a bad review, I guess the reviewer can kiss that $45.00 goodbye since he/she would not order from them in the future, therefore not be entitled to the "refund" for shipping charges. Hmmmmm

I won't flame you being as you are from Arcata. I went to High School there and lived in Orick. I had to ride a school bus a hour and a half each way to high school. Sometimes when we had a big storm we didn't get home until after midnight because of the giant Redwoods that would fall across the road and the loggers would be out cutting them up so we could get by. That was back in the 50's.

Back to e-cigs. I'm the one that made the thread and had no ideal it would cause all the confusion. It was not a setup by AidTech or me. Simon is trying to create some goodwill for his company and that is it. They can't send everyone a free Ego and free shipping and here is what he emailed me.

I got the letter the other day, emailed them, and I have been chatting with Simon too. He's quoted me 3 different shipping quotes so far, $28US, $25US, and now $50US, I just called him out on it. I wouldn't mind paying the $25 cause I know EMS charges about $20 for most of my over seas orders, but he's obviously inconstant, and now reading this thread has me even more concerned. I keep saying I will only use paypal, and he keeps pushing the WU. I don't know what to think, this is very fishy to me.

I don't know why they choose TNT, I can get any sized order from Eastmall for $15 flat shipping.

i agree I go thru MANY cn websites. ALL of which offer FREE shipping or a 15.00 flat rate fee. Sorry but 50 or even 45.00 IS a scam. IDC which way you look at it. I myself told him I do video reviews and it would be simply for that and passed on to another person to do the same thing to get HIS company recognition. Why would I already owning 2 genuine Joye eGos go and pay 10.00 MORE for something that sounds fishy anyway. At 1st he's willing to do it, then it's 50.00 shipping then it's 45.00. Plus the fact that I too tried contacting TNT via phone and it's not in service and directs me to my local 411. I also did a TNT shipping from CN to the USA and kinda funny with the weight he's saying of .5kg it's only asking 25.00...

call me an ....... call me calling him out as rude. but to me it seems like a scam for anyone to pay 45.00 for something they can get from a US store for CHEAPER. I was also sent another email after telling him how I felt and then he wanted to knock it down to 25.00 shipping (which it should have been in the 1st place).

again PASS because at this point it's not worth it. I did my review for my Joye eGo kit from Liberty-Flights and will continue to buy from them. Next my Riva for 30.00 + 2.99 shipping.

Do let us know [if] when you get your eGo tumbleweed. and let us know if it comes TNT or EMS. Sorry but it sounded fishy from the beginning and it still does after the e-mails and phone call. Sorry I have no plans on buying or sending anyone to his company to buy anything, maybe that's why people are being declined because they aren't wanting to buy in bulk when they can find better deals out there.

Nothing personal against Simon, but I didn't see anything nice about him or his professional ethic. How hard is it to mass send the same email with the same bogus number and shipping fee to 100's of people?

Well the problem began when I posted this and I didn't think they would be bombarded with people thinking they would get a free Ego with free shipping. Mine is in the mail and I have a tracking number from TNT in fact it is in Hong Kong right now so I will be receiving it and the people that received the letter got free shipping. So they were totally upfront with me from the beginning and I hope they didn't get any negative publicity because of my post. By the way the offer came in the postal mail not email.

Ok wise guy you are living up to your NY image! I didn't think you had any manners or class so I guess you can't show any.

Sorry tumbleweed, I do apologize. Sorry if I offended you. I just couldn't resist. It was all a joke.

No problems, I apologize also I shouldn't be so sensitive and should not have responded that way. Blame it all on the 49ers, they are the reason I'm so grumpy this week. lol But I'm not Simon and do not have any ties with them.

I got the letter, and they are still trying to get me to pay $25, which is fine, I had to sign for my letter.

It is probably because they got bombarded with emails requesting one. Still 25.00 for a complete eGo kit with two setups and a carrying case is a great deal. I'm curious to see what the price of them will be if you order them in bulk and what the shipping fees will be.

Well I received my free ego kit today 10-29 and it was shipped from China 10-26 so shipping is much faster with TNT but more expensive although AidTech paid for mine. I wasn't charged anything for the free sample which is a real nice eGo kit consisting of two eGo's, a usb charger, five carts and a real nice hard leather case that holds it all. I would have been happy with it if I would have purchased it for 60.00 dollars or more. Mine is black with a kind of rubberized coating instead of the slick shiny black ones and it vapes really good. The bulk price is really a good price and I'm very tempted to buy a hundred of them if I can find a place to sell them individually, like a swap meet or something like that. I don't really want to get into setting up a website and shipping and all of that but I might. I thought about ebay but I didn't know they don't allow selling e-cigs there.
Thank you Simon and AidTech for the Ego kit. You were true to your word.
